Dr. Pateder and team were fantastic. All of a sudden I was having extreme nerve pain due to a herniated disc (I didn’t know about) among other things. Dr. Pateder was extremely caring and professional. We decided on ACDF surgery after all else (PT, injection, several pain medicines) failed. I thought I would be laid up for weeks in pain. Nothing could be further from the truth. All nerve pain went away the next day after surgery. Shoulders were sore for a while but only needed the narcotics for 3 1/2 days. Been totally smooth sailing with little to no real pain. 5 weeks out and haven’t even needed an aspirin in 2-3 weeks. Dr. Pateder is an awesome surgeon and a very kind person. I can’t recommend him enough.

Dr. Pateder showed no compassion for my 76-year-old wife and hurried us through the two visits. He misdiagnosed my wife’s condition and referred her to pain management instead of addressing the source of her pain. Dr. Pateder told my wife her condition was normal and he sees this all the time. Her condition was diagnosed accurately by two other doctors later in the week as a recent fracture of a vertebrae. Dr. Pateder gave her four muscle relaxer shots. While helping for a few minutes, it only contributed to her discomfort. Obviously in a hurry, he gave a cursory glance for sterile gauze and, not finding one, he grabbed a paper towel from the paper towel rack to stop her bleeding. She went into the hallway and cried out in pain. Several patients stopped to assist her. I can’t believe Dr. Pateder still has his medical license.

Dr. Pateder is the best and trust worthy orthopedic doctor. I have been his patient since 2020 and will definitely recommend him. He is an outstanding, compassionate, professional and competent.

Every experience I have had at TCO has been excellent. Dr Pateder is an very understanding and skilled surgeon. I am in the hospital now where Dr. Patader performed a spinal fusion. I am feeling great and my pain is controlled as needed. This is my 3rd surgery with Dr. Patader. He fused my neck in 2 separate surgeries. I have been pain free ever since. Outstanding Results for Me Dr. Pateder performed a mimimally invasive surgery to replace discs at L3-L4 and L4-L5 and the results have been fantastic. Prior to the surgery I experienced extensive back pain and numbeness down the left leg. I'm very active and both issues, especially the numbness, was impacting everything in my life. Following the sugery I had fairly good recovery in about 1 month and by month 3 I had stopped remembering the pain. The lack of back pain and numbness is incredible. I first went to see Dr Pateder for a lumbar spine problem. However, he determined that my cervical spine needed to have an MRI as well. The test revealed severe stenosis in my neck. I believe his surgery to correct this saved me from serious loss of function. I will always be grateful for his thoroughness in diagnosis and skill in surgery

Dr. Pateder was kind when I went to him after having neck pain for years. He offered me the option of disc replacement versus fusion and explained the pros and cons of both. I have been working at Reston hospital surgical unit as a RN more than 20 years and taking care of his parents more than 10 years. When it happened I got spinal stenosis this year my first choice was to see Dr.Pateder without second thought. Under his team's excellent care , I'm fully recovered now and ready back to work to take care his patients again. He is truly a wonderful , very knowledgeable and caring doctor. Thank you Dr.Pateder and entire team ! Couldn't say enough how great you are even I have known that since long time ago.

Amazing experience, went in mid-may for C6-C7 disc replacement and vertebrae spacing/fusion. Ran the Marine Corp Marathon on 31 Oct. Great customer service for all staff across the board and very personable.

I've had two separate procedures on my spine. Dr Patel was excellent in explaining and conducting the procedures. The operations was performed with minimum of scaring and pain. I fully recovered quickly. He is the best dressed doctor.

Dr. Pateder is warm, welcoming, thorough and lays out your path for corrective measures and recovery in a timely and clear manner. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is open, approachable and will answer all of your questions. I believe he truly cares about his patients and provides the highest level of care available.

Dr. Pateder came highly recommended by my doctor and research information. After experiencing severe back pain which was impacting my ability to walk and sit, an appointment was scheduled with Dr. Pateder. Dr. Pateder explained what my back surgery would entail should I decide to have back surgery. My back surgery not only alleviated the severe pain, but with physical therapy and taking walks, a near full recovery is anticipated. I could not be happier with the results of my back surgery. Dr. Pateder and his staff were most helpful before and after my back surgery. I highly recommend, and without reservation, Dr. Pateder if you need back surgery.

