Mrs. Debra Lynn Chernosky

Dr. Chernosky has been our dermatologist for many years. Her expertise and professionalism is top notch. My husband and I have both had skin cancers, my husband, melanoma. Dr. Chernosky referred us to an excellent surgeon and has given excellent follow-up care. She is the best!

Omg. She is so great! Very nice. Got straight to the point. She sat down and to me my diagnosis after checking me out. Explained EVERYTHING including the meds she prescribed. Answered my questions. Awesome experience.

I went to see Dr. Chernosky for the first time yesterday, and my first dermatologist visit in over 10 years. She was extremely personable, seemed very informed, and had a good plan to get my rosacea under control and then maintain once controlled. I can't yet speak to the effectiveness of the medications, but I trust her opinion after meeting her and am eager to try her plan. She did not seem to rush at all, even though I had 2 separate things to discuss with her. Overall I am very pleased with my experience and will be back for sure. Her office staff was also very kind. Medicare patients beware. You will have to pay 100% upfront AFTER your appointment.and then wait for Medicare to reimburse you. I felt violated after one visit and will never go back.

I have been a client for about 3 years now. That stops today. I referred my mom to this clinic and she has called 4 times and has been unable to schedule an appointment. Her English isn't very good but you can understand her. I find it VERY RACIST that they don't want to give her an appointment for my grandmother who is 94. It's Houston, over half of the population speaks Spanish. You just lost our business for being so RACIST!!! I have been a client for about 3 years now. That stops today. Medicare patients beware! The receptionist took my Medicare and secondary insurance cards and didn't mention that I had to pay up front. Upon leaving, I purchased (foolishly) a $34 bottle of sunscreen protection. When I handed over my credit card I was presented with a 204.00 charge and was told that Dr. Chernosky accepts Medicare but the patient has to pay and then wait to be reimbursed by Medicare. Needless to say, I will not go back to her clinic. I've been on Medicare for 10 years and have never had to pay upfront. Her practice should require notification upfront - not after the patient has seen her. Her approach is deceptive.

Nice doctor but misdiagnosed my skin condition and just gave me steroids each time I went in, didn't get better and she didn't try to do anything different. Had to go somewhere else

Today, for the first time in my life, which consisted of farming, ranching, life guarding, sun worshiping, spraying all sorts of agricultural chemicals, being soaked in cow and horse insect spray for over eight hours at a time, and cleaning out out horse stalls, cattle barns and other farm structures, by hand, I decided to to visit a Board Certified Dermatologist for a complete scan of every inch of my body surface, which had a few hundred abnormal spots, moles, and God knows what else. Dr. Debra Chernosky, after looking me over from head to toe with huge magnifying glasses and a bright light, said I have nothing which is dangerous nor abnormal for a man who is my age; and she didn't remove a single spot. She even took the time to explain what each of spot is, and suggested that I come back annually for another examination. Her bedside manner was friendly and very professional, and I would recommend her to anyone who has any concern about any skin lesions. To add whipped cream to the report, she is married to a lawyer, was punctual, and her charges were very reasonable. Today, for the first time in my life, which consisted of farming, ranching, life guarding, sun worshiping, spraying all sorts of agricultural chemicals, being soaked in cow and horse insect spray for over eight hours at a time, and cleaning out horse stalls, cattle barns and other farm structures, by hand, I decided to to visit a Board Certified Dermatologist for a complete scan of every inch of my body surface, which had a few hundred freckles & moles. She is a very positive person. Always makes me feel welcome and at ease. I have never waited more than 15 or 20 minutes to be taken to an exam room. Its just a great office.

She treated exzema instead of roscrea on face. Wrong diagnosis. Cream she gave controls exzema but doesn't cure it..Changed doctors, new product that cures it in 2 wks. She gave wrong instructions on order in which to apply meds - moisturizer first then prescription. Baylor dr told me that dilutes strength of prescription and med goes on first. New meds have moisture in them. Been patient for 25 yrs, flushing Roscrea, exzema, contact dermatitis -miserable, anxious, no jury duty exemption-cold.

Overall, I was delightfully impressed with my experience with my office visit today, and I would confidently recommend Dr. Chernosky to anyone who wants cosmetic improvements (i.e. Botox, etc.) or who sincerely needs help with a serious medical condition. Dr. Chernosky: She presents a very polished & professional demeanor & possesses a very tangible bedside manner that is definitely approachable. I really enjoyed how she lead me through her logic and how we were able to arrive at a compromising solution together (i.e., what works with my budget, willingness for patient compliance, etc.). Overall, I would describe her approach as comprehensive & reasonable. I was also impressed with the amount of time & attention that I received in relation to (what I can only describe as) my unique skin condition. Ultimately, I came to her expecting a feasible solution when I walked out of the door, and that is exactly what I received. The total time from arrival, paperwork, & exam to egress was about 45 minutes, with the majority of that time for paperwork, pre-exam/vitals, & the actual exam itself. Location: Although it may seem a little circuitous if you are not from the area, she is located in a very safe & welcoming building with plenty of free parking. Suite 100 is immediately to your left as you enter. Office: I was impressed with how amazingly clean that the whole office was, from the waiting room to the exam room. The office is very open with a lot of space to move & windows for a good amount of natural light. The furniture & exam room equipment also appeared to be clean & in good working order. Staff: I would say that each staff member took the time to make my experience a special one, inject a bit of humor here & there, or at least an attempt to make some kind of connection. Throughout my whole experience, I never felt like "just another patient", but I rather felt a genuine & sincere effort to make me happy. Also, I'm pretty sure that I met the whole staff, from reception to vitals/pre-exam, exam, then the check out...each of the four staff members seemed to be specialized in their role, so they are collectively able to provide a competent & value added service to the clients. Billing: At the time of my visit, she takes insurance, and my insurance will be billed. However, the estimated co-payment (if any) seems to be due when services are rendered. Any differences will be refunded or billed, depending. Although I'm not wild about the estimation part, I do favor having an idea of how much things will be in real dollars as opposed to "rolling the dice" & finding out later that I can't afford it. Seeing that I haven't been to a Dermatologist in almost 20 years, I really can't comment if this exam was any more or less expensive than normal. In my limited opinion, the rate seemed to be reasonable relative to the services that I received, but if you're generally concerned about costs, then maybe you should call beforehand to understand what the charges may be.
