I was given adderall for adhd at a very young age. The medicine caused me not to be able to eat. After a few adjustments i decided not to take it. Dr. Downer kicked me out his office and made me sit on the porch while proceeding to continue to see my little brother and dad. I partly blame my father for allowing such things to occur. At times (on more than one occasion) , I've had to wait an extra 10-25 minutes after my appointment time to meet with Dr. Downie. To me, it's well worth the wait though. Dr. Downie has helped me work through many stagnate points in my life when I'd become complacent and afraid of progressing to the next phase in my life. I couldn't have done any of that on my own. At times (on more than one occasion) , I've had to wait an extra 10-25 minutes after my appointment time to meet with Dr. Downie. To me, it's well worth the wait though. He is a true professional: a great listener, and most insightful. I can't imagine a better psychiatrist.

I have been taking my daughter to see Dr Downie most of her life (since she was 6), I have had to wait just a few minutes for scheduled appointments rarely, if you set an appointment arrive a few minutes early 90% of the time your appointment is right on time so if you have a 9:00 appointment he's ready for you at 9:00 She has seen a couple of other doctors as well but no one that gives her the information she needs, works with her on meds and listens carefully to what she has to say, often asking questions of me regarding how she is doing at home, if it weren't for his help and we would have had to put her in a home to live when she got older, with his help we didn't have a lot of the risky behavior associated with her condition! She is now the proud Mom of a little boy and doing an exceptional job of raising him!
