Dr. David R Osterhus

Returned here after several years because I thought a lot of this doctor. Astonishing difference today. My appointment with Dr. Osterhus, involved a lot of eye-flutter/shoulder-shrugging dismissal. It was annoying at best. Sorry I wasted my gas and time.

Meadowview Ear Nose & Throat has been excellent thus far. Dr. Osterhus helped me out with an urgent need over the weekend and I was impressed that he got back with me so soon. He took care of me. I'm very pleased. Melissa followed up promptly too in returning my call. They are great!

Returned here because I was treated so well three years ago. I had made a point of saying so, at the time. Astonishing difference today. My appointment with Dr. Osterhus, involved a lot of eye-flutter/shoulder-shrugging dismissal. Mid point in this appointment, while left alone for a bit, I got up and left the exam room with the intention of leaving the building. I reconsidered and only stayed reluctantly. It was a mistake. Overall, an unpleasant experience. Sorry I wasted the gas and time.

I had a special situation and needed an appointment right away...They had us come right away... friendly and professional service!

Was very happy with treatment from Dr Osterhus and his nurse. Very appreciative of being able to get in to see him for urgent treatment. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Osterhus did a complete thyroidectomy a little less than 2 months ago. Everyone from the office staff to his nurse, Melissa, were wonderful. I am very thankful for the success in the removal of the thyroid cancer I had. I would highly recommend him for any ENT needs.

I brought up concerns and he laughed, and the concerns were not at all unreasonable. Instead, I did a test which was inconclusive and told me I had probable x, and he did no further testing whatsoever to rule anything else out. On top of that there's a long, long wait until the next visit with all the wonderful things on my mind. I look forward when I'm out of his care. It was atrocious.

Dr Osterhus and his staff provide excellent care. Dr Osterhus is very compassionate and knowledgeable. We are very fortunate to have him as an ENT Doctor in our community.

This place is so awesome, Staff here is so pleasent they make you feel very comfortable and Dr Osterhus is great, he is very straight forward and honest and I like that in a doctor! ????

Had a CT scan and got the results before I left the building. Much better than the ENT I used to go to in Johnson City. Explained everything and answered all my questions.

Minimal wait time, professional staff from the receptionist to Dr. Osterhus.

He was very nice and kind to me. He did a procedure that hopefully will help my nasal problem. I have no complaints.

Dr.Osterhus and staff are great! After 2 failed surgeries from another surgen Dr. Osterhus was able to repair my eardrum and everything is going very well.

I have been a patient of Dr. Osterhus for over a decade and dealt with him many times. He has always went above and beyond to help me. He takes the time to explain everything to me in detail and does not make me feel rushed. He answers my and my family's questions regarding my care. I truly feel like he actually listens to me and my concerns. All my life I have had chronic ENT problems and I've seen many ENT specialists. My son (who is 7) sees Dr. Osterhus and he is amazing!! He has performed surgery on him as well as seen him in the office for over a year now and I couldn’t ask for a better doctor. Highly recommend

Went in for first time and staff was all courteous and I did not at all feel rushed by them or by Dr Osterhus. The office was clean and well kept. I saw a Couple negative reviews but I saw nothing to substantiate those claims with my experience. I will be back for my follow up appointment and would recommend if asked based on my first visit. Woke up one morning with sudden and complete hearing loss in my left ear. They got me in to see Dr. Osterhus the same day. Was treated and made a full recovery after a few days. If you have sudden hearing loss DO NOT WAIT, call immediately. The longer you wait the greater the chance it may become permanent.

While one never wants to have a surgical procedure performed, I was pleased with the care I received at MeadowviewENT from Dr Osterhus and staff. The whole staff was super nice to me. Dr. David R. Osterhus is a very good and caring doctor. I would highly recommend Meadow view Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist and Hearing Center to everyone.

The staff is excellent from beginning to the end very courteous even with a mask on they make you feel welcome and my son had lots of issues with his ears and Dr. Osterhaus made sure he healed completely the staff was very attentive to our needs as well as my other children I recommend them for any needs related

Dr. Osterhus is very professional, and knows what he's doing. I had a deviated septum corrected, and it went really well. When my sutures and splints were removed I was very nervous, but Dr. Osterhus let me know exactly what to expect and once the sutures were loosened, he removed them so quickly and efficiently that I barely felt it. The splints felt like nothing, and I had only taken Tylenol any hour beforehand. I definitely would recommend. Dr. Osterhus is very professional, and knows what he's doing. I had a bad issue with vertigo. WONDERFUL nurse staff and Mindy tested and determined BVVP. She gave me therapy, the collar and information! Dr Osterhaus was very patient in answering our questions and provided more information for recovery. GREAT staff!!

He is an amazing Doctor. My husband and I would recommend him to everyone. He is kind, truthful, direct, explains things well, takes time with his patients, super smart and he cares for others.

He really helped me. He’s so very smart and a great surgeon. I was so pleased after my surgery, and he has been so thorough. Staff and nurses are great too.

I have had ear problems my entire life. I have had tubes in my ears for 40 years. They have to be replaced periodically and I drive from Johnson City to Kingsport at least 1 time a year for Dr Osterhaus to check my ears out. He keeps my hearing near perfect despite the years of ruptured ear drums. It’s been my experience that some tubes are better than others, the tube he put in this, August, hasn’t bothered me at all, well after the initial couple of days of healing. I don’t even notice it’s there. My vertigo is gone, I can hear great, with no pain or popping at all. I highly recommend this team they are all great. I have had ear problems my entire life. Very knowledgeable.

I drove 1 hour each way to see him and he did not even look in my ear my nose or my throat. As I was standing at the checkout I wanted to go back over and say are you not even going to look in my throat. I decided at that point it was not worth it. A waste of my time. I will not recommend for sure

We saw Dr. Osterhus with my toddler. He was very rude and disrespectful. I thought maybe I got him on a bad day but another patient with my pediatrician's office had the same experience a few days later. I would not recommend him for any care and will not be allowing him to offer any care to my children.

He is rude and will not take the time to listen to you. He has no bed-side manners and no tolerance for a child who struggled with a swabbing. Our son had already been tested 3 times and it was neg. all 3 times. We tried to tell him but he didn't listen. When our son struggled and gagged on the swab he told his nurse "just put him on antibiotics." More antibiotics, really. No wonder we have resistant strains of strep. We will never go back to this guy again!

I had severe adhesions and nose bleeds from trauma to my nose. Dr. Osterhus did an excellent job repairing and basically reconstructed the inside of my nose. He improved my life so much and am forever grateful and highly recommend him.

Dr. Osterhus is a wonderful, extremely knowledgeable physician. He removed a cyst that took up half of my thyroid. Since we lived in Knoxville he was very understanding, working with us, letting us get my lab work locally and having the results sent to his office so we didnt have to drive 2 hours just for blood work. After looking at all of the tests, he had surgery scheduled within the month. He did a great job, made sure the cyst was benign and followed up with us after. Highly recommend him.
