Best treatment you will ever get from any doctors offices around Hall County/ Buford area. Doctors here actually care about you and follow up. I had multiple calls from my personal doctor asking me how I was feeling. This is something I never experienced before. I love this place. It feels great to know I can rely on true care and rehabilitation when I need a real Doctor. Thank you Ortho-Atl staff. I owe y'all my livelyhood. Doctor Stokes Helped me in so many ways And Even Helped me when other Doctors told me I had to loose my Arm And That was over 15 years and still have it( Blessed To Have you As My Doctor and Friend )

I first was first seen by Dr. Stokes in 2014, while I was being treated for cancer. His bedside manner is the same now as it was in 2014. Dr Stokes and staff are very good at what they do, thank you Sir.

Piedmont Orthopedics stepped in a couple of years ago when my initial surgeon recommended Dr. Stokes. From my initial meeting to three surgeries later, performed all by Dr. Stokes, I confidently would recommend Dr. Stokes, his team and practice to anyone looking for orthopedic services.

I have been going to Dr. Stokes for many years. He is an excellent doctor. He provides alternative treatments with surgery as a last option. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. I was called back to my appointment early and seen very quickly. I spent less than an hour total and recieved professional care!!

The Office staff and Dr. Stokes are the best I highly recommend them for your Orthopedic needs.

My first ever visit to Dr.Stokes office. Staff was wonderful,and Dr.Stokes himself a true legend.Recommended to me by a close friend, I truly enjoyed my visit to his office Thank you all out there .

I like it at Ortho Atlanta because they are always on time.Everyone there is very friendly, helpful and concerned about my care. The doctors, PA’s and nurses are all very professional and do a great job resolving my problems. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing orthopedic care.

Do to a fall I was hurting and the appointment clerk found a appointment within a couple of hours. For this alone I am very appreciative. I was able to see Dr. Stokes. who immediately provided relief and advice for further treatment. Thanks!

Dr Stokes did a total reverse right shoulder replacement surgery for me a week ago....he did an amazing job. Off pain pills in 3 days after being in pain for years. Not without some discomfort but every day it gets better and not worse. Hope to play golf in 6 months after not being able to play for so long. Hope I remember how.

Took time to explain what was going on with my knee and what could be done for improvement with out surgery.

I went to Dr. Stokes for a second opinion about a broken fifth metatarsal. The first doctor I saw wanted to do surgery right away. Dr. Stokes told me that the bone should heal fine on it's on. If you're looking for a doctor who is not scalpel happy, but more conservative in his approach to medicine, Dr. Stokes is your fellow. He's very nice, too. I heartily endorse and enthusiastically recommend Dr. David Stokes, PA Nicki Peters, and PT Pooja Kalaria. You cannot go wrong by selecting them for your orthopedic care. I've had problems with right shoulder pain since 2005. It got worse and worse as the year went by, even though I went through PT and home exercises. In 2017, my MD told me was going to send me to the best shoulder guy in Atlanta, Dr. David Stokes. Dr. Stokes turned out to be exactly like my MD: warm, friendly, approachable, incredibly knowledgeable. He evaluated my shoulder, looked at the X-rays my MD took, and told me that my shoulder was osteoarthritic from years of wear and tear. No cartilage. Bone against bone. The only option left was a total shoulder replacement. We scheduled it for early December, 2019. The operation went exceedingly well. Dr. Stokes has great surgical skills and a fantastic bedside manner. He has a calming, reassuring personality, which is exactly what you need in circumstances like this.

After about three years of that -- including HA injections that didn't help at all -- the only option left was a total shoulder replacement. We scheduled it for early December, 2019. The operation went exceedingly well. Dr. Stokes has great surgical skills and a fantastic bedside manner. He has a calming, reassuring personality, which is exactly what you need in circumstances like this. I have to mention Nicki Peters, who assisted before, during, and after the surgery. She's terrific, knows her stuff, and she's friendly as well. After that kind of surgery, you expect to go through hell for the first couple of weeks, and yes, I did. But after about a month of wearing a sling 24/7, I was ready for outside physical therapy. I had PT with Pooja Kalaria, who is exceptional in her knowledge and technical skill. She is friendly and nice, but she really gave me some tough tasks in my rehab, and kept pushing me to get my shoulder's range of motion, strength, and flexibility back to normal. I quickly got those attributes mostly back and was released after nine weeks. Since then, my shoulder has gone all the way back to normal! My shoulder feels fantastic, and I owe it all to everyone at the Lawrenceville office of OrthoAtlanta.

