Dr. Delphine W Ong

Dr. Delphine Ong, my oncologist, who came highly recommended, is so knowledgeable and professional, yet very personable and caring, even showing interest in family pictures. Her exams were thorough. She always took time to answer all of my many questions, and those of my family members, whom she patiently included in FaceTime, phone conferences, and in person. She and her nurse, Elizabeth also worked hard behind the scenes as patient advocates. Dr. Ong continues to be an outstanding advocate on behalf of her patients, giving complete exams, showing compassion, working in our best interest, encouraging us, and explaining and clarifying treatment. Her nurse Elizabeth has also been a valuable source of information, including a speaker phone call to my hospital room, in which she answered my questions and those of my family. She also has the important role in helping Dr. Ong gain insurance coverage for important consultations and other needed grants for expensive chemotherapy treatment.

I was her patient some years ago and felt she was direct and professional. I was very happy with her care. She gave serious consideration to my questions, opinions and concerns for which I was very grateful.

Absolutely zero personality, compassion, empathy and bedside manner non-existent. A cancer doctor should be supportive and kind and there is none of that here. I switched Oncologists mid treatment.

Zero compassion, always irritated, and always late.

I have never been treated so badly as with Dr. Ong. She’s rude and puts blame on situations that she as a doctor is responsible for like reordering medicine on time so I don’t run out and has never shown compassion . I do not recommend this doctor if this is your first time (sadly) for having cancer. This was my third time unfortunately and I had to deal with this doctor and should have gotten a new one early on.

Ten years ago when I had metastatic breast cancer, I sought a second opinion after seeing a rude and snappish oncologist. A friend who is an oncology nurse at Mather VA hospital told me that Doctor Ong was the best in Sacramento. She was correct. Dr. Ong is thorough, knowledgeable, and engaged with the patient. She does not rush through the appointment but takes time to explain everything and answer whatever questions the patient may have. Highly recommend.

Dr. Delphine Ong is an excellent oncologist and would highly recommend her to anyone . She is a very knowledgeable and professional oncologist and keeps you updated and explains the issues very well. I was diagnosed with stage 3 Colon Cancer in 2009 and she was my oncologist and I felt very comfortable with her as my doctor. Kudos to you Dr. Ong .....Great job performed !!
