Can not describe how horrible dental experience I have experienced when I used to see Dr. Shapter! Very rude to me and others ! I don’t appreciate at all for a lot of times, SEVERAL occasions treated me with complete disrespect AND spoke to me with Condescending tone of voice ! I have personally experienced severe DENTAL anxiety/phobia and PTSD from horrid experiences from his office as a young child. Never again will ever recommend this office to anyone! Very unprofessional! I have never want back to him! Glad I left his office for good!!!! Never want to deal that office ever! His office used to be on PEACH street, across from store and PNC bank! I have been calling since Tuesday and not one person has called me back. Nobody answers the phone. The emergency extension does not even work

Why all this negative reviews. Honestly it is a great safe place professional work to take you child in. Dr Shapter Daivd did a great job filling cavity on my child teeth was very very nice with my child. This place worth more than 5 stars????

RUDE and UNNECESSARY! Belittled and berated my 6 year old daughter because she was nervous! I will NEVER go back to that office. DR SHAPTER SHOULD NOT BE WORKING WITH CHILDREN!!!!

I can’t not rate this place high enough! Took my 6 year old to get two fillings today, I was blow away by the doctor and her assistant! They made my little girl feel so secure, talked to her the whole time and spoke in terms she would understand (even using her fav Frozen characters). It was a flawless, quick procedure! I did not read any reviews prior to going to the office and I am shocked for our experience was not negative at all! However, prior to going to pediatric dental care in Erie we did go to port Matilda which was HORRIBLE! Dr Shapter is extremely Thorough and I feel so much happier and comfortable leaving my children’s dental care in his hands then our prior dental experience in state college. My daughter received Xrays(state college never bothered to do) as well as a cleaning&very thorough exam. My two year old needs ALOT OF WORK!&being we traveled 1.5hr to get there was being a complete toddler screaming&wanting to leave the entire time we were there!It def required a lot of patience from us alll&the dr said It seems like it’s nap time& I can understand after such long ride.My kids were asked not to touch the dental assist chair but if I seen them doing it as my back was turned when they were I would have told them the same!!The assistant walked me out& then the dr actually stopped me before the elevator&explained again what we were going to do& I expressed how worried I was about all the treatment my son needed he tried to reassure me that his care is a priority& not to worry he would ensure we would get back in as soon as possible to get my son the dental procedure he needs. He even left me a voicemail on the way home again reassuring me, giving me the emergency number along with instructions for sending pictures etc if anything should happen in the meantime prior to scheduling for my sons surgery. I did not leave feeling any other way then finally relieved to find a pediatric dentist that not only was VERY thorough but VERY caring! He’s a good dentist very good dentist. But him, himself.. is a jerk. I’ve been taking my daughter to see him for six years. As long as I’m quiet and ignore him... but today he went to far with his comments and my son. My son is a strong willed three year old. And you want to sit there and knock my parenting and tell me to push down on my sons herniated belly button.

Dr. Shapter is rude to the point of being hostile. I've never met any professional who acted more angry, petulant, and aggressive. It's probably because he is one of those officious short guys with poor self esteem. But that's not our problem. Find another pediatric dentist.

Only reason we have gone to this office is because it is one of the only in the area that accepts our insurance. Dr. Shapter has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I have had to deal with personally and as a parent. He is rude, condescending and completely lacks respect for others (including patients, parents and his employees). They prefer you don’t go back with your child, which is unsettling, but I honestly believe it is so parents have as little contact as possible with him because of his incredibly rude behavior. Their waiting room is cramped, unclean and smells. Front office staff is less than friendly, and their schedule is always overbooked. Best dentist for children hands down. The first visit you go back with your kids, and he gets to know you and your children. He will find out your habits, good and bad. He will show you what your doing right and what your doing wrong. I have seen people get insulted when he shows them how to brush teeth properly but, to be a good parent we are there to learn and we did. No need to get insulted. My three girls loved Dr Shapter. He took good care of them, he was so good that they eventually were no longer afraid to go to the dentist , one of them even wants to be a dentist. Bringing my children here was the best choice i have ever made for them as far as medical professionals go. great dentist and on the ball staff. dr. shapter is one of the few, if not the only pediatric dentist in town that will perform outpatient surgery on children insured by access. he doesn't have to, but he does. guess he cares more about the oral health of children than he does about money. that makes him more than alright in my book!!!

I started bringing my oldest son here when he was barley over 1, so now a little over 5 years later I have my oldest and youngest son going here and I have never been happier. Sadly we are leaving to a different dentist for insurance reasons but I will gladly come back should something change! I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Shapter and this clinic. My two grandchildren are treated there and everyone is very patient and caring. Dr. Shapter is wonderful and shows care and concern for these children everytime we go. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. We travel two hours to this clinic as we live rural and have no pediatrics services in our small town. i would continue having them cared for there even if there was another clinic closer.
