About Deborah A Friedlander
Reviews for Deborah A Friedlander
Waited Four Months to get an appointment, then waited 1.5 hours. I left without seeing the Doctor. Scheduling less patients and treating people with respect does not appear on her description. That was not fair to us.

Dr. Friedlander has the best bedside manner. I have a good relationship with her as well as her Team for 5 years . The office staff has always made me feel welcome and not a number. Both Dr. Friedlander and her team have an attention to detail with communication , as well as follow through and are very professional. I will wait however long I have to , to me that that shows I am just another patient. Thank You Dr. Friedlander and the Team for all you support and hard work!
Compationable, knowledgeable ,very approachable and just down to earth
Dr. Friedlander is just amazing. I love how she takes her time with you, she actually listens. I feel so comfortable talking to her about any issues I’m having. She is down to earth and very compassionate. I would recommend Dr. Deberah Friedlander to both my girl friends and my male friends. You will not be disappointed, she is excellent at her job! I have read the other reviews and felt compelled to write my own. Yes, Dr. Friedlander is not always on time for her office visits. Yes, when questioned about a course of treatment she can be short with you. However, she is a terrific Dr. who covers every base and runs her team. She saved my life by being tenacious and unwilling to accept answers when she knew the answer was incorrect. She is truly her patient's advocate and works tirelessly for that patient. Even though our personalities clash at times she is the one I want in my corner when it counts. I have read the other reviews and felt compelled to write my own. Dr. Friedlander was recomended to me from my brother. We had 2 vastly different experiences. He had a favorable experience and I did not. Dr. Friedlander did not respond to my calls. When the pharmacy contacted her office my request for my cholesterol medication was denied by Dr. Friedlander with no reason. I called her and the girl who answered the phone was condescending. When Dr. Friedlander heard that I had early onset Dementia. She made a joke about it saying that most people have some Dementia to them. I didn't come there to be joked about. Then she said "why are you concentrating on the negative"? Well excuse me I had recently told I have Dementia. I'd like to see if Dr. friedlander would be this flippant if it were a relative of hers was given that diagnosis. Dr. Friedlander was recomended to me from my brother. She is my favorite doctor
The people who gave poor reviews evidently do not know Dr. Friedlander very well. Aside from being an excellent practitioner she IS caring and compassionate. I had emergency surgery a few years ago in the middle of the night. Only the surgeon and gastroenterologist were involved in my treatment, but she came to the hospital the next day to check on me. Dr. Monroe Elkin
Worst Doctor Ever. Don't bother calling this women, its crazy that she even passed her boards. She does not care about her patients well being. She refused to help with further care for a family member of mine, and told us that she "doesn't do things like this", screamed at our elderly relative, and told us she gave up. Only go to this horrible human being if you want to die quick, she will be happy to do whatever she can to end your life quicker then before you saw her.
Dr Friedlander thinks nothing of a two hour wait for an appt.
Dr. Friedlander took care of my parents for many years, and she is incredibly caring and compassionate. Yes, you may have to wait after your scheduled time to see her—sometimes a couple of hours—but she always spends the time required. When my father was hospitalized, she called my mother to check on her. She FaceTimed with me while he was hospitalized, and we had no way to communicate with him due to Covid-19 and his difficulty using the phone. She kept me informed as to what was going on with my father when none of us could see him.
Dr Friedlander was my late wife’s doctor. This doctor prescribed a high amount of blood thinners to my late wife who then ended up in Intensive Care. Later on, my wife kept getting worse and went to Hospice. When my wife passed away Dr Friedlander did not even give her condolences and we felt ignored by her. No, I do not recommend her , it was a bad experience since the beginning.
