Dr. David L Mahoney

I was a dialysis patient under Dr. Mahoney. He went on to become my Nephrologist. I found with Dr. Mahoney it was a numbers game and that he really didn't care about his patients too much. I was given too much medication which led to me having more health issues (e.g. needed a hip replacement). Another doctor confirmed this as well. Also, I found the office staff to be rude and not helpful at all. Lastly, Dr. Mahoney showed no compassion towards his patients, it was all about the money.

Dr. Mahoney is one of the best doctors I've ever gone to. First of all he's so personable; he makes me feel like I'm important and he really wants to treat me. Then he takes some much time explaining everything to you. He's also very concerned and and leaves you with a positive feeling.

I always feel better after a visit, whether it's for a problem or a follow up. Can't recommend him enough. Patient, knowledgeable, friendly and doesn't rush you. Like a family member to me.

He is inhumane and very bad bed side manner. He told my loved one that there is no hope and that my loved one is going to die. He likes to put his patient spirit down . He has no compassion. He spent 2 minutes with patient ' to say that the patient is going to die' and he wrote on the billing that he spent 60 minutes. So not only he has bed side manner but he is dishonest as well.

Is one of the best nephrologists out there! Actually all of the Doctor's at Nephrology Associates of Northern Virginia are great and I am very lucky to have found them to take care of me and educate me to help me live longer.
