Made me feel comfortable and trust him although I hate anything in my nose.

My husband had sinus surgery by Dr Carlson. Surgery was supposed to be about 40 minutes it ended up being almost 2 hours. Dr Carlson came as soon as he was done and explained in detail why it was longer. The most amazing thing is my husband had NO PAIN! Dr Carlson very amicable easy to talk to

The doctor was very professional and personable, the reception office people not so much. They shouldn't act like they are being bothered by patients, need training on common courtesy.

Amazing surgeon! I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon; he listened, answered questions, and explained everything very well. We felt very comfortable setting the surgery up with him. Everything went as expected. The staff is delightful. Dr. Carlson's Surgical Scheduler (Kim) is one of the best. She explained to us the process of getting surgery scheduled. She gave us all the information, and there were no surprises when checking in for surgery. She called when she said she would call and returned our calls promptly. Made an appointment. Filled out paper work in advance. Showed up 15 minutes early with all my documents and insurance info. Waited my early 15 and 45 minutes more for a total of an hour before I left. A patient's time is valuable too, although of course we are not trying to see the max number of people a day so we can bill more. I have been seeing Dr Carlson for over a year for throat cancer and related illnesses. It's been a hard fight but Dr Carlson was normally there. I saw Dr Carlson on July 13, 2020 and after being scoped for the 10th time this year, Dr Carlson ordered new meds and a follow up in 2 weeks. On July 14, 2020 I had hernia surgery and after went to CVS to pick up my meds and they weren't there. I called the office 3 times and left a message. On July 15, 2020 Still not having my meds I called the office 4 times and left messages. On July 16, 2020 I called the office in the morning and talked to the nurse who said, I needed to call CVS that it was sent there. I tried to explain to her that I just called CVS and there was no medication. I asked her what I should do and she told me, SHE DIDN'T KNOW. After 3 hours of calling to CVS and my primary, I got an alert from CVS that the medication was now there and I could pick them up. On July 17, 2020 I called the office and talked to the office manager and tried to get her to understand my situation and was told that TIME IS THE BEST HEALER and I should just let TIME cure me. On July 18, 2020 I got a letter in the mail saying that cause of my behavior, they were discharging me from their practice. Dr Carlson needs to remember he told me during our visit and a visit that I recorded, that my situation is above his paygrade.. and he might need to send me ELSEWHERE. I am a new resident of Jacksonville, coming from a different town in Florida. I called Dr. Carlson’s office to schedule an appointment because my ears get impacted with wax and it is hard to hear. Regardless, I was told the first available appointment for a new patient was mid-November. That said, I called back because I just couldn’t stand my ear problem anymore and the front desk person said there wasn’t anything they could do so go to the emergency room. I was charged an audiologist fee "out of network", although the Dr. is "in-network", I was promised that they would cancel the bill. I talked to his staff about 5 or 6 times about that. Now 6 months later, I am in collections and Dr.'s office won't call back

Wonderful staff.. I was a new pt when making the appointment they got me right in.. had surgery on the 7th and follow up on the 14th Dr Carlson did a great job taking care of me. Dr. Carlson did my neck surgery to remove a lymph node that was benign. He also did rhinoplasty to help with my allergies. He is very courteous and caring. He is polite and true to the facts. He lets you know if something is going to be a waste of time or not . For example I have tonsil stones now and instead of "picking" them for a year or more he suggested to cut out all the aggravation and time and just get them removed. I agree. Dr. Carlson was great. Very thorough but didn't request unnecessary procedures or medicine. I felt very comfortable talking with him. He answered all of my questions and was great at communicating. He was so good that I'm making my husband switch ENT docs! I highly recommend him.

The best ENT with a great personality & bed side manner his colleague as well is excellent. I felt safe and well educated as a nurse with anew diagnosis of Vertigo! The wait on my first visit was short and I got into see the the Docter quickly! The Docter explained my condition and my options in a very easy to understand way. We scheduled my procedure and incredibly i had it corrected within 1 week. My mother had frozen vocal cords. Drs at Baptist South couldn't solve the puzzle. Went to Brooks Rehab and met Dr. Carlson. Within one (1) day, yes the first visit, figured out the problem. Now my mother, forever grateful with ALL her ENT issues. He speaks Spanish to her, is very attentive, asks specific questions to get to the issues. The word has gotten out that he is the Best of the BEST.

Went to this doctor for the first time for ear issue. Having had throat cancer 8 years ago, he suggested doing a scope. Everything was fine and made my day! He was so friendly, took his time and listened and answered questions. His staff went above and beyond to make you feel special. HIGHLY RECOMMEND A

He was very polite and wrote down my medical history concerning my medical condition. He ordered CT SCAN to evaluate my medical issue.

Dr. Carlson is wonderful. Not only knowledgeable and a great surgeon but also very personable. He has almost completely cured me of sinus problems that I have had all my life. It's freeing not to have a sinus attack every month.

Update 7Aug2018 Unfortunately I have tried contacting the office on multiple occasions only to get the run around. They are all nice and polite however, no one in the office is able to explain the charges to me. I am told they are not responsible and I will need to speak to someone else. Dr. Carson performed trach surgery on my Papa and saved his life and followed his care until release. He is an amazing doctor and surgeon. I just recommended my daughter to see him for her ear nose and throat issues. God bless this doctor and his staff. He has healing hands.

My first visit with Dr. Carlson he was very knowledgeable and professional. He listened, answered all of my questions.

I was a new patient with Dr. Carlson through a referral. I was greeted pleasantly and treated well for my appointment. Dr. Carlson quickly recognized my vertigo and after treating me in the office gave me exercises to do at home and suggestions of what to watch for. Overall, I felt better that it was not a bigger issue! I appreciated how quickly I was able to make an appointment, and how easy it was to do the paperwork needed to become a patient.

Dr. Carlson listens to what you have to say. He explains all the options you have in a way that you understand it the first time. Make going to the ENT a pleasure.

Personable, professional, compassionate- both Dr Carlson and ARNP, Samantha. I never feel rushed and I know that both are truly actively listening to me.

Dr. Carlson has been the most knowledgeable, thorough ENT that I've had since my ENT's at Mayo Clinic in MN in the late 60's and I've seen 2 others in JAX.

He's great and personally takes the time needed to see his patients. Very perceptive and cares about each person he sees. I've been to multiple ENT's and he is the absolute best. I don't know why doctors don't refer their patients to him but I will not see anyone else.

I would highly recommend Dr. Carlson. Loved his office and the staff.