Visited office today, 1-22-20. Appointment was made in early Dec 2019. Apparently, ,scheduling appointments doesn't coincide with doctor's time allocated with patients. My wife a I had a 10:15 and 10:45 appontment respectively. We waited 1 1/2 hours for the Doctor. My wife sitting on her wheelchair with no one caring about her discomfort. Office staff, while sympathetic accepts this as an every day occurrence . Sad way to manage an office . We left before seeing the Doctor . I can assure that I am not one of those disgruntled people who is never satisfied. The opposite is true. Visited office today, 1-22-20. Appointment was made in early Dec 2019. Dr. Friedlander has been my mother's Doctor for over 10 years. She has prescribed my mother many drugs over the years and my mother likes her. Most recently though during a routine visit she stated that my mom would not be alive today if she did not take the Immunotherapy treatment that her Chemo Doctor is giving her. I thought this was a very strong statement that is hard to prove. Additionally the Dr stated that mom had stage 3 lung cancer which was not the case when mom had to go in for emergency gastrointestinal surgery when her immune system likely was weakened by Chemo therapy treatment. Others concluded that she didn't have stage 3 lung cancer as they were treating her based on this. Consequently this has encouraged my mother to continue getting very expensive immunotherapy treatment. In my opinion her health has not shown that such a controversial treatment is justified and the Dr. doesn't seem to be acting professional by making such statement given the details surrounding her personal situation. I became ill with dehydration and very low blood pressure 55/34. We called dr freidland. She came to the e r ( on a Sunday ). She knew my medical history and after reviewing my labs ekg etc etc. said if the cardiac enzymes are normal I would be discharged. She is a caring and a patient person I highly recommend her
We moved from Long Island in December. I have had a complicated medical history and needed to find a number of doctors in various specialties. A couple of the doctors I initially consulted turned out to be disappointments. Perhaps the most important doctor is the general family doctor who anchors all the specialties and has the overall picture. Luckily, I found Dr. Friedlander. I was nervous since we had the same family doctor in New York for more than 30 years. After I visited Dr. Friedlander, my wife became her patient as well. Now, six months later we are very pleased. Her office is very efficient. She has always taken her time with me and my wife. Most recently, on Labor Day, my wife needed a medical consultation. We tried an urgent care facility that gave us an appointment, but was closed. So, around 12:30 we tried Dr. Friedlander's office. Of course, on that day and with the hurricane approaching, her office was closed. But within about 10 minutes after leaving a message with her service, Dr. Friedlander called my wife. They discussed her symptoms and Dr. Friedlander called in a prescription to our local CVS, which was closing at 2:00 p.m. Thanks to her prompt response, we picked up the prescription and my wife's infection has greatly improved. It is good to know we have a family doctor who cares about her patients. Thank you Dr. Friedlander. We moved from Long Island in December. A close relative of mine was admitted to the Delray Memorial hospital and, during her stay , was seen by Dr Friedlander as the covering doctor for the primary care physician on vacation. Her compassionate and professional care was a godsend throughout the process of my relative’s road toward recovery. The Dr’s caring bedside manner, her holistic view of the medical issues we were confronted with, and her willingness to stand strong and fight for the comprehensive care of her patient has been a true gift from above. She was pleasant, easy to talk to and speaks in easy to understand terms. I am very comfortable seeing her and that’s very important
She’s disorganized, distracted and difficult to get answers from. Absolutely did not give me confidence. Her office is run poorly and she is very forgetful. Not a physician I’d want to care for me in an emergency!

She’s disorganized, forgetful and has a hair trigger temper. Her staff is as inept as she is.
Wonderful caring, thinks outside the box to find out what might be causeing you physical problems. Wonderful staff!
WORST DOCTOR! MOST DISORGANIZED, AND MISTAKE PRONE WITH SERIOUS MEDS! LONG WAIT FOR APPOINTMENTS! My 89 year old mother's previous doctor was neglectful, but Friedlander is reckless. Mom wanted a doctor close to her home, so we went with Friedlander. Now, after 4 months we have moved her to a doctor who's practice is farther away, but his reviews are much better than Friedlander's. On two occasions Friedlander made serious mistakes with Mother's's strongest medication - for depression, and dementia. Friedlander should have referred Mother to a psychiatrist. When I asked for a referral she could not provide me with one. Luckily, CVS caught the first mistake but Mom became extremely agitated. The second 'mistake' was worse: Friedlander took Mom off two very strong drugs with no weaning off & afterwards, did not call us to see how Mom was doing so I had to call her. She waited days to get back to me. There is more to report but let's just say at this point we moved on.

Very busy doctor, but worth the wait! Great staff and she is so friendly.
I I had my first office visit, and I was very pleased. She listened to me and gave me all the time to do a complete physical exam. She is a very pleasant person, and I highly recommend her to anyone asking me if I know a good (great) doctor,
Great ! !
Dr. Friedlander has been my primary physician for ten years and through those years has earned my complete trust. She is honest, caring and not afraid to recommend different treatments if she feels it is in the best interest of the patient. She is generous with her time which leads some to complain about wait time. But hen she is treating you, she is single focused on you answering questions forthrightly and honestly. I truly respect her personally and professionally.
