Reviews for Dr. Deena Gandhi
Took my son to her for extreme situation. Never saw her. PA kept changing his medicines like a guinea pig.Staff is beyond rude and incompetent. Took to another doctor and got him correct help...ridiculous way to run a medical practice..pathetic..when confronted, Took her workers side...lost 3 patients.
Dr. Gandhi has helped me so much in managing depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. So grateful to her!
Ive been with Dr. Gandhi for years now and she’s wonderful. Her staff is great as well and I really appreciate that they send in prescription refills right away!
Dr Ghandi has played an integral role in my recovery. She actively listens and is always engaged. Dr Ghandi was the only Dr who took the time to properly diagnose me. That was 7 years ago! Maria & Lisa are always professional, kind & communicative. Im eternally grateful to her and the office staff.
Dr. Gandhi is wonderful. Very responsive. Very flexible. Very personable. Really feel she takes a personal interest. Office staff is great. Gets right back to me consistently and quickly.
Dr. Gandhi is the first Psychiatrist that has ever taken the time to talk with me and listen to my daily struggles given my comorbidity conditions. Dr. Gandhi truly makes me feel like I’m being heard, and I walk away from appointments feeling like I have gained new tools for daily life struggles. I appreciate that most of all! I have spoken with different Psychiatrists throughout my life and Dr. Gandhi is the first psychiatrist that I have met that will take the time to listen to her patients. I now have a good cocktail of medications that work best for me, I appreciate Dr. Gandhi and her nurse practitioner Kiara they are truly a blessing! Lisa is amazing also, she is always very responsive to my appt request, questions, and concerns. It truly makes a difference when you have a care team that truly cares about the patient and goes that extra mile to ensure patients are being taken care of and satisfied with the service! I have realized I am my best self mentally and physically when I have a great psychiatrist and a great therapist on board. Trial and error until you find the best cocktail for your diagnoses and a great mental health team to manage your diagnoses correctly.
Could never see Dr Gandhi had to see her PA who used my son as a guinea pig made him sicker than a dog with side effects helped his problem not at all the rudest front desk people I've ever dealt with and when confronted about this she said maybe we should find another doctor well she just lost three patients because of that attitude
About killed me with her prescriptions. Don’t go there!!!
I absolutely love Ciara. She’s so easy to talk to, relatable, kind and always positive. I look forward to each visit. We can literally talk about anything. I’m so glad my sister referred me. The office staff is also nice and their response time is unmatched! Keep up the great work!
I've been with Dr. Gandhi for many years and enjoy her friendly nature.
Dr.Gandhi has been very helpful in diagnosing the condition and providing the right treatment . She is very patient and listens.
She is an amazing doctor And it's always there when I need her I am so thankful for her and for her being my psychiatrist. She has been my psychiatrist for over 10 years.
I've been a patient of Dr. Gandhi's for approximately a decade now. Absolutely fantastic all-around. Take any negative reviews with a >>massive<< grain of salt given the ridiculous factors apparently influencing their reviews. Remember she's a psychiatrist, and deals with a wide variety of people in varying mental states. She has always been prompt and professional in every interaction we've ever had, and makes it a point to take the time necessary such that no proverbial stone is left unturned.
I've been seeing Dr. Gandhi for close to 20 years. When so many other doctors misdiagnosed me she took the time to figure out exactly what my diagnosis is. She saved me, my life and my relationships with my family. Because of her putting me on the right cocktail of medicine I have the life I always dreamed of having.
Have the upmost respect and gratitude for Dr.Gandhi. She has helped me and my family for years. She goes above and beyond with her care. She the best listener and the kindest person. I’ve been a long time patient. She remarkable.
The best Doctor I could ask for. Dr. Gandhi goes above and beyond when comes to helping patients. She’s very professional and the best listener, kind and understanding. Treats everyone with kindness and respect She has an amazing ability making you feel comfortable and at ease. She takes the time to explain things and is very patient. She has given me the best mental health care I could ever ask for.
