Dr.Liebelt did a double hip replacement for me in Racine. He told me I would walk the same day. And I did. Thank you so much. All is good now. I need to get my son to him. He needs a hip replacement at 18 from perthese disease.I will drive to have him do the surgery.

I am an overweight 78 year old female .Dr. Liebelt gave me a new right hip and put the smile back on my face. I experienced a fall and over the course of a year, my hip got progressively more painful. I did three months of physical therapy and had several steroid injections. I was reluctant about surgery due to several co-morbities, chiefly obesity. One orthopedist told me I had to lose 50# before he’d consider surgery.How my does one do that when each movement is painful? Dr. Liebelt eased my fears and I had surgery on Valentine’s Day. Best valentines gift I ever received. I was walking that afternoon and went home the same day. No more of that excruciating groin pain. There has been some pain and discomfort in the recovery , but nothing I hadn’t anticipated . I’m doing my therapy religiously …for me and Dr Liebelt. I couldn’t bear to mess up this new lease on life he’s given me. Thanks seem woefully inadequate, but it’s the best I’ve got. Thank you, Dr Liebelt!!

After my second hip replacement, my recovery time and diminished level of pain were so much faster than my first hip (done by someone else). Dr. Liebelt is an exceptionally well trained, gifted and experienced surgeon. He & his staff performed my bilateral total knee replacement surgery on 10-31-22. Prior to the surgery, I had great difficulty walking, experienced unbearable pain and could not bend my knees to climb stairs. Dr. Liebelt and his staff took excellent care of me, from the pre-op evaluation through my "graduation" (3 month checkup and x-rays). This was not the easiest surgery, because it was definitely long overdue. Although not obvious in his manner in my first appointment, Dr. Liebelt cares a great deal for his patients. His staff are well trained, attentive and quickly built a comforting and trusting relationship with me. Through their teamwork, every aspect of my care was met and exceeded my expectations. Within 2 1/2 to 3 weeks after surgery, and with the help of excellent PT instruction, I was walking without an assistive device. Three months after surgery, I have no pain, and the scarring is minimal.

I had total hip replacement and couldn’t have been more happy with the results. I couldn’t hardly walk before the surgery & few hours after the surgery was done I was walking around with minimal pain as to expected. Less than 6 wks. later pretty much going about my everyday life. He’s a great surgeon and took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions, he even took the time to pop in to see how everything was when I had a follow up visit with the nurse. I was to 2 other Orthopedic surgeons who would not do my surgery because of my weight. Someone told my husband that I should see Dr. Liebelt. Made an appointment for a consult on December 1,2021. He told me right away I need a new hip, and that we should get that done . He made sure the insurance company got me approved for surgery. Looking forward to weekly swims at the gym after waiting 3 months with my hip replacement to heal. I had 3 weeks of physical therapy I am happy to say the therapist really know their job, doing those exercises were a little challenging but could tell the improvement week after week. If I could leave no stars I would. Dr. Liebelt's bedside manner is terrible. Answers honest questions with sarcasm/resentment. Very aggressive body language leaning forward making my wife very uncomfortable. He may be a great surgeon but he is a poor doctor.

Excellent surgeon. Horrid bedside manner. Carries a chip on his shoulder, and paints all of his patients with a broad brush. Bottom-feeder personality plagued by egotism and sarcasm; asks questions of the patient, then rambles on talking over the patient disallowing answers to the very questions he asks. Has to be told to *shut up* and stop interrupting - then, he sheepishly quiets down. Cannot distinguish between a well educated, professional patient and a plebeian: Fails to treat patients as individuals. Judge him as a surgeon, and it's a 4 star rating - he does complex fracture repair others won't touch, and executes well enough. Judge him as a man, and 1 star is generous...

My mother and I were walking into a business when Mom fell and broke her hip. At 91, my mother was concerned that she would never walk again. Dr. Liebelt explained her fracture, answered our questions, and performed her surgery later that day. We went to Dr. Liebelt because my father who has Parkinson's disease fell and broke his femur near hip. He needed a partial hip replacement. As people with Parkinson's know, surgeries and healing take longer than normal. The surgery went very well. healing of the surgical site was perfect no issues at all. We went to see Doctor after 2 weeks and my dad was in a wheelchair. Dr Liebelt was so compassionate to him and told him if he does the exercises he is told to do he would be better than he was before the broken bone. We were skeptical to say the least. He was encouraging and kind and left us with a feeling that he truly cared about my dad. Today we went in for the 6 week follow up and my dad was walking with a walker already and very stable... in fact his physical therapist had him slow dancing which he wasn't able to do for the last 10 years. At my first therapy session, I had full knee extension which my therapist had never seen in all the years of working. I rapdily gained range of motion and completed my therapy after 9 sessions. When I called to make an appointment to see a doctor regarding my hip, I was told that I could have an appointment with Dr. Liebelt. What really surprised me was I asked if I wanted a Sunday appointment. On my first visit, I was surprised again at how young he looked and very handsome. When he entered the examination, he had already looked at my x-ray but still he allowed me to explain what my issue was. He showed me my x-ray and explained to me why a hip replacement was necessary. Dr. Liebelt performed my surgery on 9-11-19 and I was able to go home after a physical therapist assured him that I had passed a series of required movements. He came to see me again to make sure that going home is really what I wanted to do and I was released from he hospital. I found Dr. Liebelt to be extremely knowledgeable about hip replacements. Words cannot explain the awesomeness of my doctor, David. He did a terrific job on my hip over a year ago. I didn't have any pain. I was up and walking the same day. The next day I went home. After 30 days I didn't have to use my cane or a walker. He's more than a doctor. You can talk to him about anything because he is very personable. He stayed by my side and was very informative. I had my right knee replace on March 13, 2020 by Dr. Liebelt! The surgery went well and I’m so very pleased with the whole experience! Not quite 3 months later and I am walking better than I have or many years! I was told he is a perfectionist and he is! He does his very best to do a perfect job! Thank you Doctor!

