Dr. doesn't support my efforts to be completely educated regarding my condition and discourages me from research, while also not encouraging me to ask questions of him. When I do ask questions, they are not answered in a way that informs and empowers, but they are answered as if to keep the patient dependent upon the physician and as if the prescription is the only thing needed to remain in good health. Does not seem to have a goal of good health and quality of life, but of a number on a piece of paper. If that results in more money for the practice in future diagnoses, so much the better for him and the practice.

Dr. McCammon is the rudest doctor I have ever seen. My experience with him was HORRIBLE! I was referred to him by my primary physician because of rapid weight loss, elevated T3, and positive thyroid antibodies. He was very rude to me and told me that there was nothing wrong with me and that I was probably just losing weight because I wasn’t eating enough or because I had anxiety and needed to be put on anxiety medication/see a therapist. I kept trying to tell him that was not the case because I literally eat like a 12-year-old boy but he would not listen to me and kept saying “ well you probably think that you’re eating enough but really you’re not“. At one point he even asked me if I lived with my parents, which I don't, and I don’t understand how that’s relevant to my condition? He treated me like a fragile little girl and I guarantee if it had been a man sitting there with those same exact symptoms he would’ve not said the things that he said to me. Even if there is nothing wrong with my thyroid, the way he treated me was unacceptable. I left in tears. Also it is ridiculously expensive. I paid $150 when I had my doctors appointment and then received a bill for $350 a couple weeks later. So I paid $500 to have nothing done for me and to be talked to like a child. Very happy to have been referred to Dr McCammon by my PCP. He has a great bed side manner. Very thorough and straightforward which I appreciate. Explained the growth on my thyroid and the biopsy procedure. He also took his time and showed me the ultrasound pics and size of growth. Answered all my questions. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a thoughtful, intelligent, caring, thorough endocrinologist for their thyroid. Very happy to have been referred to Dr McCammon by my PCP. Dan McCammon is one of the kindest professionals I have met in the medical field. He spent nearly an hour during my first visit going over my numbers, explaining all the particulars of my condition and patiently answering any questions I had. He has been extremely supportive since that time and, for the first time in several years, I feel like I have control over my diabetes. I don't understand the negative reviews except to say that people don't always hear what they want to hear from a physician and that often translates into bruised feelings and negative reviews. Dr. McCammon is kind, courteous and experienced and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a capable endocrinologist.

Dr McCammon and staff are Very efficient from Registration, labs, US and office visit. Very pleased with the service.

I will start by expressing that this is not a biased review. I’m not sure why people are giving this doctor 1 star on here and ESPECIALLY without an explanation. It’s ridiculous. Dr McCammon has been nothing short of fantastic. He is extremely kind, patient, and caring. Not once has he done anything with us to deserve a 1 star review. The office handles things very efficiently and is helpful in every regard. My wife and I are very pleased to be seen here and will be returning with any and all future needs. Dr. Mccammon is not a nice person. He made my mother feel bad about herself. He said to her, "you can't sit on the couch and eat all day ", regardless of the fact that's not what she does. It is my opinion that doctors should encourage and motivate their patients, not humiliate and shame them.

After reading so many negative reviews, I was a little apprehensive about my appointment with Dr. McCammon this morning. I found him to be very friendly and polite. He spent quite a lot of time going over my medical records as I am a new patient. He meticulously explained my medical condition. I have to say he is one of the best doctors I have been to in my 70 years.

I felt attacked from the moment he walked into the room. He called me a lair in less than 2 minutes of having met me. He refused to listen to anything I tried to say, talked over me after he asked a question, and repeatedly told me I was lying about my medical condition. He refused to listen to my husband who also tried to correct his misunderstanding, but he talked over him as well. Don't waste your time unless you like being insulted by the person you've gone to for help.

His bedside manner and attitude toward patient research is abrupt and condescending. When I explained (after several phone calls with his nurse) about a negative reaction to medication he had prescribed me, and the fact that I stopped taking it due to this bad reaction, his attitude was extremely negative before he would begin to find a different treatment, like he didn't believe me about the reaction I was having. I am an adult trying my best to manage my illness. I dislike going to see him.

Primary Dr set me up with this office due to labs showing hyperthyroidism. After reading these negative reviews, I was nervous about how my experience would be. These negative reviews couldnt be further from the truth. The Dr explained everything and took his time with me. I am pleased with my experience and patient care.

Dr. McCammon is the best doctor I've ever seen. Very thorough and patient in explaining your diagnosis. Never in a hurry to get out. Very kind doctor. I can't say anything negative about his care!

I went to Dr.McCammon during my lunch break and after two hours I inquired about the delay to the receptionist. She said Dr. McCammon was in surgery for an unknown amount of time. I asked to reschedule for a later date. When I came back for the next appointment he began to berate me and said I did not show up for the appointment and refused to see me. I received a phone call from my primary care doctor and he told her I didn’t show up for appoint. STAY AWAY! He’s a liar and a nut!

You have to prepay part of the visit every time, which I am insulted by. You have to get blood taken and then 1 hour and 45 minutes later you have your appointment with the doctor. This is extremely inconvenient, but now they require you to be in the waiting room 1/2 an hour prior to the appointment. I like Dr. McCammon, but the experience has become too inconvenient for me. I’ll go back to my GP for treatment.

I am established patient with Dr. McCammon and I had an ultrasound on my thyroid which revealed several abnormalities. He refused to see me saying that I didn't need the help of a specialist.

Been a patient I his since 1992,he is a great doctor takes time to answer all your questions and explains everything in detail has great bedside manner.

I see some negative comment on Dr McCammon. I took my husband to him and he was great. Got us in right away. Listened to us. Worked with us on a plan. He was a very difficult patient as far as his diabetes goes and we are very pleased with him.

My visit with Dr. McCammon gets laughed at by other doctors when I retell the conversation. He was a truly, truly terrible person to arrive in the hands of requiring medical assistance. He seemed to have multiple strong opinions that disagree with common medical knowledge. In the end, he missed all of my symptoms and I spent multiple years prior to appropriate diagnosis. Avoid this rude and very poor doctor at all costs. Especially if you have a serious problem.

Worst experience of my life. I came for a recheck for some benign nodules on my thyroid, it had been 4-5 years. I had never seen this MD before. I have been having cont'd loss of hair, dry skin, etc and just trying to eliminate that my thyroid or any other endocrinology-related cause. From the get go, he was horribly rude and patronizing. He barely had been in the room before he began his crusade to tear me down for coming in for a recheck and I was told he was a Christian. Like the twiligh zone

very opinionated. actually became upset with me for researching information about my condition on the internet. I'm 40 year old male, recent testosterone 112, and displaying symptoms of low T, yet he refused to treat me saying I was within the 100-1500 range for a male. I provided evidence from the endocrinology guidelines that contradicted his decision, yet he still refused, and would not accept my transfer form to switch doctors. This has had a huge negative impact on my life and marriage.
