Best primary care physician in the area-

This used to be a great office. A year and a half ago I would have given it 5 stars. I NEEDED to see the doctor a few days ago for a physical and general updates. Because I didn't know how to use a new kiosk, I was late and my appointment cancelled even tho no other patients were present. I called them today to let them know I would be leaving them and the clerk just hung up on me. I feel more affirmed than ever about leaving this now horrible place. I love the staff and Dr. Prelutsky. He’s all about my concerns and includes me in on my choices. Best doctor I’ve had ever ????????‍♂️????

I tried to make an appointment today 2/20/19 for April with Dr P. but the secretary/office administrator, a male was having none of it. I take responsibility for not communicating well, but when he addressed me as honey I drew the line. I asked him politely not to call me that. He pretty much cut me off saying he could not help me and hung up. Possibly he was having a bad day. I will not be going there because the first contact was uncivil and I could not get an appointment. I am very sorry the poor man I spoke to was having a bad day, no reflection on the doctor whom I have never met. This guy saved my life. Thank you!

My partner and I have been going to this practice for almost 16 years. I am a patient of Dr. Prelutsky's and he doggedly helped me figure out a very complicated set of problems and didn't stop testing and referring until we had answers. I feel that I can be totally candid with him and always appreciated that he is never rushed with me. There are a lot of comments regarding the desk staff, and while that has been spotty over the years it has gotten much better.

FYI, this is unofficially the GLBT (and HIV+) healthcare center of St. Louis. However, they don't return my phone calls, my appointments seem to either mysteriously disappear or fail to reschedule, and interactions with staff seem to become unpleasant extremely easily.

Dr Summers is my general practitioner and I love him, he is very thorough yet kind and friendly and never treats me without compassion.

Amazing! Dr. Summers is not only thorough and informative, but the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. The entire staff is first rate. I can't say enough about the service and quality of care at Southampton.

This is by far the best healthcare facility I have ever visited. I am never treated like just another patient and am always given the full attention of anyone I interact with. The admin staff is cordial, efficient, and selfless. Tim McDowell is a pleasure to see as he actually invests in my health and does it without judgement. All parts of the building are always in top form. I definitely recommend if you are looking for quality healthcare from a group that actually cares about your personal health. I would be very cautious about visiting this physician. I found him rushed and overbearing. Sometimes I would leave the office confused. My questions were not really addressed but a lot of test were ordered. I never felt in the loop. HIs bedside manner was what I could best describe as cool and impersonal. Overall, I just was very disappointed due to his lack of communication, knowledge and with the feeling I was railroaded out the revolving door. Of course, after my co-pay was collected!

Doctors/medical staff are proficient, but reception desk/appointment staff are lousy. I have 10+ years of experience with Dr. Prelutsky, he is a very good physician. The support staff are another story. I have been calling the office each morning of the last three business days, but I have not received a call back yet. I guess I will head to the urgent care...

I have never before had such a thorough exam in my 58 years. He amazed me actually. Immediately trusted him with my care.

I feel Dr. Prelutsky is a wonderful physician but it seems like my blood pressure rises every time I have to deal with the office staff. My partner and I have both left messages about appointments in the morning and never received calls by the end of the day. When we have called regarding side effects to medicines we have gotten no response from the Doctor because he never seems to receive messages. Since he is a fine doctor he should just bite the bullet and hire well trained office staff.

I have been going to South Hampton Healthcare for years. Yes they are very busy but they are very thourough and excellent care givers. The staff are very helpful and competent. I Love Dr Prelutsky.

I have Been Going To This Office Since 1994. Dr. Prelutsky is in my opinion The Best Doctor That I Have Had Over The Long Haul. He tells you what is best for you and helps you work out how you will carry out his recommendations. You couldn't go wrong with checking out South Hampton Health Care for all your medical care.

It is a busy office, and they make you feel how busy they are. The desk staff is the worst - no return on calls, hurried behavior. Managers don't pay attention to the human side of the office. Technicians are competent, but they share too much personal detail, as at a salon (I'm so tired!). Finally, while Dr. Prelutsky is very good, he does sometimes speed through things and often seems to ignore issues mentioned. The other doctor has been heard shouting profanity at staff.

Dr. Prelutsky is pretty nice. I hate going to the doctors office but he makes it comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone who asks. Keep up the good work!

I just moved to St Louis and Dr. Prelutsky was recommended to me by another doctor. After an initial poor response to my arrival in the office (I was ignored for the 1st 5 minutes), my visit turned into a success. The staff warmed up quickly and the doctor spent sufficient time asking me about my medical past. No rushing, or judgment. I felt like I was his only patient that day. I am glad he was recommended and recommend him. I just moved to St Louis and Dr. Prelutsky was recommended to me by another doctor.