The doctor had a pleasant personality but waiting time is ridiculous. Her staff are totally inefficient. After my discharge from a hospital I needed a script for a cat scan. The staff told me no appointments available and I must have one to get the script,I went to a walk-in and had the cat scan and they sent me via ambulance back to the hospital.CVS tried unsuccessfully and so did I to get a refill on a medication I was on for 7 years.
It is with pleasure that we write to you and tell you about Dr. Deborah Friedlander and her competent office Staff. Dr. Friedlander & her Staff deserve to be commended. Firstly, her office is immaculate. Her Staff is very accomodating whether you are a new patient or a patient who has been with Dr. Friedlander for quite some time. Each member of her Staff is the perfect person for the job each holds. Dr. Friedlander is an individual who treats each patient as if they are a member of her Family.
Dr. Friedlander is warm, conscientious and thorough. I have been impressed by the range of her knowledge and found her to be enormously perceptive, able to deal with both myself and my husband with our individuality. She deals with the patient not just the problem. I am always surprised that we are not rushed out of the office, as she listens carefully and asks thoughtful questions. I think I like that best- her ability to listen with not just a stethoscope.
Dr. Friedlander is amazing, her staff is friendly and efficient too. As her patient are not just a number you become of member of her family.
Wonderful patient centered care.
I consulted a variety of doctors and was not happy with anyone i had seen. I was recommend to Dr. Friedlander . I made an appointment as was so happy I did. She is no knowledable and the staff is amazing.
This physician has that rare combination of empathy and expertise. I have been with her for 10 years and she has navigated through my variety of health issues with ease and sincere concern. She never rushes through a visit and is very thorough which sometimes results in a bit of "wait" time. However, she is more than worth the wait. I consider myself both fortunate and blessed to have her as my Primary Care Physician.
Dr. Friedlander is an excellent physician who not only cares for her patient but is willing to discuss the situation with another physician ...example in my case, discuss with my cardiologist. I don't know how she does it all...long office hours, at the hospital early a.m. and late p.m. We are lucky to say "she is our doctor." We have referred many friends to this office and we are pleased to say they too are happy with their choice.
She is an excellent physician. She really cares for her patients and listen to your concerns.
GOOD DR
Excellent doctor and staff. Dr. Friedlander is professional, warm and friendly. She takes her time and answers all questions, concerns & issues and does not talk down to you. She is a very good diagnostician which is what I was looking for.
I was hospitalized for having what appeared to be a stroke along with a host of other symptoms. Dr. Friedlander was called in as I had no internist to oversee my care. Many tests were performed including , MRI, CT scans, echocardiogram and bloodwork. Because Dr. Friedlander is so thorough amongst the blood tests were B12 level. My levels were so low that it caused all my problems. When discharged a physical therapy come to my home to help me gain strength in my legs and my balance.
Dr. Friedlander is friendly, caring and spends the time you need. She is thorough yet efficient. This may mean a wait as she takes care of other patients.
Thank you Dr. Friedlander for being so amazing knowledgeable with your patients. The staff is also amazing.
Dr. Friedlander was my primary care physician while I was in the hospital. She visited me twice. She was very thorough, kind, and spent time with me.
She is very frank and helpful. She spends time talking with you and listening.
I went to Dr. Friedlander for the first time about a month ago and although it is soon I was quite impressed with her. I am 86 and from the era of when doctors almost were part of the family, and climbed up 5 flights of stairs to make house calls for $2.00. Well Dr. Friedlander pulls no punches and comes out and tells like it is.
Asked to come early to fill out paperwork. Waited 2 1/2 hours. As others I asked in waiting room she was very nice but that’s where it ends. Does not listen but hears what she thinks patient says. Failure to take recent health history seriously. Ignored recent blood test and did not address info from hematologist. Through more conversation most patients were there for the same reason as me. Former doc went to consierge service. Do your research befor trusting knowledge of ailments.
I can't say enough about Dr. Friedlander's care, understanding and skills. She has literally been a life saver to our family. My husband, my brother, my mom and I are all patients of Dr. Friedlander and each one of us has benefited from her thoroughness and years of experience. What a wonderful doctor!
Dr Friedlander is a warm and comforting doctor. She is extremely caring and spends the right time with her patients. Her diagnosis's is spot on and she cares. I highly recommend her,
An excellent, caring physician who listens and doesn’t over prescribe or over test. One of the best doctors my husband and I have had in many years.
