Dr.Kellum had been my family doctor since i was a child. He is an outstanding, caring, and personable doctor. He is a very busy man so scheduling is a month or so in advance but well worth the wait. I am very blessed to have him as my primary care provider. Thank him again!

When you have a set appointment and show up and are told the doctor is actually not in today???? unprofessional having to try and arrange for another day off of work is very difficult for some people! I adore Dr Kellum and have recommended him to many friends and family over the years. But the staff is in need of improvement for sure!

Horrible experience! I have heard Dr. Kellum is great and was recommended to him. I met with a Nurse Practitioner my first appointment. I really liked her and was looking forward to being a patient. In the appointment she said that my insurance would cover a comprehensive physical. I needed to come in to get blood work done two weeks before, set my appointment for the physical when I got my bloodwork done, and come back in two weeks to get the physical and go over blood work results. I got my bloodwork done and set my appointment for the physical for two weeks later at 6:30am. When I got to the appointment, the lady at the front desk informed me that I was only scheduled to go over my lab results and had to pay a co-pay. I told her I was scheduled for a comprehensive physical and there is no co-pay. She said I should have had the physical when my blood was drawn and the physical was not covered. The nursing assistant took me back to a room and asked the general questions. She asked why I was there today and I told her for a physical and follow-up on my lab results. She informed me that I was supposed to have the physical on the same day I had my lab results and that the physical wouldn't be covered. I told her what the NP had told me about getting the lab work 2 weeks ahead of time. The NP I saw in my first appointment came to the room and said that she did not tell me that, because she knew that's not how it worked. She said I would have to schedule the physical for another day and they would be in at 8:00am. I told her that I already scheduled it two weeks ago and that is why I was there. I asked her, why does the Dr's office have incompetent (meaning unqualified) people working there, (meaning setting appointments). She said not to talk about the staff that way. I said that some of them are incompetent (unqualified) , and she said that we were not the right fit. I agreed, but was not seen by anyone to go over my lab results. As I was leaving I reminded her that some of the employee's are incompetent (unqualified). She said "like you", I said a choice word and left. Now, I know that I should not have said the choice word and I apologize for that, but I was pretty upset about the appointment. I am not happy with the service at Dr. Kellum's office. I had lab results that I wanted a Dr. to go over with me and they neglected to go over those results. She should have sent someone in the room to go over my results. I never received an apology about the wrong appointment being set up and being told the wrong information. I would not recommend this Dr. office. Horrible experience! Been going to Dr. Kellum for.over 10 years now great doctor and great staff

Dr. Kellum Jr. is one of the best doctors I've ever had. He listens and he's caring and he actually takes care of the patient. He also is amazingly smart. He remembers your name and your face when you go to see him, you are not just a chart. I don't even mind the wait because I know that when I get in to see him, he is willing to spend the time taking care of me as well. I was sad when we changed insurance and had to leave the practice because they didn't accept that insurance at the time.

My family has been seeing Dr. Kellum Jr. since he got his license and started working with his dad at the Marbach office. My family that was still growing at the time were his 1st patients to see. And now almost 30 years later we are still being seen by him. He is a great Dr. and a very kind man. I refuse to see anyone else. My mother and father even started seeing him after they saw the level of care he gave us. My kids are grown and they see him also. He is more like family to us now. And when his brother Dr. John Kellum got his license and became an OB/GYN. He delivered my daughter who is now 25 and she has been seeing Dr. Kellum Jr. her whole life. I would highly recommend him and his staff. Yes there can be a wait to get in to see him but it is defanitely worth the wait. He takes the time to actually listen and help anyway he can. You don't find many Dr's like that anymore. And he remembers his patients. You are not just a person seen and sent on your way. So if you want a good family man and Dr you should definitely give him and his staff a chance. If never call back was a person. These people never return phone calls, went inside to make an appt just to be told no u have to call. Obviously I came in bc no one answers the phone.

I wouldn’t know if they are good or not as they cant seem to return calls to schedule an appt. Ive called and left 3 messages for over a week and still no return call.

We can never get a live person to speak with. Messages returned usually in 72 hours, but no guarantees. We are seeking other options for primary care. Very disappointed

I was Doctor Kellum’s patient for several years and was quite happy despite the very long waits, typically over 1 hour. I received a letter from his office saying that I was no longer welcome there and to find another Primary Care Provider. Been coming here for years, 3 out of every 4 visits I end up waiting 1-2 hours past my appointment time, what’s the point of making a appointment, miss $ from work just to wait longer and longer and at times never be able to return to work, because doctors herd as much patients in as they can like cattle and then burn through your visit, doctors in and out of your room in 10 minutes or less. My last straw was re scheduling a appointment for a later date on the phone with the scheduling lady, when my appointment came up I was told I was a no show at my last appointment, I never called to reschedule and that I would have to wait to see a dr that day. I never give a bad review, however this has to be said. No reflex on Dr. Daniel H Kellum Jr. Because I have tried twice to see him and yet to have this done. This is on the staff!! I called to have an appointment for Dr. Kellum and was directed to another Dr. I explained my concerns about constantly seeing Dr. since I have been in Texas and never getting to the bottom of my issues. I was told that this would not happen and that I could not see Dr Kellum as he was book. I said how far out and was told she couldn’t give me a date nor a timeframe. However, I needed to be seen and this Dr Christina did the same as every other Dr here has done. Send me for all these Tests and X-rays and it’s been almost a month and no word at all. Then they called and canceled my appointment. So I went today to find out what was going on and the lady at the front desk was so rude and nasty. By far the worst place to call and get refills on medication. I have called 6 times and left 5 voicemails with no return phone calls from their office. My pharmacy has also called to get refills and here it is 2 weeks later and still no medication. Patients please beware. I would highly recommend finding a different office to use.

