Dr. David Allen Arzouman

David Arzouman (Thoracic Surgeon) performed a double by-pass heart operation on me nearly 21 yrs ago, at the Northwest hospital, Tucson, AZ (Mar /2001) when I was only 52 yrs old. He was then based at UMC (Tucson) and an associate of the renowned *Heart-Transplant* surgeon Jack Greene Copeland. He literally saved my life, as I was experiencing bad angina and the traditional Angioplasty procedure failed to unblock 2 arteries - one of which was the "widow-maker", at the back of the heart! I had foolishly been a very heavy smoker for 30+ yrs. which killed my father from Emphysema at 74 yrs of age! So....If you are a "smoker" - QUIT NOW, because cigarettes are known killers!! I have not smoked in 26 yrs. when I saw what they were doing to my father!! I am so fortunate that I found Dr. David Arzouman!!

Dr. Arzouman dealt with me..and I am not an "easy case"...but he explained everything, didn't get upset with my myriad of questions and downright belligerence (and fear, too) on my part. He knows exactly what needs to be done and is an expert in all aspects of surgery and "doctoring". Am now a 90 year old, happy lady...., thanks to his expertise and gentleness with one stubborn lady...am grateful for doctors like him....love him. Lorraine Peterson Young

He is personable and will explain until you get it. His presence inspires confidence as much as his credentials do. On the 4 personal qualities you can grade below, he is far beyond average in excellence. I had a mitral valve replacement and maze procedure in sept 2006. He asked for a 6 months report on the a-fib. I still had it then, but it is virtually gone, now- it just took a couple of years instead of 6 months. a big hug to him. A huggable surgeon --now that's something special.
