Dr. David Jessie Kirby

I have seen Dr. Kirby 3 or 4 times. Each visit was less than 15 min. Last visit was for a very painful injury that happens the same day. I could not find a position that was comfortable. . When he came in, he said I looked great. Seriously? I was near tears. It was so fast I didn’t get all of my questions answered , didn’t feel confident about the diagnosis and his nurse may as well have been a robot. She gave me a baggie of exercises without explanation and left . . The time before that , I had X-rays taken and he didn’t mention them. As he was sprinting out the door, I asked about them. He said ,”Oh, I didn’t know she took any” and went about his way. Will be changing practices ASAP . 1 time can be a fluke. 3-4 times? Inexcusable.

I needed to see an Orthopedic Dr. very quickly as I hurt my hip while hiking. In addition, I am traveling for the next 2 months and will be away from the area. Dr. Kirby examined my hip, gave me options, made suggestions, and communicated very well. He took a lot of time to make sure I understood my options and his recommendations. Office staff is very efficient and pleasant in conducting their duties. When I first called the person scheduling patients was very pleasant and listened to my need to see a dr. for my hurt hip and scheduled travel. She scheduled my visit very promptly to make sure I was evaluated by a Dr.

I had last seen Dr. Kirby years ago and was pleased with his care. I recently brought my husband for evaluation of back pain. I was shocked at his bedside manner. Very arrogant. Chastised us for coming to see him with such petty questions. Looks like his head has swelled over the years.

Always pleasant, caring and helpful. We love Dr Kirby!

I found Dr. Kirby to be very kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and was very patient with me. I'm the kind of person who brings a list:). I would highly recommend him to anyone. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. They worked me in as soon as my test results came back and that meant a lot to me.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Kirby. He has treated me for arthritis in my knee and bursitis in my hip. He is professional and explains everything well. I have received cortisone shots in both my knee and my hip and both were almost painless. He really instills confidence. The office is extremely well run. All the staff are friendly and pleasant and I have never had to wait more than 2 or 3 minutes to get in. They also don't make you wait long once you are in a room.

I would not recommend Dr. Kirby - although I think he is very qualified, his lack of compassion makes me hope that I never need to go back for additional cortisone shots. He told me the procedure would sting a bit, now perhaps I was overly sensitive but I found the shots in the joints of my thumb to be excruciatingly painful - it made me cry (I truly did not want to make a fool of myself blubbering like a baby) and his response was that I needed to be quiet and stop that.

I was in Morehead from out of town. My shoulder was very painful. Dr Kirby saw me immediately , gave me a shot of cortisone using ultrasound, and I was out of there with a new shoulder....I very much appreciate his work and his concern for my relief...

Him and his nurse need to work on thier people skills and bed side manner.

I have been going to Dr. Kirby for several years. He is a pleasant and caring doctor. I would recommend him to friends. I have been very pleased with him.