On 6/17/2021, Dr. Pateder recommended me to perform surgery on both of my L3-L4 and L4-L5 spine in order to fix the numbness on my legs as soon as possible. However, my chiropractor Dr. Edward S. Baek has reminded me that I should always look for second opinion. Hence, I found Dr. Fred Mo and he said that I only need surgery on my L4-L5 spine. He is outstanding and professional spine surgeon. After he performed surgery on my L4-L5 spine on 7/29/2021, the numbness on my legs are gone. In the past several decades, I have spent a lot of time and money and tried to resolve my problem and Dr. Mo fixed it. In addition, my recovery was quick and it took only 4 weeks. Right after that, my wife and I went to Europe trips for a month and enjoyed it. Thank you very much for Dr. Mo's fantastic operation!

Dr. Paterder was kind, gave me his full attention and was very patient with me and my concerns about surgery. The staff in his office was very attentive and helpful. The surgery was at Reston Hospital and the staff their was also terrific. Every person in the hospital that we came in contact with had nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Paterder and made me feel very well taken care of. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to have this surgery, it was the best present I could have given myself! If I ever have back problems again Dr. Paterder will be my first call.

I was able to get a next day appointment. I was treated with great care by all the staff. I had been wearing a back brace for several months and the doctor said it was not necessary to keep wearing it. Great care and excellent attention.

I prolonged my much needed L4/L5/S1 surgery up until the point that it was extremely difficult to walk. I met with Dr. Pateder and found his detailed explanation of my issue and the recommended course of treatment comforting. When the office staff submitted my request for surgery they initially declined the L5/S1 procedure. Dr. Pateder explained to the insurance company how important it was to have the entire procedure done. After further review the insurance company approved and I had my surgery the following week. Dr. Pateder's skills and bed side manner are amazing and I can't thank him enough for everything he has done for me. I'm one year post op and feel great! I highly recommend Dr. Pateder and his staff.

Dr. Pateder is an amazing Surgeon! After years of other doctors not figuring out the problem, he had it diagnosed correctly on the first appointment, and a plan of attack ready to go. L4/5 Surgery was completed quick and easy, had me out of the hospital quickly, and back home healing perfect. He is by far, the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, and wouldn’t hesitate in the least bit, to have any other issues in the future taken care of by him!

Dr. Pateder has proformed surgery on my upper and lower back over the years. Each surgery has given me much less pain and more benefits in movement. Wonderful doctor, very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend to anyone.

2nd fusion performed in 8 years in different location in spine. Chose Dr. P because of his knowledge, confidence and performance in the first surgery. I will continue to see Dr. P for any future ailments as I have no doubt the outcome will great. He has allowed me to continue to have an active lifestyle. Everybody is really nice. Just a glitch I was not given the order for the MRI. When I got to VA Hospital to schedule it they did not have it. So I called the office and they sent the WRONG person’s phone order . Of course I did not see it. So the lady put in all the information on her computer. When she asked me to sign I realized it was someone else ´s name. We called the office again and Jennifer sent the correct one. I could not get an appointment until July 29. Dr. Pateder did a disc replacement on my neck after physical therapy and injections did not work. He was very meticulous, thorough and skilled. My pain and numbness are completely gone. I was back to work in 3 days and back to the gym in a week. I couldn't be happier. I have interacted with several surgeons over my lifetime and Dr. Pateder is simply the best!

Robotic Scoliosis Surgery I had a scoliosis of 60 degrees. I have been living with pain for decades. I met Dr Pateder through a friend’s recommendation (he did disc replacement surgery on him). After getting to know me, doing an exam and reviewing my history and images, he recommended a minimally invasive robotic scoliosis surgery. Having failed multiple rounds of physical therapy and injections, I decided to proceed with surgery. It was the beat decision of my life. While the first few weeks were somewhat difficult, I am now 90% pain free at 3 months after surgery. I am more active now than I have been for years. Dr Pateder is truly a magnificent surgeon. He is very, very skilled but he is so humble and kind. I HIGHLY recommend him and his team. If you have spinal issues, don’t torture yourself by living with pain. See Dr Pateder and get his opinion…by the way, he is not “cut happy”…he told 2 of my friends that they did not need surgery (whereas their surgeon recommended it)!

Very nice doctor!

My experience with Dr. Pateder was great! He listens and is very honest. I felt very comfortable with his recommendation regarding my back pain. I would definitely recommend him!

Very informative and professional

Dr. Pateder seemed a little rushed with little time to gain a complete understanding of my pain or why it was also going down the front of my leg. Just gave me the option of going to PT and went on to his next patient. A total of 5 minutes, maybe less. I left with some unanswered questions.

Dr. Pateder and his staff are top notch. My surgery went better than it could have and the scheduling office, pre-op and follow up care was very professional. I highly recommend Dr. Pateder and his entire team.
