Dr. David Ray Chandler

Dr Chandler is by far the best surgeon around. His knowledge, experience, compassion went over and beyond my expectations. Let's also not forget all the superb nurses in his office!!!! ????????????

This was my first time seeing Dr. Chandler and I was impressed by how he handled my situation. Dr. Chandler and his staff make you feel at ease.

Staff here and Dr Chandler are excellent. I really felt listened to, which is so important for me! I also feel much more confident in receiving help with my condition, as they go above and beyond in assisting their patients.

After my condition worsened dramatically, I went to see another Dr. Dr. Landry whose staff was courteous, organized and educating. On day 1 they were able to identify the issue and suggest a treatment plan. Dr. Chandler and his staff are hands the best in the area. He has been treating me for a year and always listens to any and every concern I may have. Very through with his exams. Nurse Jackie is the bomb. You won't find any better than them. 100% recommend Dr. Chandler and his staff. Thank you- Sara Constantin ????

I am extremely pleased with Dr. Chandler and Nurse Jackie. Dr. Chandler provided a thorough overview of my neck pain and numbness which was shooting down my right arm. He performed an anterior diseconomy and fusion of my C5-C6 cervical spine which immediately corrected the radiculopathy I was experiencing.

I was unable to stand or walk for more than a few minutes. After surgery I am now able to stand for hours, walk miles. Not totally pain free but huge improvement after years of pain. Dr. Chandler is consumate professional. Jackie is an energizer bunny, and "getter done!"

Dr. Chandler and Jackie are wonderful, comforting and caring. I don't feel dismissed by them and they both are doing everything they can to help me find answers and resolution to my pain. I also am not being pushed too quickly into surgery or medications that may not be the answer...all around great experience.

During my appointments, Dr. Chandler is always very thorough and takes his time to explain what he is examining and recommendations to correct conditions which are present. He completely explains pros and cons to all procedures or courses of action to be taken to correct problems. Dr. Chandler and his staff have been wonderful to me! It is refreshing to deal with a caring and efficient staff when you are struggling with pain. I know that they have my best interest at heart and genuinely want to help me live my best life. Dr. Chandler and his staff have definitely earned my trust as a patient.

Highly recommend! Was able to secure a timely appointment. Staff was great, very kind and efficient. Dr. Chandler took time with us, answered all questions, was kind & engaging, smart and very helpful. He put my husband on a smooth road to recovery!

Dr Chandler came highly recommended and his nurse, Jackie, is obviously the go getter in the office. A personal thanks to her for going the extra mile with the VA. My appt was mid-AM but was in the office for just over 2 hours. I had to wait about an hour and a half and was told by Jackie that this was common. Dr Chandler spent about 45 minutes with me and he answered all my questions. He is interesting and his experience is clear which left me confident that his recommended treatment should be helpful for my neck injury; making the wait acceptable. I don't like to give bad reviews, but this was the worst doctor we have seen in my child's lifetime. Arrogant and rude. We felt rushed from the moment we entered the office. We were never greeted with a smile from anyone. The doctor spent more time talking to his labtop then explaining why my son had backaches. Hard to believe after waiting three months for an appointment. I am sure the bill will be quite high, but I got nothing from this visit. We should have walked out. Would not recommend. Dr. Chandler is very professional yet caring. He is very attentive and takes his time to thoroughly go over results with you. Dr Chandler is definitely top notch in his field. He did an amazing job with my surgery and he is very conservative with post surgery care to make sure healing is optimal. His nurse, Jackie, is on top of her game as well. She quickly and efficiently took care of any issues that arose, answered questions, and took care of paperwork immediately. Dr. Chandler is very kind and caring. He didn't order a bunch of tests that weren't needed. He is a very knowledgeable and nice man. The staff was wonderful!

Dr Chandler and his nurse took excellent care of me. Dr Chandler took the time to ask multiple questions and listened to what I actually had to say. No quick in and out appointments with him. Working on my foot pain and leg weakness. Have seen multiple doctors for this problem and I am finally seeing some results as to the cause.

This Dr. and his staff were phenomenal. They handled every question and concern we had.

Told Dr Chandler I took Delta-8 for my worsing back issues and he says oh that's in the same classification as LSD! How narrow minded can you get?! Did not explain anything to me I did already know as I have also has a medical license for over 5 years! In my honest opinion you don't send someone to physical therapy with a debilitating back injury! Do NOT recommend!!

Dr. Chandler has been my husband's surgeon as well as mine. He is the best! His wry sense of humor may escape some folks but his medical expertise is undeniable. I would not trust any other surgeon to care for me or my husband!

I have gone to Dr. Chandler for years and he has done back/spinal surgery on me. I have tremendous confidence in his ability. He is a man of few words, but listen when he speaks and he will provide you with good, sound information. While sitting with the doctor and soon to discuss my diagnosis his cell phone rings, volume to the max with the song “bad to the bone” HE ANSWERS IT, and begins a lengthy conversation with a friend concerning their social calendar which he puts on speaker. I have never seen a more unprofessional display! I’ll find a doctor that is attentive to the patient who’s paying him and not his cell phone.

