Dr. David Barrett corrected my vision that was done improperly by another Opthalmologist in a different city. My husband and I continue to see Dr. David Barrett. He’s the best there is! GR Opthalmology offices are all professional no matter who I see, when Dr Barrett is booked. I highly recommend GR Opthalmology !!!

The cataract surgery that Dr Barrett performed for me was virtually painless. I can’t wait to have my other eye done now. I would highly recommend him. He has such a warm and friendly bedside manner and is willing to listen as long as it takes.

Dr. Barrett is a very pleasant and excellent doctor. I appreciated his work and will have my other eye done next month!!

I recently had to have cataract surgery before a vitrectomy and Dr. Barrett performed the cataract surgery. I met him just before and he was pleasant and to the point about the description of what would happen. He also offered me the option of correcting my vision/astigmatism in that eye or leaving it the way it is. I appreciate being given the choice. The procedure itself was quick, and I was ready to walk out minutes after Dr. Barrett finished. I saw Dr. Barrett for my initial consultation for cataract surgery. I found him to be very pleasant, professional and respectful. He advised me all my options for which types of lenses and the pros and cons of each, along with his patients’ follow up reviews . I plan to have him perform the surgery within the next year.

It was a good experience. David Barrett seemed like he knew what he was talking about & reassured that i was in good hands.

The congenial receptionist treated me well, as did the other staff members I encountered during my visit. I was surprised that I did not need to wait long to be seen for an eye exam and a discussion with Dr. Barrett about my vision problems and options for treatment. The office had sent me material in advance to read, so that I could make an informed decision about treatment. However, I still felt anxious and said so to Dr. Barrett. Given the results of the eye exam, he assured me that I had more time to decide what course to take. I left the office feeling elated that I was not pressured to have surgery immediately and that Dr. Barrett respected my thoughts and decision. I also appreciated that everyone in the office wore a mask, and that safety precautions were observed. He performed cataract surgery on my eyes. One of the best surgery's I've ever experienced. Great people and great care during and after surgery. Would recommend his services 100%!!!

Dr. Barrett performed my cataract surgery last August. He implanted monovision toric lenses to correct my astigmatism. As I struggled with my post surgery vision, it turned out my cornea healed in manner to skew the toric lens. Dr. Barrett has stood by me to make the proper correction needed. Thank you Dr. Barrett!

Had a very good experience with dr. Barrett. He is very informative as to what he is going to do and results and wrists. The office is run like a well oiled machine, yer very personable. Dr Barrett is a very kind doctor willing to spend time with his patients. Reason for 4 stars, not 5 is that I have only had exams but have an appointment for cataract surgery in Feb. That is when I will be able to give a full review. Last year first eye was done 2020 with no problems...sight in first eye to see close was amazing. A year later because of CoVid, second eye was done. It went very well and I now see very well far in that eye. I would definitely recommend Dr. Barrett for Cataract surgery, he and his staff are great! GRO is a highly efficient operation overall, with personable/professional staff, and impressive Doctor/Patient connectivity at both Rockford and East Beltline. Both have waiting areas with industry standard comfort. However, the highly energetic atmosphere at East Beltline imparted a sense of Grand Central Station minus the homeless. I am a former Anesthetist therefore familiar with the process and quality of outcome. I could not be more impressed with the care and Bilateral Cataract Surgery I received from Dr. Barrett MD and his staff. Easy scheduling and was kept informed at all steps along the way. They are good people.

Have had great success with my cataract surgeries, very happy with my choice of lenses. Dr. Barrett was very good at explaining everything and taking care of a few issues I had with my dry eyes! Loved my Lasik surgery 10 years ago and happy once again.

Excellent doctors, but annoyingly aggressive in email and text message appointment reminders and promotional activities.

Not at all pleased with Dr. Barrett. Totally changed what he told me he was going to do for cataract surgery and has caused me a great deal of fear and anxiety since. I have not been back to this office in 3 years. Grand Rapids Opthalmology couldn't even get my contact lens prescription right. I never had a problem with contacts in 40 years of wearing them. I am sorry my retired doctor turned his patients over to this office. Five years of bad experiences. Now I don't know who to trust

Dr Barrett and his team were fantastic! I felt well informed and well cared for in each step of the process for my custom Lasix! It went so quickly. I would do it again in a heartbeat. So grateful to have my vision restored!
