As a five year patient with Dr. Buchalter, I highly recommend him as an orthopedic surgeon. He is always ready to guide you as you contemplate surgery, answering all your questions, never pushing you beyond your comfort zone. He replaced my right knee expertly and I was walking around soon after surgery.

Don’t let this man touch you. He’s a terrible surgeon with horrific outcomes. His infection rate is through the roof. Not sure where all of these positive reviews are coming from. Pretty much everyone that works with him can recite horror stories about his poor patients.

Dr Buchalter is my favorite orthopedic doctors he’s been taking excellent cate of me for over 24 years. He’s patient understanding and kind. Plus he’s the only one I allow to call me by my entire name. I would highly recommend him and have.

Dr. Buchalter was very easy to talk to. I was not rushed in any way and was able to ask all of my questions. Very aimable, knowledgeable and thorough. Would definitely recommend.

Will definitely recommend Dr. Buchalter’s services 110%, I can only say good things about him. Bedside manner is great, very few that will take time to listen to you and create individualized treatment plan. Because of Covid precautions, no one is allowed to be with you unless necessary, so he allowed for my husband to call in to be part of the conversation. Dr. Buchalter is very professional, kind and understanding,the kind of physician you want to care for you. More power to the practice! Stay well and safe to all staff!

I have been seeing Dr Buchalter the past 6 plus years after developing osteoporosis arthritis in my knees. He was very professional and relayed to me all of my options and different solutions that would help me make my decisions. I made the decision to have my left knee totally replaced based on his input and knowledge. Results were awesome, the procedure he performed was flawless and recovery was great. My right knee is now at the point we’re I have chosen to have it replaced. Dr. Buchalter is the only one I would choose to preform the surgery replacement. By the way, I live in Delaware and have no qualms about traveling 2 1/2 hours to see Dr. Buchalter and his team. If fact, no matter where I lived, I would not hesitate going to Dr. Buchalter as my Doctor. Thank you Dr. Buchalter, be seeing you soon. Joel Lichtenberg

Alas, the outcome of my husband's knee replacement is that his knee cap is on the outside of his knee! It bobbles back and forth with every bend and step and makes a popping noise each time. Dr. Buchalter has declined to repair it or take responsibility.

This will be my second knee replacement and he is so kind and compassionate.

I had a torn meniscus and could walk the same day, and could weed a huge garden 2 days out. Excellent experience with Dr Buckhalter and Ms Jessica Vogelsong.

I had a great experience with Dr. Buchalter on my successful total knee replacement.

Dr. Buchalter approaches patients with "patience" and kindness. He exhibits a calm, caring, competent nature. He performed surgery on a torn labrum (hip) and the patient was essentially pain-free in 2 days. His entire office staff is very personable and helpful. It was actually FUN going to appointments.

On June 7, 2018, I decided that I could not stand the pain in my right shoulder anymore after self medicating myself with over the counter drugs(something we all try to do before seeing a doctor). I walked in using their No Appt needed services, and boy am I glad I did. After x-rays, I was seen by Dr. Buchalter, and he diagnosed my pain and administered a dose of cortisone. Three days later, I was able to sleep with no pain. He was so pleasant and understanding of my pain. Thanks again

What a train wreck .....these people have railroaded us because of untrained office personal. TURNS OUT. THEIR NEW POLICY is when you are with workers comp to give them your CLAIM NUMBER or you won't be seen...that's interesting because it sure didn't happen like that!! Well these are our doctors and my husband was injured on the job. On the way to the hospital I called to tell our doctor at ORTHOMARYLAND that he was hurt." Instead of going to ER, come HERE" they said. Your doctor is not here but We will let you see DR. JAY or an assistant!!! Arriving in chaos we told the desk clerk it was workers comp and we had NO claim number. She should have said OK, fill out this this and this and call us the minute you have that number but Instead she took our BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD and put it on our insurance. WORKERS COMP number came through and suddenly ORTHO OF MD SAYS "WHAT WORKER COMP?".. HUH? ..... and the claim was kicked out. TURNS OUT you can't be seen unless you have that number on the giddyup. WELL WHY DID YOU TELL US TO COME when we could have gone to THE HOSPITAL? So you would think someone could just correct the paperwork? Nope. We have to find another practice unless we want to drop the workers comp claim. Thus far He's been out of work for a month awaiting surgery on his knee. Thanks ORTHO. After 8 years as my surgeons you just toss us to the curb because YOUR INTAKE CLERKS are busy texting and sending selfie pix? I'm sure we will find someone else..who will LISTEN and write the correct paperwork. You see folks.. when you're injured and in pain and life is coming at 90mph you're not thinking about claim numbers and paperwork. You're worried about your bills and your job!! What does a receptionist INTAKE person do? They prep each patients info. That's your job. Not my job. You come to MY work I take care of you. I come to YOUR job you're supposed to do the same. Attentive doctor and respectable physician assistant. I'm dealing with a possible meniscus tear and they have been accommodating to my accelerating deteriation ... hope they stay polite to me! This is my second knee to go... at a young age. I guess my insurance has helped but yes, it takes a while to get it on track and I'm in distress.

Can’t say enough positive things about Dr. Buchalter! He performed ACL replacement on my knee. It was my first time having surgery, and I was very scared. He was kind, calm, and reassuring. The surgery went so well. I’m recovering way ahead of schedule and have minimal scaring. Dr. Buchalter is an ll around amazing Dr and person!

Dr. Buchalter demonstrated exceptional professionalism and skill. He patiently and fully explained the injury to my shoulder, the implications, and all that would be involved in surgery and recovery. I also truly appreciated the entire team at the Bellona Ave office. From the responsive, friendly front desk to the great PT professionals, I felt fully supported throughout the recovery.

He was recommended by my primary doctor, and I am greatly appreciated for her recommending him, he is a very good doctor for me. I am still his patient for future care.

My experience with Dr. Buchalter was great. We discussed the knee replacement procedure he would be performing on my right knee, where it would be done and the estimated time I would be in the hospital. I appreciate the time he spent in assuring me that my experience as a patient would be good. My sister recently had a knee replacement performed by Dr. Buckhaulter. I would recommend him highly to my family and friends.

Extremely behind schedule, rushed assessment, and not very good at listening to the patient which may result in sub-optimal treatment/outcome. One of the most rushed providers I have ever visited.

I would definately recommend Dr Buchalter to everyone . He has been great since my first visit to my surgery . He explained everything in detail to me . He performed a left total reversal shoulder replacement on February 19, 2016 , I am very happy with him . The surgery is a long process and recovery .. Thank you so much Dr Buchalter .

I would recommend Dr. Buchalter based on my first visit to his office and his flexibility and courtesy extended to me even though I was very late for my scheduled appointment. He listened to my symptoms and did not base his findings solely on MRI reports. He went a step further to investigate the cause of my pain.
