Had an eye exam. Danni ,the technician, was very nice and we had a great conversation. Dr. Mallory explained everything very well as he and I looked at the pictures of my eye. I give the visit as a whole 5 stars out of 5 stars.

My wife is being treated for medical reasons. Today was the time for both our vision care. We have the best and utmost respect for Dr Mallory and his staff. Very helpful and friendly with what we needed. I would surely recommend others to this office. I couldn’t get better care anywhere. Enjoy coming in and seeing everyone.

If I can give 0 stars I would. The doctor Mallory is a horrible doctor and I will never come here again. He put in my insurance wrong and they almost overcharged me if I had not looked into it & honestly I felt he did that on purpose because i basically called him out every time he said something wrong. He was rude, sarcastic, and flat out told me I couldn’t see another option for my contacts because it not what I want it’s what he prescribes me. Mind you I only tried on one brand. My other doctor didn’t have a problem with letting me explore my options, after all his office isn’t the one paying for them. Thank god for all the sweet assistants that helped me out both times. I feel sorry you have to work with some one like that. Really don’t go here, he doesn’t deserve patients.

Professional, helpful, and personable staff. Saw our entire family for annual exams and got us fitted for glasses in a timely manner.

This was the best and most informative eye doctor visit in the 40 years I’ve been wearing glasses. The doctor was phenomenal and alllll of the staff were so friendly! I can’t wait to get my new glasses!!!

I have gone to Dr. Mallory for many years now, and it has always been a pleasurable experience. Both he and his staff are professional and very helpful. I give him 100% credit for maintaining my eyesight in the best possible condition for my age and health.

I’m giving 5 stars because all of the staff was so friendly and helpful and Dr. Dan Mallory really hit a home run with me! I get nervous when I’m getting eye exams done and both the tech and the doctor made it a fun and comfortable experience for me. It’s kinda funny to say about a doctor appointment but I had a good time ????. The only unfun part was the wait was really long but that may be because Dr. Dan spends quality time when with patients. I’ll still definitely be back!

During my visit to Dr mallory, I was given a choice: be dilated, or have pictures of my retina taken with a machine at a personal cost of $39. I opted for the machine. However the pictures turned out to be worthless. Nevertheless I was still charged $39. Plus I had to be dilated. The VA had arranged for my appointment, and Dr Mallory told me he would forward the exam results to them, but he neglected to do so, in spite of several inquiries from them and also from me. The result is that I am having to redo this exam with another provider, with a delay of a couple of months, and my vision continues to degrade.

Exam was excellent, Doctor was the best. Only recommendation; I waited, standing almost 10 minutes while receptionist was on the phone making multiple appointments, callers could have been placed on hold for the 30 seconds it took to have me check in. I was the only person standing and waiting....on arthritic knees, it was a pain...pun intended.

I can't speak more highly of Dr. Mallory and his staff. I had a emergency and they took care of me! They moved mountains to help me and continue to do so.

My visit was great! I was greeted as soon as I entered! I went in right on time. I got to try on the same frames and also chose one that the employees wore for my first bifocals. Their patience and attention to detail was admirable. I could not have done had a better visit. Thank you so much for a grand experience.

I will recommend Dr.Mallory to all my co workers at Ridgecrest hospital. HE TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF ME AND MY SITUATION I GOT THE BEST EYE CARE POSSIBLE. AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CIRTIOUS THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR FOR BEING SO KIND

Between the long waits, high prices even with full coverage and intolerable office staff, oh and a mask policy when the county does not require it. NO THANK YOU. Also Dr. Mallory may have experience but the only thing you’ll leave with is a an uncomfortable disposition.

They take an incredibly long time for eye exams, long waitlist to get in, front desk is nice enough minus their mask wearing policy to enter, which I declined and therefore was declined services. 0/10 would not recommend.

Do not come here for glasses! We came in looking for glasses for my son on 5/27 and were met with a very rude employee. We were very understanding when he stated that he was only there to give glasses to patients, but he could have turned us away if he was not able to provide adequate customer service. First of all, if you have 3+ hours to spend on your office visit, this is the place for you. If you don't care about getting your glasses in timely manner, this place is for you. At the time of my appointment, I was told it would be 2 weeks to get my glasses. Perfect, right? WRONG. It has been well over a month since my original appointment and I still don't have my glasses. The staff were super polite and professional with every customer and patient. They detailed everything in a manner I could understand. Left the place knowing I would trust them again to schedule an appointment with them!

Rude receptionist on the phone, this has been consistent recently. Definitely never coming back here again and my family.

Took a month to get the call that my glasses were ready, which was fine because that was the original estimate for both the lenses and frames. The frames weren't custom/special, they were the same frames they had available on the floor that I tried on. Went in the following week and they realized that only the frames were in and had been sitting in their cabinet for a week instead of being sent out for the lenses. It took another 2.5 weeks for the lenses to be completed. Also, the glasses don't come with a cleaning cloth because "the doctor is against them." Oh, and when you get your glasses, look forward to the employee casually tossing them to you saying "here you go". You don't have to worry about trying them on and making sure they don't need to be adjusted - who has time for that anyway? I had an appt. With Dr. Mallory on Nov. 10th 2021. Dr.Mallory, his assistant & the gentleman who fits the glasses were nice & informative. I drove a 3 hour round trip from Lake Isabella to Ridgecrest for this appt. I was told since I have Medi/Medi that it would take 2-3 months to receive glasses. It's now been over 3 1/2 months & I have NO GLASSES. I made to 2 calls & left messages, the calls were not returned. Today someone actually answered the phone & told me I'd have to call Medi-Cal about my glasses. (6 Xs) I asked to speak to the office manager & She said it was her & Hung Up On Me. No name given. This is the 2nd time that the prescription glasses department has taken very long to get my prescription glasses. The first time took over 3 months. This time, I decided to give them another chance. I ordered my prescription sunglasses back in Dec 2021. Dan always takes the best care of us.

