Dr. Dean John Mariano

Dr. Mariano is a very well educated doctor, with a great deal of patience. I was bitten by a dog a few years back. It caused CRPS, which I had never heard of. After quite a few months, seeing other doctors, Dr. Mariano almost immediately realized what it was. He has a wonderful personality, and I would refer anyone to him!!

way to many patients ..more like an assembly line than a doctors office. Told information that was not correct or correctly relayed to the Assistant i was put with for follow up appointment. Office staff has some very rude members. Watch out for drug screen urinalysis and double billing. and Mariano left. One day there..then just poof. I was put with a different doctor after almost 6 years and they immediately cut medications IN HALF. Save yourself the agony..find a different office!!

Dr. Mariano was awesome with treating the pain in my lower back. The injections lasted to reduce pain significantly. When he wanted to try another procedure to extend the time between treatments, the Insurance Company declined coverage. He did great things while I was seeing him and had great solutions to my issue. Unfortunately I have a lousy Insurance Plan that will allow progressive procedures to treat the patient and not worry always about the bottom line.

This guy is top notch. I had been going to another pain management in Plainville, Ct. who never listened to me and was unsuccessful in relieving my discomfort. Dr. Mariano listened and treated my symptoms. I will always recommend him. Sincerely, pleased with his services. He helped me avoid back surgery.

Dean Mariano is one of the most intelligent doctors i have known in Midstate Medical Center. i would recommend him to anyone in any pain situation if they truly want relief. He is caring with his patients and wants what is best for them.

I was treated in 2010 by Dr. Mariano for lower back pain from an old discectomy at L5/S1with only limited success. He put me through his usual series of facet and joint injections (about a dozen shots) which relieved some pain but not the clawing and severe sciatic to my foot that I originally walked in with. After giving up on him, I found a new pain mngmt doctor at UCONN Health who solved the pain COMPLETELY with two fast injections straight into the discs at L5 and L4. PAIN FREE in lower back and foot ever since! Dr. Mariano's practice is now overrun with too many patients, long appointment waits including horrible waiting room waits and an appointment scheduler who prefers to leave you one voice mail a day and documents that she did her job, but never answers live and you could wait three weeks playing voice mail tag just trying to get a call to get the appointment, especially now b/c they require referral forms first from previous physician. Had series of facet and joint injects that worked wonderfully! Previously had injection in right hip which was terrifically painful. They had put freezing in syringe with steroid and freezing did not work that way!

Dr Mariano took the time to go over exactly what was going to be done,how it would help and how long it would take to see results. My main question to him was why this procedure. He went into such detail on how my injury affected my body where I'm experiencing the pain. He made me realize that I'm not going crazy and how although the main impact was on my coccyx, my pelvis also took a hit and unlike a sprained arm it can't be mobilized with a cast. He's a God without having the God complex.
