Dean Evan Firschein

Very misinformed doctor and unwilling to learn. I keep finding out more all the time about how wrong he was in his medical knowledge. It is unbelievable how wrong he was, and how much confidence he had in saying what he was wrong about. I put way too much confidence in his opinion.

Stay away from this doctor, especially if you are seeking help with MCAS. He tested me for it on my first visit, but he did not understand how to run the tests correctly or how to interpret the results. His mistake derailed my medical care for 3 years. Meanwhile my attacks worsened to the point of interfering with my ability to work, and I repeatedly asked for help, but he dismissed my symptoms and did nothing. I have shown him numerous research papers and publications and patient stories to illustrate diagnostic standards for MCAS, but he ignores it all. I had to insist on additional testing, and the results DO support a diagnosis, but he still denies it as "not likely." It was his idea to begin with. He never established a proper standard of care, then terminated me when I tried to hold him accountable to one. Worst of all he never documented my drug reactions properly, and wanted to prescribe for me without considering dangerous side effects. Dismissive gaslighting and no empathy.

Long wait times. Once I saw this doctor walk through the waiting room and out the front door for what appeared to be his lunch break, while I was still waiting for my appointment and it was already way past my appointment time. You have to ask yourself what sort of person does that, almost like they want to flaunt it in front of you and let you know how unimportant you are.

I was referred here by gastro hoping to get food allergy testing. Dr. Firschein instead wanted to test respiratory allergies. I had a bad reaction to skin testing so then he wanted to have me evaluated for another problem. All of this led me down a long rabbit trail that did not resolve any of my really pressing health issues, and distracted or prejudiced other doctors from finding the real problem. His nurse says that he went "above and beyond" for me. If he did, it made things worse. Ironically he never actually treated my allergies. He seems to be a very nice person, but the nurses are very rude and pushy. Somehow it doesn't add up, it feels like there is something very wrong with this practice.

Worst allergist on the planet. Dr Firschein had me pay a boatload of money out of pocket directly to him for a non effective non FDA approved treatment,when my insurance company was willing to pay for the cure the whole time. Dr Firschein is the very definition of a total hack

I want to share a experience that lasted for many yrs. My daughters name is Casey Looney ( married now for 10 yrs married name is Hightower), but because of Dr. Firschein, Dr. McKean and the good Lord, my now 30 yr old is a beautiful healthy mother of 2 girls and expecting another. Please let Doc. Know about Casey. I owe you guys more than money or thank you's . You gave me my daughter back and words can never express how we feel about you both. God Bless you both! Well, where do I begin. I was bitten by a tick that possibly infected me where I can't eat red meat. It has taken 4 weeks to set up an appointment. I called the business office to see if I would be able to pay my Co-Pay ($50.00) two days after the appointment. I called 5 days before this appointment to see if they would work with me. Was told "absolutely NOT" if you cant pay when you come. we cant see you!!!! Corporation over patient care.

This doctor is probably the best doctor I have ever come into contact with. The entire office is probably the best office I've ever come into contact with. A few of the words I would use to describe Dr. Firschein would be: highly intelligent, straight to the point, warm, caring, assertive, and determined. Thank you Dr. Firschein for taking such excellent care of our daughter today.