Dr. Liebelt did a Left Total Knee Replacement on me on 9/11/2017. It went so well that I had a Right Total Knee Replacement Revision( original surgery done by another surgeon seven years earlier) on 2/26/2018. Dr. Liebelt was so caring and supportive. Both my husband and I felt very comfortable with him . He explained everything so clearly and encouraged me to call him if I had any problems after leaving the hospital. It was easy to share his brochure with friends that had knee problems and they were just as comfortable with his care.

Before my hip surgery Dr. Liebelt made sure I understood everything and he was very patient and willing to answer my questions and concerns. He was honest, straight forward, and thorough. He was not very explanatory for the reason i was there for the appt... He was more focused on my weight rather than the real reason i was there which was for my hip. YES I KNOW IM OBESE! I have asked for help and have not received the right direction yet.. the way he talked to me about it was very rude and insensitive. My weight is not something i am proud of as it is and is a depression factor for me and by the time i left my appt... i definitely was feeling 100% worse than i already do on a daily basis! If anything he did motivate me to try and lose weight more and when i do i sure as hell will not be going back to him for my hip problem! If you are overweight i don't recommend seeing him! Dr. Liebelt may be a good surgeon, but, could definitely use improvement on his bedside manner. He was very rough pulling my elderly father out of his hospital bed (dad was so scared).???? Our family thought he was quite arrogant.

Great surgeon, takes time to talk with you and makes sure that you are informed of your options. Will not just do the surgery just because, makes sure that you are ready and in your best interest. I wouldn't change my surgeon in a million years.

Dr. Liebelt is a fantastic surgeon! Due to an unfortunate accident, my son had a shattered femur which required an extensive surgery. Dr. Liebelt took the time to explain the surgery in depth and always thoroughly answered questions at the follow-up appointments.

When no one else would help my family member who was in excruciating pain, Dr. Liebelt stepped up and helped us through the process of a hip replacement. Although the patient does not speak English, he went above and beyond to make her feel safe and comfortable. My Aunt was unable to care for herself for 5 years and could no longer walk without significant pain. In 2 weeks she was able to walk again with no pain. A miracle to us for sure! In her words, "he is THE BEST, an EXCELLENT surgeon". I am a patient of Dr. Liebelt, and are currently 1 year out from hip replacement. I couldn't be happier with my results and would definitely choose him in the future should the need arise. I'm a truck driver and with all the climbing and repetitive motion that requires, I was back at work 8 weeks to the day from my procedure.. I have had no problems and Dr. Liebelt was emphatic that if I experienced any pain or have any questions I was his patient for life and he would always be available. That gives me such peace of mind. Two years ago I had a posterior hip replacement done on my left side, by a Dr. that is now retired. In December Dr. Liebelt performed an anterior hip replacement on my right side. What a difference this is. My recovery is so much easier and faster this time and also less painful. I was able to go home the next day. Dr. Liebelt has a very caring and friendly personality. He made sure that I understood all the pros and cons of this surgery that pertained to me. He also told me to call his office day or night if anything questionable came up during my home recovery. I met with Dr. Liebelt for a second opinion after another orthopaedic surgeon (from another healthcare system) in Milwaukee could not schedule my knee replacement surgery for 8 months! No one decides to have surgery, caused by osteoarthritis suddenly. I had suffered with pain for years so I was very disappointed when the recommended surgeon in my area was so booked up. At my first visit with Dr. Liebelt , he spent 45 mins talking with me about my options. He answered ALL my questions. He was so knowledgeable, kind and honest with me. I left there feeling such relief knowing I had found someone who would help relieve my discomfort. Dr. Liebelt came in-on his day off- and performed bilateral knee replacement surgery on me in Sept 2018 and within 6 weeks I was feeling good enough to return to work! My recovery was so fast, the PT's who treated me after surgery were amazed and kept asking me who my surgeon was?
