Dr. David Joseph Martinez

Horrible arrogant and rude. Going to switch immediately to different primary care physician. Every review you read here is spot on. I felt like I was a dead man walking, went to see a university of Colorado doc and they said “you are fine, here are a couple of things to work on and here’s how.” It’s not just you, this doctor seems to offend and alienate most of his patients.

I'm retired, so I use the VA because I want to, not because I have to. After first meeting Dr. Martinez, I planned to leave the VA and begin using my TRICARE. He was rude and pretty much emulated the negative comments found here. I decided to stick with it and give him a few more chances. I'm a medical professional, so I know when bad medicine is being delivered. His persona was one thing, but his medical opinions were pretty much spot on. Over the past year, I have seen him change his approach, slow down a bit, and include me in decisions pertaining to my healthcare. We haven't agreed on everything, but as long as the decision didn't negatively impact me, he went my direction and took a wait-and-see approach. I feel my health is better now than it was when I first met him. Today, I would be happy to have him manage the care of my family. Now, if I could only get him to exchange fist bumps, all would be perfect. Give him a chance, before moving on. I think you'll be happy.

I was treated with complete abandon as to how I feel he was making diagnoses before ever reading my medical history he pronounced me as I would be dead by mid year. He seems narcissistic and likes to hear himself talk. I will never go back to him. He doesnt need to be in the VA system at all..

Dr. David Martinez has horrible bed side manner, he will not listen, loves to speak over other people, and loves to hear the sound of his own voice. Additionally, he is pretentious and will go off on tangents that do not relate in order to prove he is correct no matter what. I recommend never wasting your time with him, completely horrible!

I was treated like a number. I went there complaining of pain and Dr Martinez didn’t address it at all. I had to raise a fuss to be evaluated if my pain. Seemed rushed to leave.
