Not a very thorough doctor. Plays down illness, especially if you are a woman. Do not recommend under any circumstances!

I brought lunch to his staff on a very rainy day. Very treacherous driving getting there. He was in Foley at the time, he read me the riot act for no reason at all… there was one patient in the waiting room,. I was told all his patients canceled their appointments due to the rain so I guess he was angry and took it out on me. His staff called me later and apologized profusely for his behavior. He moved to Pensacola and now I guess he’s in Destin. Good luck to you people that think he’s a great doctor. What goes around comes around.

I had a referral from my Dr, in 2 days I was called and an appointment was set up for a few days later. I found the office staff and nurses to be professional and kind. Dr. Phillips was absolutely a wonderful doctor. He addressed all of my concerns. does any one know the trick to get Dr.Phillips or his staff to call in a prescription. CVS has called 2 days in a row and i been trying trying to get them to respond this is a prescription i have been taking for a while and need i have lung cancer and copd cant breathe with out this inhaler will probably wind up at the hospital. no issues with me taking this med, they will not ans the phone, have been reading his reviews, this seems to be a common practice with them. i am going to call the insurance, monday to see if there is a problem. they have been lax on other things with me . does any one know the trick to get Dr.Phillips or his staff to call in a prescription. I would not recommend him to anyone. At the end of January my father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Quack Phillips was his oncologist. During my fathers first appt I asked him a time frame. His reply was “at LEAST 2 years”. I questioned him because the PET scan stated my fathers cancer was in his lymph nodes, T-4 vertebrae, adrenal glands, and was pretty much metastasized everywhere. At this point my father had already lost 20 ish lbs. ( which is a lot when only weighing 145 healthy). I asked again “2 years? Really? Are you sure? Cause I’m no doctor but by reading the PET scan I’d be surprised if he made it two months” his reply again “ yes at least two years, with all the new meds and technology he could live 5 more.” To make a long story short he passed about 3 weeks after that appt. He wanted to put my father through chemo and radiation knowing it would not have helped (or is he just stupid and really thought it would). Emerald coast hospice was helping with my father as well. I asked the nurse to read the PET scan and asked her what she would do if it were her family member. Without hesitation she stated she would not chose treatment because of how bad he already was and how fast the cancer was progressing. I’m infuriated that he lied to my father and gave him false hope. My dad actually believed he was going to live at least two more years. It breaks my heart more than anything that he lied to HIM. If you want an HONEST caring doctor please do not go to this quack. I can’t say enough good about emerald coast hospice. I would recommend them to anyone needing hospice treatment but this isn’t the page for that. If you do chose him I pray your experience was better than ours. Not only did I lose my dad, my best friend, but I’m also still very angry at the treatment he received, or lack there of I should say. Good Luck to anyone reading this and please stay clear of this practice. Not only for good care but for the mental health of you and your loved one. The office does not answer your calls during business hours it goes to a voicemail. It says your call will be returned within 48 hours, it is NOT! I’ve requested my test results which they would have received over 2 1/2 weeks ago and I am still waiting. I can completely understand how a much higher google rating when I started at this practice has dropped to a 3 star rating. I will NOT be returning! Very very disappointing!!! I had covid in February and went to the ER Dr Phillips was my Dr his quick actions saved my life. I had a pulmonary embolism and was put on a ventilator. Dr Phillips called my husband (who was also positive for covid) and let him know my only hope was to be put on an ecmo machine he had it set up for me to lifeflight to Pensacola Baptist where they had one open. All he needed was my husband's ok. He is my pulmonologist for my covid after care. His actions saved my life if not for him I would not be here. I will always be grateful to him. Had a very positive experience. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. Dr Phillips was patient, understanding and professional.

