Great doctor

Dr. Allen and his staff are exemplary! My visit was such a pleasant experience! The kindness and exceptionally thorough explanations were so appreciated!

I am not a patient of the urology clinic. I came with my fiance to discuss a vasectomy with the doctor. Upon arrival we were both asked if we had received the covid vaccine by a nurse. Which is unethical. We were also placed in our room where we were told that other patients would soon join us to discuss the vasectomy process. They did not disclose this information prior to this appointment. My fiance had already paid his $80 copay. I felt very uncomfortable to the point of leaving. I asked the front office staff why this information was not disclosed, and they said that it was. I listened to the phone call myself. They did say it was a group meeting but they did not inform us that it would be with other patients. We were under the impression that it would have been a group meeting with multiple nurses and doctors. I am not a patient of the urology clinic. Absolutely the best experience I've ever had at a Drs office. Highly recommend

Almost 35 years ago (May 1985), Dr. Allen saved my son’s (Tom’s) life. Tom was just 4 weeks old and was EXTREMELY DEHYDRATED; consequently, the nurses were having a hard time finding a vein that wouldn’t collapse. Dr. Allen was able to push Tom’s hernia back in so that Tom could get hydrated again. Dr. Allen then was able to do the surgery, which was 100% successful. Dr. Allen may remember that Tom was the little boy who invariably peed on him every time he checked on him. Quite frankly, 2020 has been a horrific year, but as I reflected over my past 60 years, I remember the blessings and the miracles. Dr. Allen and his staff were such a miracle—by the way, before Dr. Allen was able to push Tom’s hernia back in, they were already discussing Life Flighting Tom to a hospital in Atlanta! But because of Dr. Allen and his staff’s expertise, that flight was never needed! My wife, Jody, and I wanted to thank you ad infinitum. A gifted surgeon for over 40 yrs. A super athlete as well playing football in Athens as a wide receiver he joined the leagues of Happy Dicks and Tom Lyons who played for Georgia during the latter 60's..

Dr. Allen treats me like his special project. Loves teaching about procedures or problem I am having and things I can do to help myself. May not get to see him every time, but his assistants are first rate, Been seeing him for maybe fifteen years now, I know he is there when I need him.

Dr. Allen and his PA Jay Rains did a fantastic job. They were timely, pleasant, informative and educational. One of the best doctor office experiences I have had. Highly recommend!!

In my eyes he saved my husband's life. He was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and treated by another Urologist we had multiple failures and problems with. A very dear friend referred us to Dr. Allen and took us the same day he worked on Jerry most of the day in between his patients. My husband had relief at last, and a full night sleep since having surgery 2 months before. Jerry needed emergency surgery that only Dr. Allen could give. I applaud his staff that work endlessly. And Love his SMILE !

I went to him because I was having reoccurring UTIs had to wait over an hour he was “running” late. Also it was said he has experience with transplant patients. He talked more about himself than what I had going on needless to say I went once & never again.

Friendly Staff & Doctors has SEVERAL lithotripsy surgeries here & also stints surgeries, They have their OWN surgical outpatient center on the Bottom floor so no needing to go thru horrible outpatient hassles thru hospitals! Only problem Ive ever Had is with BILLING- The anesthesiologist at surgery center INSIDE a medical office who’s doctor & Surgery center are both in my network. WEEKS later I get these Huge bills from Anesthesiologist who did all 4 of my surgeries whom my Ins DENIED DUE TO HIM BEING OUT OF NETWORK- I REFUSE TO PAY HIM STILL BECAUSE WHY WOULD IN MY WILDEST THOUGHTS THINK TO ASK A ANESTHESIOLOGIST WHOM PUT ME TO SLEEP - INSIDE A DOCTORS OFFICE IN MY NETWORK INSIDE A SURGERY CENTER IN MY NETWORK & DR WHO DID ALL SURGERIES WAS IN MY NETWORK- WHY?? Why would you have a Anesthesiologist working in your surgery center treating patients whom r there due to the very TRUST I have in my Dr to do so many necessary surgeries on me have a Anesthesiologist who would NOT BE COVERED BY INSURANCE even working there MUCH LESS NOT NOTIFY ME AKA THE PATIENT NOT 1 of the 4 surgeries - Hey the Dr putting You to sleep is out of Network & IS NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE & you’ll be sent HUGE MEDICAL BILLS IN THE SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST SENT ME AFTERWARDS! I am not & Will not pay them, Because a Dr working FOR A Dr in my network inside his surgical center in my network? So ASK BEFORE THEY PUT YOU UNDER IF ANY DR THERE IS HIDING THE FACT THEY ARE NOT IN THE NETWORK WORKING IN SURGICAL CENTER THAT IS!! Dr Allen has been providing exceptional care for me and my family for 25+ years. From surgery to kidney stones he has always been attentive and professional. He is an excellent Urologist. Due to the nature of his profession he is dealing with people in pain and/or need of special attention. Therefore, a regular office visit may be delayed. He is worth the wait!

Wonderful physician. Cares about his patients. I travel from Atlanta to be in the care of Dr Allen. My Atlanta urologist said I had no treatment option other than Surgery. I got a second opinion from Dr Allen. He has successfully treated me medicines without the need for surgery.

He's very through and willing to explain things in a way you can understand then offer suggestions for everyday life change to treatments he suggests. Very willing to answer questions! Kind man!

I finally got so upset at one appointment that I NEVER returned. That day I went in for an appointment as a follow up to a stent surgery two weeks prior. I was in pain because the stent had moved and was not in the correct position. I waited for two hours after my X-Ray. I finally asked the nurse if I was going to be seen or did I need to reschedule. 5 minutes later I was called in to a room in which Dr. Allen came in a throw my file on the desk and began to belittle me for being inpatient.

Doctor overbooks, we have been forgotten in an exam room MORE THAN ONCE, and we found out after the fact that he did not refer us to another doctor formerly with his practice for a much less invasive but as effective procedure. Run away!

Staff overbooks appts. At one appt. my husband & I were totally forgotten about in the exam room. When I asked the staff about this, the looks on their faces clearly gave themselves away; they gave the excuse that dr was called away on an emergency. We were told we were welcome to wait &women said it wouldn't be much longer. We had been waiting 2 hrs already.The women said it wouldn't be much longer. I said was if the dr. was called away on an emergency how do you know when he'll be back!

In the beginning we thought he was an excellent doctor after finding that I had cancer. We were grateful for prompt treatment and diagnosis. However, the billing at the two facilities is very confusing and inflated. Dr. Allen uses anesthesia through a specific anesthesiologist that we have since been informed is not necessary. After the last cystoscope I had no symptoms of having the procedure. No bleeding, no discomfort, nothing but had been given anesthesia. We now have another urologist.

Dr, Allen is really interested in the welfare of his patients. I saw Dr. Allen on an urgent basis for what I thought was a urological problem. Dr. Allen diagnosed the problem, treated me in his office and helped me avoid a costly hospitalization. He's the best.
