Excellent doctor and staff Dr David Smith and his team are wonderful workers and great staffs

Absolutely the worst experience! This elderly out of touch excuse of a surgeon advised my 15 year old daughter who's breast are so large(36O and growing) she has very little quality of life. That she would be able to get a breast reduction this summer. He didn't advise that if her growth plates weren't completely fused at yer wrist that she wouldn't be able to have the procedure. He simply said she would have to see a chiropractor as she saw the other specialist to get approval. He got her hopes up, made her think that the light at the end of the tunnel was real this time, and then had a dirt from his office call as casual and care free as could be that nope, surgery won't happen for atleast another year. Such incompetence! Suck poor communication! Such a lack compassion from this office. Disgusted is an massive understatement! Find a younger surgeon with a better bed side manner, you deserve so much better than what this office demonstrated with my daughter.

I had a breast reduction March 2022. My results are better than I could've hoped for. The resident surgeons were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and concern. My initial appt was brief and to the point and addressed all matters. My post-op appt was quick and addressed my healing process. Thanks Dr. Smith.

Dr smith performed my Panniculectomy and it was a very pleasant experience. I’ve been having issues exercising and losing the remainder of my weight naturally without weight loss surgery and I sought out having my apron removed to live a better quality of life. My BMI is still on the higher end and he didn’t judge me for that at all. I’m extremely pleased with the results and extremely happy with how he and his staff treated me. He’s not really a get to know you kind of doctor. He wants to do his job and move on. If you’re looking for someone who really wants to hold your hand every single step of the way, he may not be for you. The entire staff and students are wonderful. If I could tell you how smith is you would think I’m lying. That man messed me up and his students he left me scarred for life. My breast reduction still looks like the 1st day that I got them done since 2017 smh. I got a hole from the stitches and since I got them done he never saw me ever again. To call this man or anyone in his practice a professional is a joke. My daughter was utterly devastated that a local doctor cannot perform laser surgery for her skin grafts from her burn injuries that she incurred 10 years ago. She had been receiving regular treatments in Gainesville, and we hoped to find a good doctor close to home. If I could have 0 stars for David that would be my post. I wish that I could know the names of every student this man is teaching. I wouldn’t go to any of them. My daughter’s surgery was 10/2018. I knew what her 5” incision looked like when we left the hospital because no one bothered covering it. Well my daughter got Mrsa and the incision started opening up. It happened on a Wednesday morning so we were able to see Dr Smith seeing how that’s the only time he sees patients. 8-12:30 So the incision was oozing and Smith said it looked fine 5 days after the operation and dismissed us, we didn’t need to see him again. I told him that day that she had MRSA really no comment. My daughter’s pediatrician tested for Mrsa . One week later we went back to the teaching school to see Smith to show him the half dollar size hole in my daughters back where the incision was. It really was no big deal to him. Smith had his resident student show me how to pack it with medicine and then shoved a 4” course gause in the hole and covered it with gause. NO NO NO I am pretty sure that if this was the Dr daughter this isn’t how it would have been done. The scar with thin skin on my daughters back was as wide as the opening and the glued area that didn’t open up the scar there was an inch wide. When you try to get ahold of someone for Dr Smith it is truly a nightmare. Takes forever. My daughter had to have repair surgery last week used a plastic surgeon who cared about his patients actually gives his cell number to reach him. I never saw what my daughter’s incision looked like for 3 days. That’s how long it was before I removed it for her to shower. Not only did she have a bandage on but she also has a dura tape on the incision. I cannot say enough about her new Real Plastic Surgeon. DR DAVID SMITH THATS A BIG NO FOR ME! My son has Hidradenitis Suppuritiva, a bothersome chronic skin disease. Dr. David Smith, along with his staff, have been a Blessing to my son Joseph aka JoJo. It's an feeling meeting a doctor that's familiar with HS. My son is currently recovering from his second surgery, both performed by Dr. Smith . Dr. Smith did my surgery. I had a neurostimulater put in my back. Everyone was Awsome with me. Especially the Dr. He made me feel comfortable. I'm about to get my battery changed out for a better one. So I'm hoping he will be the one to do it. Very good surgeon.

I had to give a star 0 wasn’t an option. Just find another doctor in general don’t waste your time. He was unprofessional, rude, and made my wife feel like less than a person. She felt humiliated and completely furious about how he treated her. This isn’t some indictment on bedside manner either, he completely ignored us wouldn’t even acknowledge that we were speaking he just put his hands up and waved them around anytime we spoke. All he cares about is bossing around his residents. He went as far as to ask who referred us so he could put down that doctors opinion but would not take the time to give his thoughts as to why he was mad about it. So we left with zero new information and questioning the other doctors opinion but got zero information out of him other than we shouldn’t have came. So please read this and find someone else for your own good. The office staff was courteous and helpful but that doesn’t help with any medical problems you may have. Dr Smith and the entire team at USF and TGH were AMAZING. I was nervous about my first ever surgery, but Dr Smith was incredibly kind and relaxed. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. I am 5 months post op and I am extremely happy with the results. I had a breast reduction and I couldn’t have picked a better surgeon. Resd this and if you are in the waiting room get up ask for a refund and leave He doesn’t care one bit about the patient all He cares-about is bossing residents around and teaching them to be crappy doctors He did nothing but treat my wife like crap and do his best to make her feel less than a person I should have listened to the other reviews but I didn’t so Dont make my mistake and don’t waste your time and money He did nothing but ignore questions and talk badly about the dr who referred us.

Warning! I had surgery and now live deformed! I had a breast reduction without adaquate care. Subsequently, I had to have emergency surgery to save my life and hospitalized. Months after I had to have an RN come to my home to help care for me. It took me over a year to recover physically but mentally I am not sure if I ever will be ok! Investigate your doctors very extensively! Your life depends on it!

Warning! Proceed with extreme caution! Your health and life depends on it! I did not have proper follow up care after surgery and I almost lost my life. I was hospitalized and had emergency surgery. I had an RN at home to take care of me for months! I am deformed and mentally scared forever!

Dr Smith was very friendly and answered all my questions. The entire staff at USF and TGH were just as amazing. I am thrilled with my breast reduction! I couldn’t have picked a better surgeon. I am so glad I gave him a chance after reading the other reviews.

Terrible experience! He DOES NOT perform the procedure. A resident does, and he is not even present in the room nor will he ask you if it's okay if the resident does the procedure. Received no information before or after the surgery.

Worst Experience I've had dealing with a doctor. Not very personable and referred all my questions to his assistant Laura... Laura who couldn't answer any of my questions while I was in the office but who told me she would follow up with a phone call. She never called, never returned multiple phone calls. Now am being charged for something that was never a part of the initial visit. Also, Dr Smith doesn't do the surgery, a resident does. When it comes to plastic surgery, not worth it!!

Each time I had a question, doctor would interrupt me, was curt, and almost unwilling to give me an answer. He comes across as a know it all, yet seems to know nothing or unwilling to answer questions. This was a very bad experience. I do not recommend him at all.