The receptionist is very friendly and greets you as you come in the door. The nurses are very caring and explain what they are going to do before they do it. Dr Mallory thoroughly explains everything he is doing and is very patient when switching between the lenses to see which one is the best. The waiting room area is always clean and the chairs arranged in a friendly manner. The frames collection is quite adequate. Dr Mallory has been my eye Dr. For the last 30 plus years!! He's awesome compassionate and always Thorough.I highly recommended him .his staff is knowledgeable helpful professionals. They are Awesome too!He has a great bunch working for him .

The staff is very nice and efficient. Dr. Mallory is wonderful. He explains everything to you as you prepare for certain tests which puts your mind at ease. His knowledge is amazing. The receptionist is causing this office to lose customers (i.e. money). Ive had a referral sent twice, with the "new" fax number and each time I'm told they didnt receive it. I called today to see if the 3rd fax was received and was left on hold for 10 mins. Now I will have to take my business elsewhere.

Dr. Mallory is very thorough and detailed. He leaves no room for error as he makes sure all necessary tests have been performed and explained IN DETAIL to the cause, risks and treatments available for your particular situation. Only negative is the business end can make errors. Make sure to get receipts for everything. They didn't deduct my glasses from my payment and left me with a large surplus that had to be corrected later. Corrections were done to my complete satisfaction. Dr. Mallory is a fantastic and patient doctor. I've been going to him for 2 years now and I've had no issues whatsoever. His examinations are always very thorough and his conclusions are always spot on. I have and will recommend him to anyone I know that needs a prescription for glasses or has concerns about their eye/eyesight.

Update: I am happy to be able to upgrade my review to 5 stars. Dr. Mallory personally made sure to fix the situation. My last visit reminded me of why I continue to go to this office, as I received excellent customer service and the prior issues have been resolved. ********* Horrible customer service. I have been trying to deal with an issue at the office and have called multiple times over the last month and no one has returned my calls to resolve the problem as I paid for something that was never received. I have back 3 times and when iget my glass,s right i wont be back. The man in the frame dept. is rude he needs a new work exp. After my exam i was given my new rx so l bought 2 pair of glass,s one for distance and one for readding. Went home and tried to make them work everything was bluurry . Iwent up to the eye place took both pairs to the counter was toldyi needed to see the frame guy he looks at my glass’s and promptly tells me they made them backwards, wrong frame to wrong glass he personnaly will fix them not sure how it happened so made apt came back to see dr. Nothing was said about my glass.s exept the dr said he had never seen such a mess on frame and where were they done ? Back to frame guy igo he justsaid going to lunch and left. Me too 4 weeks later my readding glass’s broke the glass just shattered back i go was told they were bargan glass’s it was another 80. Horrible customer service. From the guy in the vision department to Dr. Mallory. I came in to get glasses. Ended up with 2 pair that are defective. I came back within the 90 days. They were always to bust yo help. I had a family emergency that took me out of town for 2 months. I paid $1500 for 2 pair. They kept one pair for me to come back. I never got a call to say your glasses are still here. I came back today to figure it all out. I was berated by Dr. Mallory for not getting the CoVid shot for over 10 minutes, then belittled that it was not up to them to call me and say they still have my glasses. Sooooo my wife went to the optometrist recently (Dr. Mallory’s). To start with, some dude named Kenneth wasn’t too very helpful. At all. And a lady named Gigi rocks. That’s all I’ll say about that. Other things to mention would be that my wife didn’t have a full selection of frames to look at, bcuz half of them were in a basket waiting to be sanitized. Wow, that’s cool ????. The biggest let down was how they dropped the ball on insurance at the visit. I guess their billing person was out of the office, so they couldn’t logon to some system to verify my wife’s insurance. 1st) why wasn’t her chart prepared prior? Waited for over 3 months

Horrible. Extremely slow turn around. Took a month and a half to get glasses. I will definitely be making the trip to Lancaster next time around.

Very rude employers, run behind schedule, then want to hurry and rush you out the door. Went there with my elderly employer and had this happen to him. Needless to say, his wife will be changing doctors.

Today marks day 60 I have been waiting for my glasses. I was originally told 2 weeks. I've called a LOT and get brushed off and told "we'll call you back," no one ever does and I have to call them to get yet another excuse. Today I asked for my money back and was told "they need to talk to the doctor AND the system is down." 60 days is a long time to wait for glasses I paid for 100% out of pocket for. I was patient (sorta) and now just want my money back as I did not receive the items I paid for. Orders 11/8/19 today 1/7/20. Have been going to Dr. Mallory since 2002. Went in to get a new pair of computer glass. The exam was great. Waited for the glasses to come in and was told when they checked the lenses that they were made wrong. When I went in a week later to pick the glasses the lenses were still wrong. Once you have an appointment, Dr. Mallory and staff are great. But I give only 3 stars because I was unable to get an appointment last time I tried-- email, phone messages, and the automatic calendar set-up all tried, all failed to get a response. By the time someone on his staff returned my calls/messages, I'd already set up an appointment with another doctor. This was about a 18 months ago, so maybe they are more responsive now. I normally don't do reviews when my opinion is negative, but keep getting requests (automatic?) to do one. If only their personal communications were as regular!