Dr. Gandhi has been my doctor for about 5 years now. I find that she listens to me and we work together to make sure I am on the correct medication. If I need a quicker appointment, her staff usually can get me in within 24 hours.
She hurt me very bad with some of the comments she made.

I have been coming to see Dr Gandhi for over a year now and she is really great! It is a little difficult reaching them over the phone which I would suggest using the online tools for those of you who do not know about it. I look forward to returning.
After years of help from Dr. Gandhi, money was the bottom line. She really does not care or have compassion for anyone.
Dr. Gandhi has been my doctor for at least 8 years. I called to make an appt and because I hadn't seen her in a year I was being considered a new patient and had to pay to have a new evaluation. During the course of the year she was still renewing my prescriptions so I was still in her care. I thought that was utterly ridiculous. I made several phone calls to try to talk to her but was never called back. I decided not to go back to her.
Patient for a while. Now very difficult to get appointment and only by phone now. Not even tele visit.
I just love ❤️ Dr. Deena Gandhi I have been a patient, for over 10yrs. Dr. Gandhi and her staff have been so supportive during the most (Tragic) time of my life. I have gone to many Psychiatrists and I’m very pleased with her, and her staff. Thank you so much ????
I called within 24 hours as advised to reschedule. No one ever called me back.I had been exposed to Covid. I had just been reading reviews about how bad this office was and wondered what I was getting myself into. After my phone call today with the office staff, my thoughts were confirmed. Dr. Ghandi is excellent, caring, and efficient. Highly recommend.
My experience with Dr. Deena Gandhi and her staff has been outstanding! Going through these usual times were living in, Dr. Gandhi and her staff have been very professional, responsive and compassionate
I love Dr. Gandhi. She is the first psychiatrist to understand my needs as a patient. I have been bounced around from prescription to prescription with little success. However, she was able to prescribe the right combination of medications, and this is the best I have felt in over a decade. I almost forget I even have a diagnosis. ???? Caring, listens, explains and include you in decision making. Very Patient takes her time with her Patients.
She is the worst doctor imaginable. In order to refill your prescription you have to pay in advance for your upcoming appointment. Imagine needing medicine desperately and being denied because you don't have the $100 for your appointment coming up in 2 weeks. You will have the money when the appointment time comes, but not now. I ended up going through HORRIBLE withdrawals because of this woman and her money grubbing selfishness. As others have stated, she does not care about you one bit, only your money. You can complain to the medical board, but they only serve to protect greedy and incompetent doctors. She is a horrible doctor and also a very bad person. Stay away! EDIT: She has been sanctioned by the Texas Medical Board and is currently on a remediation program. This is significant, since the TMB usually protects Physicians. If she does not change her ways she will lose her license. Hopefully she will get her act together, and no one else will have to go through the Hell she put me through. I've been a patient for over 15 yrs. She's the only doctor to help stabilize me & put me on the correct medications. She doesn't just write prescriptions, she always enquires about your life & is caring. She knows my issues & remembers them. Since seeing her I've only been hospitalized 2 times, for medical observation of possible side effects that needed a doctor to recognize & treat. I was in & out of so many psychiatrist hospitals, taken do many medications & diagnosed with the wrong medications. I'm now only taking 4 medications versus the 7 to 10 before. I have Crohn's disease & if can't make appt she does it over the phone. My mom now sees her. We love her. Her staff is efficient but very busy. Cut them some slack. The $50 deposit is a practice many doctors require. AND BELIEVE ME, IT IS MUCH LOWER THAN MOST DOCTORS. I am alive because of this doctor. On weekends she's called me because of medication issues. I highly recommend her. She is kind, compassionate & willing to work with you to find the medications that work. Its always going to be trial and error to find the ones that work. She is the absolute worst Dr I have ever encountered. All she cares about is money. She claimed my insurance was a "hassle" and we agreed to a cash price of $80. On my next visit she changed her mind and demanded $100. I paid, but whenever I would go to get my prescription filled she refused to fill it unless I paid for my next visit in advance. So, 2 weeks before my next appointment, if I did not have the money I would go without my medications. This turned my life into a living hell. When I tried to discuss this matter she refused and instructed her secretary to tell me I would no longer me a patient. She left me with no meds, no plan, and no referral to another Doctor. I am taking this matter up with the medical board and she is now being investigated for medical abandonment. She has already been disciplined by the board twice, so if you are a patient keep in mind the board may take away her license (as it should). Stay far away, she will destroy your life.
