David Robert Schmidt

Dr. Schmidt performed an appendectomy on me. He did a great job. I really appreciate his personal approach and I knew from the first minute I met him I was in good hands. He made sure I understood the procedure and answered all of my questions - he spent a lot of time with me which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Schmidt if you are in need of a surgeon. Added bonus - Piedmont is a great hospital.

I schedule a consultation with Dr David. This is an appt that was made about six weeks ago. I called the office to find out if they accept the insurance that I have.i was told yes they do. Then this morning of my visit the office called to inform me that they don't take the insurance that I have. I am in pain for a inguinal hernia that I have. Now I am in a dire situation to find a doctor who would take this insurance. What a shame that we live in the USA, and have to deal with this kind of irresponsible behavior and practice. I hope nobody else have to go through this .

Dr. Schmidt is the ultimate professional who is an expert in his field. I was extremely worried about having hernia surgery but after many years I finally got up the courage to move forward with it. After doing my research I felt most comfortable selecting Dr. Schmidt as my surgeon. As it turned out I chose correctly. There was unforeseen complications. He repaired several hernias in one complex operation. It’s been 90 days since my surgery and I’m feeling fine. He was wonderful throughout the entire process. Fatima and his staff also deserve praise. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery.

I visited this Dr with severe abdominal pain and noticeable swelling that came in conjunction with back pain from a previously diagnosed herniated disc. Several tests including ultrasound and Ct scan were ordered. Dr Schmidt believed I had a hernia, possibly a Spigelian hernia. When no hernia was detected on the tests that were done I was told I had 2 options. 1.”Live with it” 2. “Have exploratory surgery” Obviously the phrase “Live with it” was not expected or a choice. I never felt a genuine care or concern as a patient. I had a second opinion and was told by Dr. he did not suspect there was a hernia and thought the pain was in relation to my back and a possible pinched nerve. I had asked Dr Schmidt at 2nd appointment if this was a possibility and he dismissed it and stated that “they don’t usually relate the 2 conditions” I have appt with Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. While I realize not all symptoms can be instantly diagnosed, I hoped for a better experience.

If you're old, don't go see this monster alone. He convinced my mom a biopsy was safer than a camera procedure. Once under the knife, he removed her entire pancreas for no reason other than he thought she was an old lady with no family. She bled to death. RUN. FOR. YOUR. LIFE. Thank you thank you thank you! EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for David R Schmidt and the care I received from the entire staff at Piedmont Hospital throughout my laparoscopic hernia surgery. I Thank God for Dr. Schmidt and I cant say enough how pleased I am from my first experience with a surgery in my life in my 49 years. I wish i could say more, do more, and express more how grateful I am.

Inguinal hernia repair It has held up for years...despite my tendency to overdo things. Abdominal hernia repair. (I am 81 years old...looks like I might have overdone it this time. Having said that, I will go back to Dr. Schmidt for another look-see and do what he tells me to do. My R.N. daughter and other R.N.s all tell me the same thing, "His patients all do so well.")

Excellent quality care. Saw him At Piedmont surgical group. Very professional. Surgery went perfect. Highly recommended

Dr. Schmidt had to do emergency surgery on me for a partial bowel obstruction and strangulated hernia at Piedmont Hospital. He made emergency arrangements at the hospital for surgery at 9pm. I am so thankful that Dr.Schmidt is so skilled and competent as a surgeon. My wife and I have been his patient for over 15 years now. Doing what was right for my care was his utmost priority. I highly recommend Dr. Schmidt as a surgeon and he always has treated me and my wife with total respect. His calm demeanor has always been so appreciated.

Dr David Schmitt is one of the best surgeons in Gwinnett County. I have known him for at least 25 years and would recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, professional, very smart, knowledgeable physician. Three of my family members have used him. One member was very sick and I took to him for ten years. Dr. Schmidt is the best. Was suffering with from severe diverticulitis that kept putting me in the hospital. He did the surgery laprascopicly and I have not had any reoccurring problems. Was home 1 1/2 days after removing a foot of my colon.

I know Dr. DAVID SCHMIDT for 20 years . He is AMAZING SURGEON!! I would recommend him with 5 STARS WITH NO QUESTIONS!!

Best surgeon ever with a very professional team!

The office staff was very friendly, accommodating and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. David Schmidt!

This is my first time in this office to see Dr. Schmidt Everyone was very nice, and it is nice to be treated well when you are a patient in need of help. I was very well taken care of. It feels good to leave the office and get a text asking how I’m doing. Really nice.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Schmidt since 2008. He has done several surgeries on both of us! I have an upcoming surgery that I am quite nervous about, I know I'm in the best of hands and all will go well as it always has, in the past! From the staff in the office, Dr. Schmidt, & Debbie! Dr.Schmidt was the best..ihad part of my thyroid gland and thyriod removed..i was so scared but my doc make me feel easy and he made me feel comfortable of what i had to face...he explain everything clear, he answer all my questions.i am at 3 weeks after my surgery getting better by the days..thank you Dr.Schmidt
