Dr. David Lester Dickensheets

I am referring a friend to Dr. Dickensheets because of his wonderful care & knowledge and very importantly, the trust that I felt when I was a patient of his a few years ago. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Dickensheets is extremely rude and impatient. He talked down to my family member who had just been through a traumatic surgery. I hope he retires before he has the chance to disrespect other people who are going through very rough times, which is probably the case for most of his patients. What a sorry excuse for a professional.

I agree that he was condescending and irritable. His bedside manner needs serious improvement.

Thought he was just fine while attending to my mother in the hospital. It wasn't until months later I found out he decided to discontinue one of her medications she'd been on for decades, without consulting anyone in the family. That's NOT the way to practice good medicine.

He is a great doctor. He takes his time, listens and explains what’s going on. He creates a healthcare plan that’s effective and follow-ups are regular. I highly recommend Dr. Dickensheets.

Dr Dickensheets has been awesome in treating my 4 different types of bacteria that was thanks to my surgeon. He answers every question and just doesn’t give an off the cuff answer...he genuinely thinks about how to reply

Dr.Dickensheets is very knowledgeable, professional and caring physician. His expertise in this field is highly commendable. My case was very complicated, however, he was able to cure the hip prosthetic infection with his well-thought treatment plan. He visited me daily at the hospital during the surgery recovery period and followed up very closely throughout the treatment. During the appointments, he spends enough time and clarifies all the questions. His team, staff, and nurses are highly knowledgeable, courteous and very friendly. Dr.Dickensheets is very knowledgeable, professional and caring physician. His expertise in this field is highly commendable. He is the best with the best staff, thank you very much, for all you do

Dr. Dickensheets is a top shelf, class act. He is kind and considerate, has compassion for his patients, and above all knows what he's doing. My wife Nancy has had issues in regards to an implanted prosthetic joint which developed an infection. I simply can't say enough about this whole office and staff. If you are reading my review there's a very high chance you need a doctor with this expertise. I say and its my opinion, don't give it another thought. You are at the right place. I really appreciate Dr. Dickensheets taking the time to explain my condition and what treatment I would need to remedy my issue. I found him and his staff very helpful and caring, also very efficient. I would recommend Dr. Dickensheets to my family and friends.

Waited 1 full week for a returned phone call to get a hospital follow-up appt, Finally they told me they would rather Mom see another Infectious Disease doctor. This egotistical jerk needs to get over himself & start CARING for his patients, especially ones like my Mom who needed follow-up care for a deadly infectious disease. That when we call to say my Mom can't afford $360 (after insurance) for your prescribed meds, can you prescribe something else, that someone needs to return our call.

When a patient is not getting better after 7 months of continuous UTI/VRE related infections, you don't NOT recommend follow-up visits and DO need to return our phone calls re: meds and scheduling office visit. That you don't dare minimize the effects of MRSA and talk down to us, when my mother, brother (and nearly myself) almost DIED from hospital-acquired MRSA. MAJOR ego and uncaring attitude.

When my own my surgeon was hesitant to readmit me to the hospital after developing an infection, Dr. Dickensheets saw me that same Friday afternoon. After an exam of the wound, Dr. Dickensheets recommended that I go straight to the hospital. His speedy action and accurate analysis of my condition saved me from weeks of misery. While some on this forum may not think he has much of a bedside manner, he is knowledgeable, precise, direct, and never dodged a question! My kind of doc!! 5 stars!!!

If Dr. Dickensheets were the only ID in all of the US, I'd travel outside of the country to see a different ID. I waited one hour after my appointment time (I got there 30 minutes early like instructed, adding insult to injury), only for him to come in and be rude and short with me. He charged me $355 for the 15 minutes he spent with me, which most of the time was spent with me having to repeat myself because he did not listen to me. I feel robbed and he is a disgrace to the medical community.

He's rude and overbearing and had the bedside manor if a table leg. God forbid you ask a question, he does not like to be challenged. He may be good at what he does, but after the experience we've had with him, we don't plan on finding out. When I asked what kind of infection my mother had his response was, "it's a big long word". Really ??!! That doesn't inspire trust there doc....

His bedside manner is terrible! I hope no one ever treats his mom the way he treated mine who was a cancer patient.
