Dr. David C Whitehead

I was referred by my primary for a colonoscopy. The communication ball kept getting dropped by Dr Whitehead's staff after the initial consult, I thought I waiting to get the exact date and time. Prep info was also supposed to be mailed to me. I had received no mail or email or phone calls when suddenly the hospital calls me the day before i was apparently scheduled. I had no prescription for the gross stuff you are supposed to drink, none of the prep options had been explained to me. I obviously couldn't do it on such short notice. The hospital cancelled the procedure of course. Though various departments kept calling, apparently not realizing I had been cancelled. I finally reach Dr. Whitehead's office. The staff did apologize and try to reschedule me. They finally, after many holds and transfers, arranged for me to see a completely different Doctor's office. BECAUSE, wait for it, Dr Whitehead fired me for being a no show! I did not make this up, hahaha. I have no wish to ever see such an arrogant p**** anyway. So that's freaking fine by me. Do not bother with this doctor. Save yourself the grief.

Took 2 months to be seen. After talking to the nurse and waiting 45 minutes, whitehead came in and announced that I needed a colonoscopy. No questions, barely any dialogue, went straight to colonoscopy. 2 months later, I had the procedure. Turns out a supplement I was taking was giving me the strange symptoms, and didn’t need any surgery at all. Now I’m stuck with a $4500 hospital bill for nothing. I’ve since heard lots of bad things about him and wish I were as smart as you and checked his reviews first. Run! Took 2 months to be seen. I don’t agree with these negative reviews. I wasn’t there to shoot the breeze. He explained everything and did a great job on my colonoscopy. If he’s fast, it doesn’t bother me. I like him. Good doctor…

Rudest staff ever. Spent less than 1 min with me. Didn’t ask any questions. Very unprofessional.

I wouldn’t even give this doctor one star. There was 2 employees sitting at a desk that were fairly empathetic and tried to be helpful is the only reason for the 1 star. I worked for a stellar doctor for 39 years so I know how patient care should be. I have never been so disappointed in a doctor visit in my life. For 2 years my adult sons primary doctor had been trying to get my son to this “specialist” for a second opinion about his liver function/ failure. My son kept canceling appointments but as his health continued to decline we were finally able to convince him to go for the appointment. What a total waste of time for him to take off work and drive 50 miles in the pouring rain to be not even examined by this man. This “doctor” truly maintained a 6 foot distance during the entire 3 minute visit. He didn’t examine his stomach where he has major ascites. He never looked at his legs where he has 4+ pitting edema. We had put a lot of faith into persuading my son to go see this “doctor” only to leave feeling worse than when we arrived. I will never ask him to go back to an appointment there again. Wow terrible office staff non caring. What is happening to the medical field. Remember the person on the other side of the counter could be you one day! So would I recommend no! Don’t do it!

Absolutely love this office, everyone had very good attitude, very helpful and work very hard to find out why I have been in so much pain. The nurses are great, receptionist all have smiles and greet with courtesy. Highly recommend Dr.Whitehead and all his associates.

Short wait. Dr. Whitehead recommended a procedure after reading my PET scan results more specific to my oneeds. Answered all questions. Outgoing and friendly. Staff was very good also.

This guy took poor care of my wife. He was rude and unprofessional. He also never figured out what was wrong. I don’t recommend this place as his staff is rude, too. ????????

I went to a consultation for my husband to have a colonoscopy with Dr. Whitehead. I had never had one because I had always said, I am not doing that. My husband looked at Dr. Whitehead and said Dr. Whitehead, my wife has never had one, he asked me why, I said I don't want one. He looked at his staff and said please set Mr and Mrs. Foster up for a colonoscopy next week. Needless to say I felt like my husband threw me under the bus. So lucky that he did. When the doctor performed my procedure, he found that I had colon cancer. Luckily it had not penetrated the wall of the colon. That was on Friday morning. He conferred with Dr. Kitchen who was out of town, I was admitted into the hospital on Sunday and I had surgery to remove about 18 inches of my colon on Monday. Those two doctors saved my life. I owe a big debt of gratitude to Dr. Whitehead for his early find. He is a great doctor and I would recommend him to anyone and have. Several of our friends are now scheduled.

