Updated review -- I can never say enough good things about my Oncologist, his NP (Nurse Practicioner, Sharon and his RN, Melissa) unsure if there is a better Oncologist (and team) for a patient with Cancer, in my case, Lung Cancer. He pays attention to every event, every word and has constructive opinions/information to share. We work together - I am a part of my medical team, well informed and try to "understand" exactly what is going on. I consider myself (and my husband agrees) very fortunate Dr. Gerber welcomes our participation. In today's world, you have to be really involved in your medical care, it's your life, try to understand... get involved! Dr. Gerber is also LC Oncologist to a few of my friends and we are all of the same mind, he's an intelligent, kind and seriously caring Doctor. I am very lucky to have Dr. Gerber (and his incredible team) caring for me as we travel down this road. Dr Gerber is the most caring oncologist around. He is optimistic without giving false hope. He doesn't give up on you, no matter how dire your circumstances may appear. I have recommended several friends to Dr Gerber. They love him as much as I do.

Dr. Gerber was thorough in his assessment of my husband's cancer. He explained all the pluses and minuses with my husband's treatment. When my husband was getting his chemo treatments, Dr. Gerber always stuck his head in and chatted with us. Made us feel special and just not a number for UTSW. One night I had an emergency with my husband and he was the doctor on call. He immediately calmed me and got me headed in the right direction to care for my husband.
