Never got back re my Lab work. Multiple calls in to office over weeks and weeks. Never responded to my Primary either who recommended I see a Lyme/ infectious disease specialist.

Highly unprofessional! Literally could care less about her patients. Always running extremely late and never has the right files.

Dr. Stokes appears to be thorough in treating her patients and getting them in the office for repetitive consultations. In my experience, however, she seemed to be more interested in providing long-term care (keeping her patients coming back repeatedly for however long, and in whatever condition, including discomfort and pain), than in fighting for her patients to get proper treatment by writing just a simple letter to the insurance company when treatment is denied. Her assistance Marlene does not help her write anything and proudly asserts on the phone "I don't write any letters to the insurance and Dr. Stokes does not have the time to write letters to insurance companies when a treatment is denied." This is not good enough. There are lives at stake, and treatment goes much beyond office consultations and prescriptions or tests. There's the need to advocate for your patients too, and a simple personal cover letter from Dr. Stokes to the insurance would make a big difference. Shame! My husband was a patient many years ago when he had Lyme. Dr Stokes ordered a PICC line for him for 6 months. At that time an MRI showed White lesions on his brain... Nothing ever done by either Dr Stokes or Dr Azhur neurologist at caremount medical Poughkeepsie NY. According to our primary Dr, my husband didn't text positive for Lyme. Dr Stokes then ordered a spinal tap. When that report was ready, I had to keep calling to get the results. Then the receptionist confirmed my husband had Lyme and the paperwork was going in for the PICC line and medication. That took week's, I had to keep calling, then receptionist, the only one she has goes on a 2wk vacation. I speak to Dr Stokes we who actually screams at me" if he can wait until she's back, tell him to go to the emergency room and they will put in the PICC line. Called to confirm the ER would handle it. I was assured by the emergency room director that he would alert that my husband was coming in. When he arrived he said no one knew anything about him coming in. 2 hour's later they're admitting him!! He was never to be admitted, it's a PICC line, IV, but the IV team had gone home. What a disastrous mess. It's was my birthday no less. My husband was checked by another infectious disease Dr only to find out that he did not have Lyme in his spinal fluid and instead we found out that we've been living with Black mold in the condo we purchased here in Wappingers 2 yrs ago. It could have actually been the mold the entire time. Dr Stokes may have been a great Dr in the past but I now Highly recommend Hudson Valley infectious disease CTR Poughkeepsie NY, Dr Michelle is awesome. Very pleased with her. Se took the time to answer all my questions, in a way that I understood.

Dr stokes saved my life... I had a very bad staff infection.. If she didn't insist that the surgeon go back in to clean out the infection l very well could have died..

Her computer would not boot so she “couldn’t” read the labwork my primary doctor sent to her. My Lyme and tick disease results were ambiguous and needed a specialist. Dr Stokes claimed subsequently she never received my labwork so my primary sent it again. Dr Stokes secretary claimed to have received it however. Dr Stokes still never called me. For five weeks I called her office on average twice a week and her secretary told me she had passed on my message. I am contacting NY licensing board.

We really liked Dr. Stokes BUT her office has a problem. Her accounts have been turned over to a collection agency who just notified us that the records show no copays since 2012. Luckily I have my records and can easily show we owe nothing. So - if you use Dr. Stokes keep every receipt, statement and canceled check. The agency she uses is Diamond Collection Agency in Monroe, NY. We recently moved to Illinois so it is lucky we had everything

I would not recommend Dr Stokes. Her intake was very cold and rigid. Came out of our appt and went to checkout and Dr Stokes came over to the receptionist as we were speaking and said to her receptionist "WHERE IS MY NEXT PATIENT I HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE". We went to the lab for blood tests and never got any results from the Dr. After calling for weeks. The blood test was taken onNovember 23rd and finally got a call from herRECEPTIONIST on December 15th with the results.And then she hung up.
