I had numbness including strong pain from my neck and back and went to see the doctor. He seemed smart and reasonable and told me I had a strained muscle that caused a pinched nerve. He prescribed muscle relaxers, Ibuprofen and tramodol. The muscle relaxers had a bad reaction with me and cause me to be very irritable ( as I told him it usually does). I did not sleep for the next three nights and was in constant pain. I figured I just did not explain myself well enough and dealt with it. Yesterday I pulled the same muscle again and am in serious pain. Most likely there is a larger underlying issue. I went into urgent care thinking this time I will be taken care of. He is very smart but to my dismay not very reasonable. I explained the situation. I have a chiropractor appointment in two days and will find the root of the issue but I need something to help me deal with it until I can get into the Dr. He would not budge on the pain killers but would give me Valium, Xanax or other barbiturates. I do not want to be in a cloud, I just want the pain subsided. He treated me like I am four with the reasoning that the painkillers would mask the pain and I would do something to hurt myself and prolong my situation. So I sit here in pain, not sleeping, in a very bad mood because of the pain/ Muscle relaxers (Like I told him again). Save yourself the money and time and go to QFC for some Ibuprofen. If you need something stronger ,like I did, find another place. I updated it to two stars because the doctor is knowledgeable. Attentive and Friendly Staff. Came in with Back and what I thought was mild stomach pain. After Dr. Steele examined me, he determined it was best I go get checked at the ER due to another underlying health issue I have. He didn't just want to prescribe me some pills and send me on my way. I felt he was knowledgeable and generally concerned for my well being, but at the same time had a humorous, no nonsense approach. I was seen right away and Dr. Steele followed up and called me the next day to see how I was doing which was a type of service I have never received from an Urgent Care before. Generally you are just a number and get in get out, but that is not the case with Meadowbrook. They have extended hours which is a plus in the Valley and will definitely be using this as my go to Urgent Care from now on. Attentive and Friendly Staff.