I had a referral to this clinic for over a year and still have not been able to get an appointment. I have called and left multiple messages all to no avail. Can't say whether the Doctor is good or not, but I can truthfully say that his office staff is either totally incompetent or just don't want to serve me personally as they NEVER answer the phone or returned any of my messages. 1 star. While I don't have anything negative to say about Dr. Philips' care, there seems to be is a very broken communication system in his office. I waited a week for a response... and when they did call, they didn't address my questions nor did the office staff provide correct information. They apparently didn't listen to my many detailed voicemails and didn't read my fax...if they did and if Dr. Phillips made an effort to contact me, I wouldn't have engaged another provider. I'm not happy about having to drive an hour longer to somebody else, but feel I need to do so to get appropriate care.

One star only because he is a good doctor. His office staff is absolutely the worse I have ever dealt with. No one answers phone calls so you leave a voice mail, that no one ever returns. They never follow up on anything!! They all need to be replaced!!!

The bedside manor of a brick. Not willing to help in any way, he just wanted to collect my Medicare insurance money. I'm a disabled veteran, I was exposed to toxic gas during the 2003 Iraq invasion. He basically told me the chest pain I was feeling was in my head. Which is strange seeing as I was a very fit soldier prior to 2003, I could run a 6 minute mile, once I returned home I couldn't even run a mile and I had constant chest pain. I found Dr. Phillips to be a very caring Dr. who loves to teach. He showed me my PET scan & explained every little detail on it. He explained what my biopsy would be like a & how it would be preformed. Took his time to answer all my questions, what more could I ask for? Love his office staff, very friendly & efficient. I don't want to give even one star!!! This was a horrible experience. He looked at me and did not listen but decided I had a non existent heart problem and said I never had asthma even though I have had been diagnosed with it since childhood. Oh and all I needed to do to lose weight was eat off a salad plate before 6 PM. Uh...maybe you should find out patient history before you jump to conclusions. Dr. Phillips is great!!! Office staff not so good. Seems they wait to fax orders. After many phone calls concerning my at home sleep study order—I was given 3 different excuses as to why it hadn’t been received. Once the supplier was involved...it was finally sent. Now it’s been a week since the order for a CPAP was written...and the supplier still has not received the order. If his office staff only provided the same attention to orders, as he provides to his patients.

I believe I have a Dr appointment with Dr David Phillips soon. I cannot get a hold of them. I left a message & no return call back. Same thing happened last July. With no results.

His approach to insomnia was really Bizzarre! Wanted me to stay up till two in the morning and get up at six in the morning so I’d be sleepy. Wow.

Did not seem to be too knowledgeable about sleep apnea and medications or sleep studies. Claimed he was going to get my sleep studies from former doctor but he never dead. Not sure he is board certified as website doesn’t mention it.

Best pulmonologist!

Great doctor....

He is a very nice and caring Doctor. He spent a lot of time with me and spoke about all my concerns. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Phillips is a very kind and caring man and a very thorough doctor. As others said, he answered all of our questions and did not rush us. His entire staff is very pleasant. Overall our visit was great. I highly recommend Dr. Phillips.

I also have seen Dr. Phillips. Excellant M.D. Makes you feel very comfortable and like you have known him forever. Plus great diagnostician!!

Dr.Phillips is very thorough & detailed. He made me feel very comfortable. He answered all of my questions & did not rush me. I’m so glad I was referred to him & I would recommend him to anyone in need of a Pulmonologist.

Excellent physican. Really listened to my complex problem. Told me if I had any problems to go to ER and have him notified. Scheduled tests in a timely manner. Very easy going and a genuinely nice man.

Dr Phillips was my Dads doctor when he was in Pensacola. He was a very kind a compassionate doctor. He took time with Dad and the family to go over his care and to talk about the family. I would highly recommend Dr. Phillips to any one looking for a lung doctor.

extremely knowledgeable and caring, down to earth, just loved him!!!

I have only been seeing Dr. Phillips for a few months but he has been incredible and figured out solutions to issues I've had for years that no other doctor could solve. I highly recommend him!

I had been battling a chronic cough for over 4 years with no relief or diagnosis from other physicians. GP recommended Dr. Phillips, and within 1 month, had a diagnosis and treatment. My cough is pretty much gone.
