Dr. David Joseph Harris JR.

First visit to Dr. Harris. I waited almost a year to make this review to make sure that I was looking at the visit logically and still felt the same way. Dr. Harris came to the small room with 3 attendees. As he did his exam, he used some terminology with which I was not familiar. I asked him to explain; he ignored me and talked to the attendees. He only spoke to me briefly, and spoke mainly with the attendees that he brought with him, using medical speak and ignoring me. I asked again, and he told me he would explain at the end of the session. At end, he left quickly with his people. No one explained or took the time to speak with me or to answer my questions. I felt like the visit was brusque and was not about me as a patient. I do not feel comfortable returning to him. I will instead drive 4 and a half hours to my old ophthalmologist.

My wife has taken my mom for a 4:10 appointment. It is now 6:18 PM and my mother has not been seen. He may be a great doctor but he should respect everyone's time... just like we respect his. They were 20 minutes early for the appointment.

Dr David J. Harris has been my doctor almost six months now he has done both my right and left eye cornea transplant and the results are amazing I just had my left eye done on 3/23 and it is still a healing process but I’m very confident that it will just be as great as the first surgery I’m am still healing form that one as well but I can see great! I’m now able to interact more with my kids and enjoy reading again and I must say it has improved my self esteem I’m no longer embarrassed to go out and actually read the menu I can actually read it now instead of asking a thousands questions I’m young and it was very embarrassing for me to do simple things because I needed help because I couldn’t see or to be at work and have co worker always say you need glasses or your blind as if I didn’t no about my sight already and glasses wouldn’t have done a thing for me. So when I say I’m great full I truly am not only to the doctor but to the person that donated this is life changing for me as well as my family and I don’t mind waiting on the doctor he is a busy man its one of him and hundreds of us each day thank you doctor David J Harris and staff and team Dr David J. Wait is too long, 1 to 3 hours each appointment. After having a corneal transplant, my eye is worse.

We asked on our neighborhood Facebook page, our zip code Nextdoor page, our personal doctors, friends and family, and checked our insurance company’s information on Dr. Harris, plus read his profile and and reviews, and almost unanimously, when dealing with cornea issues, Dr. Harris is everyone’s recommendation. I will say that I have seen or heard people complain about the wait time, and with 3 visits and 1 surgery under our belt of experience with him, all but 3 resulted in lengthy - 2 plus hour delays, but when you take the time to calmly and patiently learn the reasons, it makes you glad he was running late. 2 of the 3 times he was late, it was due to an emergency to save a child’s eye, and the delay with surgery, was completely out of his hands. We were over 5 hours late, but the ER had a horrible trauma - large volume from multiple car accident - come in that morning, and with local hospital closings this year and so many surgeons needing the OR, everyone just had to wait that day. But as a doctor - he’s absolutely amazing! We feel God truly works through this man and this doctor sees over 85 patients some days - nonstop and works in emergencies and stays late and genuinely seems to care about every single patient. Plus again, he seems to have a God give gift, that he’s truly meant to help others, and is blessed with hands to heal his patients. So, yes, he’s hard to get to see, since everyone wants to see him, and you have to wait during your visits - try being patient and understanding, because he’s 100% worth it, and know if you ever need him, he will be there for you - to work you in as an emergency to help. I have been seeing Dr Harris for over 20 years. I had Fuch’s Dystrophy, and have had several transplants. There have been complications (due to my own issues, not his), and he has diagnosed them and turned things around each time. The best testimony I can give is that I CAN SEE!

We were told to b here between ten n 11 am. We were here. It is now 2:12 pm. We r old...74 n 70. We have health problems. We are not well enough to do this! This is latent disregard for our state of health n our time. We cant even leave because our insurance will still b charged! Even the staff is so frustrated they have made numerous apologies to us and others waiting as well. This is just wrong! We r captive e here n cannot leave! All we wanted was to have the pressure in my sisters' eye relieved! To b very fair his staff n director were very fair n caring. They tried their best to smooth our ruffled feathers and accomodate our needs. Makes us wonder if Dr. Harris knows what gems he has working for him. We were told to b here between ten n 11 am. Dr Harris is an exceptional doctor. And I would not go to anyone else. The only complaint I have is about the length of time spent in the waiting room. It has been anywhere between one and three hours I understand that he is popular and busy, but why book three patients for every appointment slot?

I had a cornea transplant a year ago by Dr. Harris. He is the most professional and most courteous gentleman you will ever meet. He is the best. I am certainly glad to be under his care. I highly recommend him. My transplant was flawless, and I am doing really well. He is a very thorough and detailed doctor.

Dr Harris has done corneal transplants on both my eyes and I have had wonderful results. Dr. Harris and his staff are absolutely the best. I have never had any issues at all. So thankful!!!!

I suffer from a severe alkali burn to my left eye I obtained from an injury at work. Dr. Harris and his staff have been very kind and very professional in all aspects of their duties. I personally have never experienced such good attitudes and intelligence at any other medical facility. If anyone ever has a major eye injury, I highly recommend Dr. Harris and his staff.