I was told Dr. Chandler saw Veterans. When I got an outside consult order Tri-West requested an appointment for me. He or his office refused me as a new Patient. This has never happened to me before. I think something is fishy here with either this Doctor or the Andrews Institute. If you are a Veteran seeking Orthopedic treatment, you may want to try to get a consult with a different Doctor. I just had anL4-L5 fusion, Dr Chandler was wonderful. He is caring and kind . I cant imagine doing this with anyone else. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Chandler performed a laminectomy and discectomy on the left L5 two years ago and, man, what a difference it made. I was in so much pain before the surgery. Great surgeon would be in a wheelchair if not for Dr Chandler

This is the most sorry place I have ever been to. The wait time is ridiculously long and my appointment was at 10:50am and I didn't get called until everyone else was called first and then when I asked what the problem is?? I was told by staff that he's busy and I can reschedule to come back. How ridiculous is that??? I was finally called back almost 2 hours later from my scheduled appointment time. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They don't care or respect or honor their patients.

His bed side manner was very unprofessional, he was rude about another’s one of his peers assessment and I quote his comments “good for Dr. Tyler” I’m Dr. Chandler. I was told by my family practice doctor, a neurosurgeon and the Radiologists that interpreted my scans that I have severe degenerative disc disease and “ my disc is obliterated”. The bone on bone is causing pain, small bulging disc, and the sciatic nerve is being pressed. That is why I’m in so much pain. The problem is these doctor want to give you epidurals in an attempt to mask the pain temporally and I want my back fixed permanently not a temporary fix. Second, I had an extremely terrible experience with epidurals and I’m terrified to have another needle shoved in my back and that’s what all these doctors want to do - maybe to follow protocol for insurance purposes, I’m not sure but there has to be other ways to help someone besides shoving an epidural into ones back. This so called Dr Chandler said, there was nothing wrong with my back other than normal wear and tear. I said, if that’s the case where is the pain coming from? He said “ I don’t know but not your back” I said well, I drove a long way to come see you and spent a lot of money and I didn’t come all this way for “I don’t know”. If YOU think it’s not my back then perhaps since your the doctor you should try and find the problem. He said, “ I’m sending you to physical therapy” I said, why if my backs not the problem? He said, “ to straighten your back and align everything”. I said is pain normal? He shrugged his shoulders - I said, no pain is not normal. The human body experience pain which is an indication something is wrong. He completely ignored me. I told him you are not making much sense he said “ I am not doing surgery which doesn’t have a good success rate” contrary to what Dr. Tyler said which was an 85% success rate “ and I am not giving pain medication”. I said, I never asked you for surgery and I never asked for pain medication I’ve been suffering with nothing more than Tylenol and Advil. I simply asked for help from a doctor. Umfortunately , he is not the doctor I would want help from with an attitude and beside manner like his. I felt like just another number and another dollar in his pocket. He was a rude inconsiderate moranic a**!!! I have been suffering for years before I decided to go try and get some help. I am not a person that likes to go to the doctor - I end up waited until I have waited too long. However, I was in so much pain and the last five years have impaired my lifestyle so much because of my back I knew it was time to go get some help. For the people that had a good experience with him - I am happy he treated you well. I don’t know if you have to be well known, skinny, athletic, wealthy or just luck out on a good day however, I must have come on a very bad day. I'm reading the other reviews that people have left for Dr. Chandler and I wish that I would've had the same experience. Not only were his appointments running over 2 hours behind but I'm finding it difficult to believe the reviews on his professionalism while his nurses continuously interrupted our appointment about another patient he just saw, and he also took a phone call and made a phone call on his personal cell phone while sitting in the chair across from me asking me questions about my back pain. The things he discussed over the phone in front of me with apparently another doctor, I probably should not have heard about the patient they were talking about. His physical examination of my spine was half hearted have most; he never even made eye contact with me while we were talking. I felt as if I was more of an inconvenience than a patient. After 6 weeks of physical therapy that he prescribed for me, I went back and saw him again because physical therapy rendered zero results. After waiting 2 1/2 hours after my scheduled appointment time, he came in for exactly 2 minutes and said he was referring me to another physician and then left the room. Perhaps both of the days that I saw him were rough for him, but that is 2 for 2 that I was treated very poorly as a patient which is why I am rating him one star. I genuinely wish I would've had a better experience with him because my back pain has been going on for 10 months now (thankfully I'm getting treatment) and it all could've ended with him if only he would've taken the time. I heard many good things about Dr. Chandler before I visited him so I had high hopes that he would've been able to help me. How wrong I was. Outstanding spine surgeon. Extremely Competent, very thorough & genuinely cares about the patient. Excellent patient follow up care post op. His staff is second to none. I would highly recommend this physician to anyone suffering from neck & back problems from the spine.

He is beyond reproach! Dr. Chandler did surgery on my spine 4 1/2 years ago! He literally saved my life. His staff are so professional and kind I would never go anywhere else!

Dr. Chandler is the best orthopedist I have encountered. He is an expert diagnostician, explaining the problems in my back. He offers several different regimens for addressing the problems and does not, as many orthopedic surgeons do, immediately recommend the most aggressive of those regimens. He did not push surgery, though ultimately I elected surgery after more conservative paths provided no relief. He treated me as an intelligent human who had choices; there was no condescension. GREAT!

This skilled professional has helped three generations of my family with spine issues. For my father he performed highly precise surgery -- and he was very blessed with full recovery of the use of his legs!!!
