Dr. Daniel L Kitchens

He is a horrible doctor who only cares about himself. Don’t expect any kind of follow up care from him after surgery. He also might be to busy when on call to contact you back. He ruined my family’s life.

He listens, has great concern for his patients, and helped me through a long time of chronic back pain. He explains the procedure thouroughly, as well as his nurse. The staff is very kind. I highly recommend this Godly man that has been blessed.

Thank you Dr Kitchens and Staff!!!!!!! I don’t usually do reviews but this case I thought I should since he changed my life!! Dr Kitchens and I had a meeting and after he discovered that the steroid injections stoped working for any pain relief. And physical therapy was not working either. He looked over the MRI Dr. Kitchen suggested that I have a Microdiscectomy. He sat me down, explained the risk, and everything that was involved with the procedure. He was super compassionate and helped me have a better understanding of what was wrong with me.. Now let’s fast forward to the day of surgery, I was really nervous about getting the surgery! Dr kitchens and staff went above and beyond to explain everything and again put my mind at ease! The surgery went perfect! The pain was 100% gone when I woke up and it never came back!! The Incision was pretty small and I didn’t really have any pain there either.. I was actually back at work 2 days later with a few restrictions like Lifting heavy objects, And just being cautious of bending certain ways. Sorry for this long post, but just wanted to share my experience. I think Dr. Kitchens is a rockstar!!! I would and definitely recommend him to my family and friends. In my mind he is the best! Also Michelle is Outstanding as well! You will definitely like Michelle when you meet her. She is the main nurse and maybe helps run the office not sure. Either way I loved her and I thought she made everything run smoothly!! I was surprised by the negative reviews about this doctor and his staff. From Rick at the front desk to the nurses and Dr. Kitchens, they have all been very polite, they have gone above and beyond to be helpful. Twice they have called me to rescheduled my appointment as they knew I had a 2hr drive to get there. I would have had to drive in bad weather and road conditions to get there. How many doctor offices are aware of where you live and care enough to make seeing them easier and safer. Dr. Kitchens is very nice, knowledgeable, and most importantly straightforward when discussing your situation. Thank you Dr. Kitchens and staff from the bottom of my heart for your excellent care and your caring hearts!!

After a head on collision said cervical fusion only option. I was rushed through the process and now suffer. The fusion ruined my life and contributes to the ptsd. He's not only incompetent but corrupt. Buyer beware

I only gave 1 star because I have too. THE creepiest doctor I have encountered in my entire life! He said he didn't know why I was sent to him from work comp because he couldn't help me with my back, yet he lied on his report and said not work related and nothing wrong. Dr kitchens lied on report of what I said and committed malpractice and all his staff knows he did. He also put me back to work full duty mmi knowing it’d paralyze me due to the injuries I sustained at work. Him and the Zurich work comp case worker committed malpractice on recording and they are failing to hold him accountable.

I am a new patient of Dr. Kitchens and am extremely pleased with his kindness and concern for my health. He and his staff are wonderful. So happy to finally find a great neurosurgeon!

Dr. Kitchens performed ACDF surgery C5-C6 and C6-C7 on me in the middle of March and from the moment I woke up from surgery my nerve pain was 100% gone. The consultation appointments and follow up appointments have all been top notch. Thank You!!

Dr. Kitchens is incredible. Period! Not only has he taken great care of my health, but he also has a great bedside manner both in the office and at the hospital. I cannot begin to express how impressed I am with the care that I have received under the care of Dr. Kitchens and his staff. As one who lived with chronic lower back pain for years, I lived with a high level of anxiety, depression, and fear. Dr. Kitchens' experience, expertise, and compassion not only eliminated my pain, but eliminated all of the negative emotions I mentioned above. From the minute I met him in the office until the minute that he took to speak with me prior to my going under anesthesia, I knew I was going to be in the hands of someone who truly cares for his patients. Worst Dr. In my entire life. Dr. Kitchens is a very knowledgable doctor. Both Dr. Kitchens and his staff were excellent to work with.

I am Sue Yeoman's husband Walt and Dr Kitchens corrected a herniated disc in my lower back and now I am pain free without any pain medicine. What a difference. I was picky about doctors. Dr Kitchens has performed over a thousand back operations.

Dr. Kitchens is a very great doctor. He always takes his time with me to answer all of my questions honestly. His staff was also really easy to work with. They always made making appointments, getting questions answered, and anything else I needed.

Dr. Kitchens is a very knowledgable and kind surgeon. He took away my back pain that I have had for the past five years. I am now able to play golf again.

Dr. Kitchen’s is one of the most knowledge doctors I have ever meet. He took time to answer all of my questions and make me comfortable both before and after surgery. His staff was also very knowledgeable and easy to work with.