Dr. Friedlander is professional, compassionate and proficient in her work. She has spent sufficient amount of time with me as a patient and is precise in her documentation of recording your medical history. She has followed up with me and returned phone calls in a timely fashion. I do not understand how one could even think about giving her a bad review. She is educated with great credentials and very knowledgeable in just about every area of the health industry. I highly recommend her and have many friends and acquaintances that feel the same way. Excellent physician. She takes her time with the patient to address any and all concerns. She also is very interactive in determining the course of care taken. She listens to the patient. I always have a very positive experience when I go to her office. The only downside is the wait time to see her. Highly recommend.
Dr. Friedlander is incredibly smart - and she is compassionate and concerned. She is one of the very best doctors I have ever used. And, her office staff are very helpful and friendly. I have recommended Dr. Friedlander to friends, and they have all been happy with the care they have received from her.
She is wonderful. Knowledgeable,, interested, patient, good manner and friendly. Took her time with my husband and myself and let me know where We stand.
Dr. Friedlander is a joy when I see her for my semi annual exams.. She is great at diagnosising and exemplary in her field.
I have and will continue to recommend her. During my wife's illness, hospitalization and death, Dr. Friedlander was very professional, caring and considerate.
Dr. Friedlander has been my GP for 5 years. She is very intelligent, proactive & a good listener. The best thing about her is that she is not an alarmist. She has the unique ability to explain a condition without the patient becoming frightened or upset. She provides support,follow-up & caring. Her response time to phone calls & inquiries is also very good. In the past, there seemed to be a problem with wait times exceeding way past appt. times, but that has been resolved. I highly recommend her.
I have been patient of Dr Friedlander for 3 years and now my whole family goes to her. Although her office is busy she takes time with me to fully understand the issue and either prescribe the proper medication, labs, or tests to get me or my family member back to normal as quickly as possible. She is a caring doctor who I trust.
Does not return phone calls; prescribes a test then, when you attempt to get information about the test, gets unhinged and screams, "Why is the test so important to you?" SHE is the one who prescribed it. Not a decent human being.
If you want a physician that will stick to her schedule, but also move you along quickly in order to do so, this is not the one you want. BUT, if you want a physician who has exception skills at diagnosis and will take the time to do her homework, and provide a comprehensive evaluation during your visit with her, Dr. Friedlander will do right by you. But, expect to wait for your appointment. She was referred to me by my cardiologist as the physician that HIS wife used! A good referral.
Through professional compassionate great match for me took forever to find a good medical partner. Thx Maryann Cohen
Dr. Friedlander is no longer my doctor. I was treated poorly on numerous occasions. I once had a 9:30 appt & upon arrival, was told she doesn't arrive until around 10:15. She criticized my medical decisions regarding my cancer treatment & became hostile when I advocated for myself. Her communication w/ office staff is poor & results in issues. A simple appointment request can turn into a nightmare as things aren't communicated properly. I've never been treated so poorly by a medical proffesional
During a recent trauma, I was hospitalized for a few days. Dr. Friedlander came to see me twice (one visit was on a Sunday) and made recommendations for my follow=-up, home care, etc. It is obvious she cares about my well-being.
Stay away - She is an awful physician, indifferent, un-engaged and does not return urgent calls often just plane rude. I have been her patient for about a year, and I have never written a negative review of a doctor before and am now leaving her practice. We all deserve better care than she provides, She works for the large for profit company, Tenet Health, that owns Delray Medical Center. Unfortunately Dr, Friedlander is the worst example of a big corporate doctor "employee". Never had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Friedlander. I was a new patient referred by UHC. Made my appointment 3 weeks in advance. Showed up at the office 30 mins before my scheduled appointment to complete new patient paperwork. Waited over an hour and ended up having to leave as i had other appointments. Her staff members were rude and offered no apology for the wait. This experience was a total waste of time. Do yourself a favor and choose another practice.
Terrible communications and follow up - does not return patient calls
Nasty, rude, and not quite sure why she is a doctor if she doesn't care about her patients. This was a disappointing experience as I felt as I left her office feeling as if my questions relating to my health went unanswered. I felt rushed and dismissed, she made me feel like I wasn't valued as a person or a patient. Her office staff was equally as rude.
Dr Friedlander is the best...She has been a life saver....