Feel like she only took my money. No prescriptions and says I should see her and a therapist Who says that to a patient. MOMEY,MONEY....Not
We are in a pandemic. I have no meds. The Kimberly lady who is not even a real dr will not refill my PSYCH meds cause I owe $50 that had to be paid before the next appointment. Now they say before next refill. These people are willing to let people in quarantine go without medication and experience withdrawals
Worst Doctor ever!!! Dr Gandhi, You give your Profession a BAD name and your practice should be reported to the Board, moreover, just because you passed your licensing board should NOT give you the right to practice medicine. It is a shame that you share a last name with a GREAT Man that taught caring and compassion towards others. Ghandi said: "Where there is love there is life.", but You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!! Don't think about calling for an appointment unless you have $50 that you don't mind leaving with them. She has trained her office staff to be non caring and non compassionate as I feel she may be as well. On my call to set up a new patient appointment, I was given a 2 minute list of their office's Dont's/Wont's...appalling!!! There is NO WAY a Doctor with this specialty, would do this to a patient. Unbelievable!!! This office is a NO GO!!!! Just reading the other reviews proves my point. Worst Doctor ever!!! Maria, the front desk clerk is very stupid. Doesn't transfer messages... Prescriptions are filled on time and the front area is VERY CLEAN. Wait is decent for a doctor's office. She looks like this badass soap actress I used to watch at my granny's house. I'm reminded every time I see her.

I've been working with Dr. G for many years. I have no complaints and have received great care. The negative reviews seem to be about the $50 deposit, which is standard in the medical field. This office is very busy and last minute cancellations make it virtually impossible for other people to take the clients place. 24 hour cancellation is actually helpful for everyone. Second, the front office staff has to deal with clients, pharmacies, insurance companies, etc. all day long, cut them a break. Dr. G and her staff have always worked with me and helped me out when needed. If the staff's personality is an issue, maybe try and see beyond it and remember the reason you're there. Do not even bother with this office. Rude staff, uncaring.
They require an upfront deposit of $50.00 to make a doctors appointment and in the event you don't show they will keep your deposit even if you have an emergency, become ill, etc. This is a ridiculous policy. I don't think this will inspire me to visit their clinic as a new patient.
I never even had a chance to see the doctor, her front office staff is horrible. I just called and tried to schedule an first appt and Maria was trying to charge me $50 without even getting the patient information first. This practice cares more for your money then the patients. I even tried to explain that i would pay with my fsa account and if I make a payment today without an EOB then the account would be locked and I wouldnt beable to get my husbands meds, and he's diabetic with a heart condition and Maria just sat there on the phone, i had to ask if she was still there. She eventually explaied that it was because they have a lot of patients that make appts and never come. So my comment was im being punished for other patients no showing and she said Yes. She was rude and impersonal. If you care more about money then you do Patients, i will find someone else. I never even had a chance to see the doctor, her front office staff is horrible. Absolutely abhorrent reception staff. The receptionist named Maria laughed in my face when I, tears down my face, begged her to find a way to fit my appointment into Gandhi’s “busy” schedule. The doctor is always running late, but because they considered me a new patient and I forgot to fill out paperwork prior to my appointment she wanted to take my deposit and send me packing. This was while I could hear everything Gandhi was saying on the phone with an “emergency” session that would have cut into my appointment. Maria was supremely unhelpful, but she also seemed sadistically happy to laugh at me when I was begging her to find some way to help me be able to get my meds. I have been