Dr. Stokes repair my rotator cuff several years ago. His follow-up staff was excellent and I couldn’t have asked for a better team.

Dr. Stokes provided exceptional treatment for my rotator cuff repair. I had surgery in June 2020 to repair a major tear in my supraspinatus. The surgery was a success and I have regained much of my mobility and working on the strength.

Made time for me (same day), very little wait, He and "Kat" were awesome! Friendly, great attitudes, willing to take the time to answer even my "little" questions.

I highly recommend Dr Stokes and his PA Nikki.

I have had both rotator cuffs repaired by Dr. Stokes. The most recent surgery 4/27/20. Dr. Stokes is a great physician with a wonderful bedside manner as well as his personality. I highly recommend Piedmont Orthopedics, as well as the physical therapy group. Outstanding!

I have had multiple ortho surgeries for knee, shoulder, neck, and carpel tunnel. My best experience by far was with Dr. Stokes for a shoulder replacement surgery. Wish I had used him for all of my other surgeries. He and Nicole provide outstanding care before and after the surgery.

He came in smiling with a handshake as greeted me..asked the questions and asked if i had some for him..went over file..exam..told me what he was doing..laughed.. talked..made me feel at ease..did what expected from a Dr. and he's a good..as they say..he had good bedside manners..knew his stuff...caring n nice attitude..

I went to another Orthopedic doctor for 2 months. The doctor did not listen to me and I realized i needed a 2nd opinion. I made an appointment with Dr. Stokes. He showed the difference of my xrays I brought. We scheduled surgery and now I am on my way to recovery. I am so glad for 2nd opinions and thankful for a doctor who actually listens.

This was my first experience. It was excellent. I was quickly signed in and all the paper work was taken care of very quickly. I waited about 5 minutes and then was brought back to the exam room. Some quick questions and then x-rays were taken. A short time later Dr. Stokes came in to examine my shoulder and he worked through a solution for me.

Resurgence want to do immediate surgery on my daughters shoulder (she broke it skiing). I signed all the paperwork to have surgery that Friday as they pressured me saying she could have long term damage. I left the office and felt this pull to get a second opinion as I didn't like the pushiness of the doctor/staff. I call my friend who is a nurse. She looked up the top rated and gave me 2 numbers. Dr. Stokes was one of the recommendations. As soon as we went into his office and met him. I knew he was the perfect doctor for us. He looked at her CT and he said "this is not an immediate decision and it is not an emergency surgery situation". This is a wait and see what happens situation. He said that the surgery was a complicated one that had risks and the outcome was not perfect. The doctor at resurgence never mentioned any of this to us. Dr. Stokes asked us to wait 3 weeks to see what gravity would do with her slightly twisted bone. Within those 3 weeks you could clearly see that it was twisting back into place and healing on it's own. He said "I see no reason for surgery". It is 2 years later and my daughter is 100% perfect. So glad I went with my gut and got a second opinion. Second story. My husband ripped his meniscus. Dr Stokes did his surgery a year ago. I highly recommend this doctor. Personal, makes you feel important and does not rush. He has done more for me in one visit than my doctor at school did in 5 months.

Dr. Stokes has done an excellent job of taking care of my orthopedic issues including right and left shoulder surgeries!! He has taken such good care of me or so long I consider him a friend and truly believe he cares about my best interest and getting my issues taken care of. I highly recommend Dr Stokes for his wonderful bedside manner along with his kind care!! I can't say enough great things about office staff as well!

Dr. Stokes replaced my left knee in 2011. While the recovery was long and painful, my knee is great now, and I can do anything with it. I have referred a number of people to this outstanding doctor.