Awful bedside manner. Very unprofessional...find a different doctor in the practice!

My colonoscopy procedure went well. No problems with Dr. Whitehead. But the billing department sent me a bill for the entire amount charged, and when I called, said that Medicare had rejected my claim. I called Medicare and they said they had the claim and my responsibility was less than one tenth of the amount the Lab was trying to get from me. The Medicare Rep I was talking to called the billing department and had them send me another bill with the correct amount I owed. I don't know if this was an an intention to fraud Medicare or just plain old lazy incompetence. Either way, not a very good business practice. My colonoscopy procedure went well. This doctor is in a big hurry with patients. I don’t recommend him. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a medical provider. I should have listened to my gut after he and his nurse brushed off my questions and shopped around for a better doctor.

If I could give less than one star for a Rating i would, yet this will have to suffice. This facility is unprofessional and is only after your money. They do not care for patient well being at all. The 'Doctor' David Whitehead is a HORRIBLE PERSON and should never be trusted. If possible go elsewhere and don't waste your time or money in his office, you'll just get misdiagnosed and have an even bigger problem on your hands. Please go else where and seek a REAL medical professional if you consider your health even remotely important. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Bad experience here, would not recommend to a new patient. horrible doctor. Go elsewhere and seek true medical help.

If you can find a better doctor. This man does not care about patient well being, he has a know it all demeanor and staff in the facility are rude. Unprofessional and Very DISAPPOINTING.

Dr. Whitehead has saved the lives of 2 of my family members; my husband, who had a bleeding ulcer several years ago & more recently my father, who had a blocked bile duct. Dr. Whitehead systematically diagnosed each case. Our family’s confidence in him is 2nd to none. He is very easy to talk to, taking time to listen to any concerns from the patient and family. He actually accompanied a nurse to take one family member to surgery to expedite the procedure. That spoke volumes about this doctor!

At my consultation, he didn't let me tell him about my long term stomach problems as I continue to go to ER. He immediately said I have no problems because I don't look MALNOURISHED!! This was after only a few seconds of entering the room. Spent no time assessing me and as quickly as he spoke he left room. Still having serious problems just as my dad, he has Crohns and diverticulitis! At my consultation, he didn't let me tell him about my long term stomach problems as I continue to go to ER. I TOTALLY disagree with the negative comments posted. So, in short, I do not visit the medical field often. In fact, rarely do I go to a doctor. I had the most wonderful consultation with Dr. Whitehead prior to my Colonoscopy. Doc's bed side manners were literally second to none. Really made me feel very comfortable. The staff which he employs are over and beyond any that I have dealt with in many years. I loved the service so much that I scheduled my endoscopy the following month. What a Team!

Such a rude doctor. Told me there was nothing wrong with me. 2nd opinion proves otherwise. He was so hateful and rude. Never will I return to his office or recommend him to any family or friends.

O stars. This man is a fool. Do not go to him. I went to him 10 years ago for stomach issues and losing weight and he continually harassed me and called me the medicaid pt. My husband worked for the hospital next door to his office. Nothing wrong with medicaid ps , I am a social worker. Next he claimed I had anorexia. . I hate when Dr diagnose and Treat without so much as laying a hand or running a test. Then tell you what your problem is before you can even open your mouth.

My visit to the office was okay but my experience with the dr was poorly done, there was a few questions and he was gone and i was out to the door, very impersonal. I felt the doctor didn't understand just how bad i felt and didn't even offer pain medicine since i was informed regular pain killers would cause more issues and problems with my liver and kidney. I had to ask the receptionist if the doctor was going to give me something for the pain. The day of the ultrasound the tech said they found significant findings at 10am. I went the whole day without a phone call from the doctor or nurse as to my condition. Had to wait the whole weekend and first thing Monday at noon i call and i'm told that it's notated on my chart that a nurse would call me AFTER all of his other patients were taken care of. So another 5 hours go by and I've still not received news on what the doctor is going to do about my gallbladder, and now I have to wait until Tuesday to call them again.I'm very disappointed in the way they have treated me. It's as if i'm just another paycheck for his office and nothing more. I don't recommend anyone to deal with his office unless they want to be given the run around about their condition.