coming to this office since I was 13, Dr. Ghandi has always been consistent. she has been through it all with me but her office staff is trash! Maria( the one that talks like she has cotton in her mouth) is the worst and obviously consistently rude to others. She is very inconsiderate and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL EVERY TIME I CALL! She may needs to be a patient of Dr. Ghandi or the other doctor in that office because clearly SOMETHING is clearly wrong with her! She is not only rude to the patients she is also rude to the pharmacists. I was at CVS and the pharmacist and I was trying to explain to her that the faxed over script was expired and going through and she though I was trying to run fraud or something I don't know but the pharmacist was very busy and still trying to explain to her the what and why the script wasn't sufficient. She made the pharmacist call her from the store and I was out of medication for days because of her plum stupidity, because the store was extremely busy. I am not sure what her issue is but she really needs to find another place to work, dealing with the type of clientele that this office provides services for (fragile people) she is in the wrong business! If we all stop going she is out of a job! We are the reason she has a job, I hope she has to experience a day in the life of one of Dr. Ghandi's patients and maybe she will have a little bit more compassion. Dr. Ghandi is the worst doctor I have ever been too. I read some of the reviews about her before seeing her, but I chose to ignore the bad ones because I needed to find a doctor, but they should not be ignored. She is horrible! I wish I could give 0 or negative stars. I had my first appointment with her and I had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time. Then during my entire appointment she ate her lunch and scraped her teeth against the metal spoon. This was so unprofessional. I felt like she was more interested in her lunch than what I was saying. She was also horribly condescending about what I was feeling or that other medication hadn't worked for me in the past. Dr. Gandhi has treated me for almost 25 years. I don't think I would still be here if it weren't for her help and persistence in finding the right medication cocktail for me. She is empathetic and a kind and caring woman. I would recommend her highly to anyone having mental health issues
Dr. Gandhi was referred to me by two ladies at my church and I could not be more pleased. She brought me back from the "pits of hell" in 2006 and 2016. She's very nice. I dont understand the negative reviews she is getting. I've been going to her for 12 years now. She saved my *** twice. Don't think I will EVER try weaning off these meds again. Not worth it if you already know you have a chemical imbalance. Give her a try!!! She's also board certified!!!
Front office staff is extremely rude and judgemental.
This woman is the most judgmental and unprofessional doctor I have ever met in my life. Disgusting. She basically alleged I was an alcoholic with no proof. I had laser cataract surgery yesterday on both my eyes done by a second generation Chinese Harvard surgeon. After restoring 20/20 vision to my eyes, he comes in with a potted plant in a ceramic bowl that says 'Thanks for trusting your eyes with me'. What a humble gentleman! This woman thinks she is gods gift to the world. I was only getting a second opinion on severe nausea caused by Depakote. She starts off by telling me that I am a mess and she does not know where to begin with me. Really, Ms. Gandhi, I will not even call you Dr. FYI, I was a topper at IIT Bombay and worked thirty years for ExxonMobil as a senior process research consultant. Very professional and open minded. I love this place!
She works with me & the psychologist for the best treatment plan.
Dr Gandhi gives you all her attention. Correct on her diagnosis. And remembers everything. Should be more like her.
Dr Gandhi has not only been a God sent for me, but also for my family... she is easy to communicate with and always has my best interest in mind.
I have been a patient for 5 years. She was the only Doctor who figured out the right cocktail of meds for me. I'm 58 now and feel so much better than ever before. BTW I was in the hell hole of Bi-Polar Depression for two years. Go if you want to get better !