This is an amazing team of brain and spine staff led by Daniel Kitchens, M.D. Quiet, confident and helpful. Michelle and Stacey are both R.N.'s and Rick is the office manager pulling things together. I feel very fortunate to be their patient.

Dr. Kitchens and his staff have been excellent. Dr. Kitchens sat and explained things and answered all my questions in the kindest manner. The entire process was smooth before, during, and after surgery. My surgery was extremely success and no more pain and tingling in my arm. I would highly recommend Dr. Kitchens.

I am so glad I went to Dr. Kitchens. I had put surgery off 2 other times with 2 other surgeons - the first had a God Complex and the second I developed a health issue. I had been seeing a Chiropractor for my back, who told me I couldn't put surgery off any longer. I asked him who to go to. He did a review for me and told me I needed ro see Dr. Kitchens. This I have not regretted. I previously could not walk more than 10 minutes at a rime. I can now walk through a store or a park without worry.

He fused my spine at 3 levels and left me permanently disabled, far worse than prior to the surgery. He said the operation took longer than expected and the nerves got damaged. Horrible!!! First we sat in the waiting room for four hours. While other people came and went. Then when we finally got into a room to see the doctor we sat in there for another hour. Dr. Kitchens finally came in asked my husband some questions looked at his paper work and said "Workmans comp case huh. Well from looking at your MRI you have Spinal Stenosis. That's hereditary. So there's nothing I can do for you." And that was it he turned around and walked out of the room. He wasn't in the room with us for even five minutes. He didn't even examine my husband!!! After all that. Then to top it off we couldn't even take it to court because no lawyer would take his case because Dr. Kitchens claimed it was hereditary. We have had multiple other doctors tell us that he does not have Spinal Stenosis. He continues to deteriorate in the last 6 years and has been denied disability four times. I just left Dr. Kitchen’s office at Missouri Baptist Hospital. I have never been treated so rudely by staff at a doctor’s office. The person working the window, Rick, is incredibly condescending and snide. Almost every word that came out of the man’s mouth was rude. Lois, who handles insurance, came to the waiting room window and attempted to berate me because of an insurance related issue that really just required her to do her job. Incredible. What a joke. Dr. Kitchens only seems to be interested in your condition if he can cut on you. If not, you are basically dismissed. Well, he is a surgeon. What more should I have expected? After dealing with back pain for years and having 5 different surgeons tell me they cannot help me, I was very apprehensive when my PCP referred me to another surgeon. Much to me and my SO's surprise, Dr. Kitchens was amazing durning my visit. He explained everything wrong with my back to a T and knew of symptoms I was experiencing before I even explained how I had been feeling for so long. The day of surgery I was so nervous thinking there's no way this was going to work. But Dr. Kitchens and the staff at Frontenac surgery and spine assured me that everything was going to be good. Immediately after surgery they had me up and walking and all the pain I had experienced for years was gone. Even the pain and tingling down my leg was no longer. I am now 2 weeks after surgery and I feel fantastic. I cannot thank Dr. Kitchens enough, he is amazing and spent a lot of time with me to understand my every concerns. Dr. Kitchens is an intelligent provider who is very caring. Hard to find a neurosurgeon who can communicate. He does not operate unnecessarily. He is careful and thoughtful in his work. The Office Manager, Rick is very nice and other staff helpful.

Dr Kitchens is amazing! His office staff is amazing too! Everyone is extremely nice and comforting and are compassionate for your aches and pains. With an hour of surgery Dr Kitchens took away years of back pain and leg pain. I am 2 weeks after surgery and I feel fantastic! I cannot thank Dr Kitchens enough for removing years of pain and fear. Dr. Kitchens is the most arrogant cold-hearted "doctor" I have ever met. He didn't listen to anything my wife was saying said he didn't need to look at any ct scans or x-rays to diagnose her. The entire experience from front office staff to Dr. Kitchens was nothing but outstanding. Anytime I have had questions or concerns the staff was more than helpful and kind. I would highly recommend them.

As a referring physician I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Kitchens. He treats his patients with the utmost respect and is genuinely concerned about them as a whole person, taking time to address their questions and concerns. Having observed him in the operating room, I can attest that he is a true pioneer in his field, performing ground breaking techniques that shorten patient hospital stays and recovery time. As a generality, when a physician refers a patient, that referral is a direct reflection on him. After seeing multiple specialists and having a multitude of procedures done in an attempt to ease the severe pain I had been existing with, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kitchens. His staff is knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Dr. Kitchens presented my case to me (after having several docs who told me they wouldn't touch me), and I felt comfortable with his plan of treatment. He answered every question I had and I scheduled my surgery appointment before I left his office. After seeing many surgeons, I knew I had found someone skilled and trustworthy. Rude. Inconsiderate. Complete lack of respect. Absolute worst experience. Should not work with public with such a lack of human compassion. Refused to answer questions, or explain diagnosis. Refused any dialogue regarding appointment.
