Highly recommend! I've read some negative reviews and sorry those patients weren't happy but I like Dr. Doward. He's did a series of injections for me, he makes me feel at ease and after being in his procedure room I don't think I would want any other doctor performing such an invasive procedure on me. He continues to communicate with you through the procedure to make you feel at ease as possible.

Dr Doward & attending nurses were very compassionate and professional during all of my injections. Am currently under his care and will continue as needed. :-)

Horrible bedside manner. He was on phone when I walked in procedure room for injections and didn't even acknowledge me. During initial appointments, he rushed through and seemed annoyed when I tried to ask questions.

He treated me for a back injury and he always provide excellent care. He does a wonderful job and his staff is outstanding.

Dr. Doward and his staff have provided me with the highest amount of courtesy and professionalism as I have been getting injections from him for about 10 years. The relief I feel after the injections is REAL, and lasts until I do something I shouldn't be doing. I have been seeing Dr Doward for a few years for back pain management. He has done more for me then any previous Doctor. He is caring and knows how to treat you. Highly recommend him.

I was not happy at all with this doctor. MRI showed a few small bulging discs and arthritis. He was dismissive and gave me no time to ask questions. He told me to lose weight and sent me to therapy again, which is fine. I know my weight doesn't help matters, but I don't think that's all that's going on. Still in pain and looking for another doctor.

Dr. Doward earned my trust and confidence. I related a terrible experience I had years prior that had not seen me allow anyone to stick a needle in my back since. I explained what had happened and what it was that upset me so much. Many epidurals later he still makes it a point to ensure that he is not doing anything to cause me any undue stress. I was in a great deal of pain to even consider having him do the first epidural, so he had to show me some empathy for that bad experience before I agreed to the procedure. Doctors are not mind readers, you have to voice your concerns to them. I've broken bones over my many years and unfortunately doctors have to touch that painful area in order to arrive at a proper diagnosis. Dr. Doward's PA, John, has become a friend and confidant. He makes sure that they are maximizing my Medicare coverage so that I have long term options. I'm going in next week for another epidural to treat the pinched nerve in my neck. I really can't say enough good things about Dr. Doward and the entire staff at JOI, they have all been friendly, professional, and most courteous to me at every visit. I have no idea who the patient that posted before me was but we share the same opinion about our limited visits. In two visits I would guess that this doctor spent a total of 30 minutes with me, mostly looking at the screen or the ceiling and that includes the time he gave me four injections ( I don't think he was looking at the ceiling then though), and oh by the way - He didn't say a word during that process. He had a problem finding the source of my pain, I had to remind him he was looking at an MRI that was done about 8 years ago. He decided to give me injections despite that and was above pain at least - it seemed - by 4 to 6 inches. I finally asked if I should get a newer MRI , that's when he agreed. Oh by the way I'll never go through that again there are too many great Pain physician's at Riverside Pain Management . Not happy with this doctor and will not be coming back. I’ve seen him twice. The first time was for extreme pain in my tailbone region. He was in the room for about 5 minutes and I feel like he didn’t care or figure out what was really wrong. He also touched my tailbone without warning. Which is like whoa. He told me I needed a steroid injection which was my second visit. I walked into the room looking like a deer in headlights because I’ve never had something like this done before. He didn’t say anything to me nor seemed like he was interested. The assistants or techs told me to lay down. The girl just pulls down my pants without warning. They did the procedure and I left the room - the doctor still didn’t say anything to me. He did ask if I was doing okay during the procure and that was it. They didn’t ask if I had questions before or after, which I did have questions before the procedure. I sat in a room for five minutes by myself afterwards. I saw someone go in immediately after me. I felted rushed. It seemed like all they care about is doing as many injections as possible. I left and cried my eyes out because it was such a horrible and impersonal experience. Dr was dismissive of my injury. Blew off the fact that I heard and felt my muscle tear. Said I had some age related degenerative muscle issue based on X-ray- X-rays don’t show muscles. Was in a hurry to get to next patient. Commented on how I wouldn’t need surgery.

Not happy with this doctor and will not be coming back. I’ve seen him twice. I felt uncomfortable. Seemed like he didn’t care or was interested. Didn’t talk to me during my steroid injection procedure. Very impersonal. I cried when I left his office.

I highly recommend Dr. Doward. He is a great doctor! In addition, his PA and nurses are excellent as well. Dr. Doward and his staff LISTEN. After having 2 years of pain, after 3 visits, I am well on my way to a non-surgical recovery.

Dr Doward is the best! He got my husband in quickly and treated his severe pain in his sacrum. Bruce is happy, I'm happy. Thank you.

Dr. Doward has been nothing but an extremely positive experience. He and his assistants are wonderful and always put you at ease. I have recommended him many times and am very impressed with his staff. 5 out of 5 in my books!!