I started seeing Dr. Gandhi per my therapist. She asks me questions to help decide what meds would be right for me. In the beginning I saw her frequently to make sure I was making improvement with the meds but now I see her quarterly to touch base. She sees my dad, daughter, son, sister in law, brother and mom. We all have different issues from anxiety, ADHD, anger, bi-polar, etc. She takes the time to ask questions and listen, never felt rush. None of us take the same meds, we are all treated with our own problems in the way that's best for us. Not all of us take meds either. Her staff is ok, not personable but they have to be stern. I have been in that office with people losing their minds, I thought I was going to be a witness in an assault or murder case or be dead myself. She's not just treating the every day person that has minor issues. Some of her patients are crazy and these office girls have to be tough. They have always returned my calls the same day and respond to my emails immediately. We have been going here over 4 years and have never consider changing. I WAS a patient of Dr. Gandhi's for 10 years and she was a caring doctor. She seemed genuinely interested in helping me get better. Over the last 4 years, the practice has declined. Her office staff is rude and very unhelpful. When you try to communicate your concerns, she never responds. it seems the practice is only concerned about money and not about patients.
We left the practice not because of the Doctor but because of her inept, uncooperative, and unresponsive front office. Either she is not aware it, or doesn't care or this is the way to thin down the number of patients. She has succeeded.
I've been with Dr Gandhi for over 10 years. She's always been able to provide treatments and solutions to any problems I've presented to her. She genuinely wants to make you better.
I've been seeing Dr. Gandhi for two years now and she's been wonderful to work with. She keeps great notes and always is sure to ask the right questions. Her staff always gets me in for appointments and it's a bonus that she takes walk in appointments. I'd highly recommend her!

I have gone to dr. Gandhi for years and the waiting time is far less than any other physiatrist I have been to and she has two front desk girls and they are very friendly if you can't get through and it goes to voicemail I leave a message and they have always been very prompt about calling me back. It is so hard to find a good physciatrist and I have enjoyed my experience for years now. Dr. Gandhi has a great bedside manner and doesn't judge you like some others I have seen in the past.
Dr. Ganhdi is professional and very personable. I've been seeing her for two years now and would recommend her to others.

Dr. Ghandi almost killed my daughter. She carelessly prescribed her 90 pain pills knowing she has a history of drug abuse. She only cares about making money.
She only cares about collecting her monies. Did not even evaluate or even ask about the issues.

Don't bother trying to become a new patient at this practice. There's no way to directly talk to a person to make an appointment; the web site and phone system instruct patients to leave a message. We left several messages to try to make appointments and have never received a return call.
Doctor is good, but front desk is moody and unprofessional.
Takes the time to understand where you're coming from.
I like Dr Gandi. She seems very knowledgeable. Her front office staff has also improved and I am pleased by the automated call answering system- it makes scheduling appointments, etc much easier.

You spend at least 40 minutes in the waiting room to only spend 5 minutes with her. She is kind, I guess, but she doesn't really care and doesn't talk to you about why something is happening. She just prescribes pills and doesn't tell you anything about them. Also, her front desk people are AWFUL.
She doesn't do therapy, just prescribes pills. If you want therapy, she will refer you to someone else, with less qualifications. Never met a psychiatrist that didn't offer therapy.
Would not recommend. Odd and distant. Does not listen. Put me back on a medication that I specifically told her was ineffective. Expensive. We met for about fifteen minutes. I waited in the lobby for longer than my appointment.Total waste of time.

Dr. Gandhi is an excellent physician. Her office staff however, is rude and has argued with my daughter on several occasions about our insurance plan. We have a $60.00 co-pay and the girl insists we pay the full amount that we have not met our deductible. Its right on the card but she refuses to read it. We drive over 60 miles to see her and my daughter is treated in this manner. Not very happy with this individual, but Dr. G is great.

She takes the time to understand what you need.
Dr Gandhi has treated me for depression and ADD. She is a good psychiatrist, and seems to know her medications.
Office staff rude and unprofessional. Dr. Gandhi takes time and has a kind manner, but is nowhere to be found when needed. After five days of trying to get a refill for a medication, the pharmacy and I cannot get a response of any kind from her. The office is closed, apparently for the holiday, but there is no explanation on the door, website or phone as to why, or when Dr. Gandhi will be back. Getting another doc to refill the Rx will be impossible. Irresponsible & unprofessional.
