David S Gothelf

Dr Gothelf seemed to be a great doctor, very knowledgeable. He was a little quiet but I really liked his view on things. His office staff however were completely the opposite. They are the rudest, most unprofessional staff I have ever experienced. I can’t believe a professional would employ such horrible people to run his office. They weren’t just rude to me either. When I was in the waiting room one day, I heard them patronize an elderly gentleman at their counter. I was shocked they treated him so poorly but tried to mind my own business. Now that I’ve been on the receiving end of their horrible attitudes, I feel bad I didn’t try to help the elderly patient. I could not ever recommend Dr Gothelf to anyone due to his office staff.

The support staff are so rude and cold 1*

the frontline staff who tend the phones are rude and intolerable! I have made a number of attempts to schedule an appointment over the phone, but the 3 attempts I have made have failed due to system failure. When asked about taking new patient appointment, it's almost with hopes that you look somewhere else... with statements as "yes.....but not for another 4 monthsssss". my last attempt to schedule an appointment I mentioned the number of calls I have made, and have had no success with them having system problems. She told me, I quote: "then find another clinic to go too". I arrived at the Doctor’a office. I was met by a slovenly appearing female without a name tag I had to wait for apx 2 minutes. My apt was to 1:45, after the women said it is 1:47 and this will put us behind. Not one person in the waiting room and I had my wait while the staff had personal issues they were discussing. No welcome; no how are you? Just “Where is your paperwork?” What paperwork?. Nothing through the mail and on the website I was not authorized to enter. I would stay away from this place. Horrible experience. We had an appointment booked month in advance but nobody called to inform that we must reach Doctors office 30 min. before the scheduled time for paperwork. I reached office 10 min early with my 6 months old they made me wait for more 10 min and than told me they will have to reschedule because I should have been there 30 min before. The staff was rude. I could have finished my paper work during the 10 min they made me wait. It was a big hassle for me to drive back and forth with an infant. Please do not choose Dr David as your PCP. I go here to see my doctor david gothelf on a few occasions for wellness checks visit’s. He is helpful and make sure I am staying on top of my weight, blood pressure and well being. He doesn’t show any eye ???? contact towards me especially when he see’s his patients including me. His eye’s are directly facing straight at the lab top(computer) he uses. Dr.gothelf is awesome and so is his staff

In my opinion Dr. Gotthelf is a failure as a doctor and derelict in his duty. My partner has been taking a controlled sleeping medicine under his directions for years. However, he only writes her prescriptions for 30 days at a time even though there is no legal restriction against writing the script for up to six months. When we requested our pharmacy send a request for a refill, but asking for a 90-day supply, it took two full days for him to respond, denying the request, and didn't even have the courtesy of calling us to tell us why. As the drug is addictive, the sudden stop of this medication can throw someone into painful withdrawal, and with only three pills left, it is likely that this may happen! I would never go to him even if my life depended upon it as I am not sure he would even care!

His not a family doctor, he only care about to give you medicine that you don’t need , he not going to look your blood work and not going to tell you what you have to be concern about , don’t go to this doctor it’s will cost you a life .stay away if you want to have good life without sickness.

Dr Gothelf is the BEST doctor around! I have been his patient since 1997 and I am 89 years old so I know what I'm speaking of. Both the office staff and the doctor have taken great care of me from the very beginning until current day. My friends tell me that I look 45 years old and I am 89!! I would really recommend Dr Gothelf to anyone who is looking because he really is the BEST!!

Dr. Gothelf takes the time to listen and answer questions. Always gets back to me through Patient Portal. Staff is great.

Well run courteous office. Minimal wait for Doctor. He is kind and thorough and knowledgeable. I have confidence in him - to prove it, have been his patient for more than 20 years. His staff is the best. Best phone and desk manners , never try to rush you

The doctor is great but the staff member needs some training. I would like DR Gothelf to contact me to see if there is some way we can stay with him under some kind of arrangement.

After having Dr. Gothelf as my primary physician for three and a half years I called his office for an emergency appointment for pain medication. He refused 2 see me and I was told go to an emergency room or a quick care facility. His bedside manner is virtually nonexistent and while he may be the greatest doctor in Nevada, he did not instill a sense of confidence and me. Waited 45 minutes for the Doctor to see me, 30 of those were in the examining room where it had a sign indicating how important the patient was. I was frustrated with the wait (this was my very first time seeing this Doctor) that I walked out but not after voicing my ire with the receptionist, who was courteous and said she would ask the Doctor to see me right away. What?! After 45 minutes, she could make the Doctor see me right away!!! This morning, I just received an e-mail reminder for an appointment which I never made, stating I would be charged $50.00 if I failed to cancel. Why would I make an appointment after my experience described above? Dr. Gothelf seldom makes eye contact with a patient. His eyes are focused on his computer even as he speaks to you. Staff is lacking in manners and follow-up; some are actually plain rude.

All my family have been patients at Desert Family Medicine. I love Dr David Gothelf and all the staff at Desert Family Medicine. I've been a patient for over 10 years. I've always experienced excellent patient care from Dr Gothelf and his staff. I can't imagine having to ever change doctors. I highly recommend Dr Gothelf and his staff.

Not a patient's doctor. You wait forever to see him both in office and back in the room. Then he walks in and sits down, buries his head in his computer. He rarely looks up. He hurries through examine and then sends you to see another dr. He can't even write a prescription for medication that is needed. You have to see the specialist. Then because you disagree with his diagnosis he writes you a letter saying he is no longer your doctor. Which is a good thing since he was wrong about my diagnosis. Not a patient's doctor. We have been taking our children to Dr. Golthelf since they were born, he's a great Doctor and I would recommend him to anyone, He get's right to the point and doesn't pull any punches . Once again , A Great Doctor!!!!

I love the Doctor and the staff. Especially Scott and Donna. I never have to wait very long in the waiting room. Doctor is prompt in seeing patients. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dr. David Gothelf has been my doctor for about 10 years. During that time he has saved my life twice due to breast cancer. He has always taken the time to explore what my medical concerns are.