Good luck with ANYONE answering your phone call. I have been calling about my appointment and prescription over and over and NO ONE answers the phone. And this happens every single time I call. I had to call the billing department, which is in another part of San Antonio, and she said that it's been an ongoing problem for them as well. She had to text someone from the office that I was trying to call just so that someone could take my call. Sometimes there is a wait associated with your appointment however Dr Kellum’s bedside manor and professionalism is worth the wait.!

I currently see Dr. Gonzalez at this location I drive 45 minutes to see him, his bedside manner is by far the best I have had since moving to San Antonio, he is up front and honest about everything glad I was referred to him.

I got my Covid vaccine from Kellum Family Medicine. The doctor and staff were extremely courteous and concerned for my well being. I highly recommend them for your medical needs.

I received the Johnson & Johnson COVID 1-shot vaccine. Everything was streamlined nicely. I was in and out in 20 minutes, 15 of those were to observe for side effects. No side effects experienced as I've heard some to experience.

I have never seen a doctor more interested in his patients well-being than Kellum. Always sincere and goes out of his way to accommodate to each patient. My daughter loves him and I couldn't be happier with the service that him and his incredible staff provide for me and my family.

Staff was very friendly and well-organized for our office vaccination event. Was in and out and attended to during the 15-minute wait time. As vaccinations continue to become more available, I will definitely recommend friend and family to visit their office if available.

Will try and in and out as fast as they can barley listening to you just to turn out patients.

There is no point in making an appointment here. We always wait at least an hour and a half past scheduled time, Dr. Gonzalez is never prepared, rushes you and therefore does not listen be used he has in a hurry... even though we wait for hours to see him.

Completely horrible, been there for an appointment twice. Had to wait nearly 2 hours to not get seen for a physical. Thanks for nothing Dr. Kellum. Enjoy your damn lunch .

This doctors office is solely trying to get as many patients in and out as possible to make as much money as possible. Dr kellum started off as a great doctor. It was sometimes worth waiting for upwards of 4 hours to see him. But after about a year, it start to become a giant hassle. Dr kellum runs in and out of rooms and barely spends anytime with his patients. On average i think i saw him for maybe 5 minutes each time i was there. My wife ripped his office manager a new one due to her being extremely rude and he decided to dropped us both as patients even though she deserved it. Was just told by Dr. Gonzales that I was not to be using the after hours phone line for a prescription refill, even though hes the one who chose to call me after hours as I've been calling during 8-5 multiple times over 7 days. I put in for my refill on their patient portal and also verbally 10 days ago and the pharmacy and myself have been trying to find out for over a week now why it hasn't been called in. Usually takes 15-20 minutes for both. The wait is absurd! For just a simple appointment we usually are here 2-3 hours and 90% of that is waiting. The nurses are always in a bad mood. Dr. Kellum JR. Has moved mountains to help me with my migraines and help me get they through the pain and the depression they’ve caused me when there were no cures and still aren’t but he keeps trying and will call me personally or spend as much time as needed to hear my concerns or what I’m going through at an office visit. If you’ve had to wait hours to see him even if you had an appointment time it’s because he is making sure that every patient gets treated like they are the only one who needs his help and he doesn’t rush anytime that comes for his help. He’s well worth the wait and even when we lived four hours away we’d drive in on a Saturday to see only him because he’s that good at what he does and he knows your history and treats you like family. He won’t stop looking for answers to what’s ailing you no matter what you suffer from but in the mean t time he does whatever it takes to make you as well and comfortable as he possibly can. If you don’t want to wait the extra time it takes to see him you’re really missing out on the best doctor patient relationship you could have. I'm not a patient, but I feel like I should share my experience. On January 9th, 2019 I got a voicemail from this number for someone else. From the voicemail I got: the patient's name, the name of the person calling for the patient, the doctor the patient is seeing at the practice, the name of another office that is going to be calling to schedule an appointment, and a few miscellaneous other small facts about a treatment that seems to be working. I tried to call the office immediately after receiving the vm and got an automated menu. Tried two different options and got sent to a voicemail inbox twice. A little over a month later, on February 25th, 2019 I got a call from a specialist's office in regard to the patient Dr. Kellum's office was looking for initially. I called the specialist's office back and explained that I'm not the patient they're trying to reach, and I tried to contact Dr. Kellum's office previously to let them know they had the wrong number, but had no luck reaching them (no one answered so I left a vm with my number and an explanation and no one reached out to me about it). The specialist's office explained that Dr. Kellum's office had referred the patient to the wrong specialist anyway, so they were going to call the office back to let them know about everything. I never heard any kind of follow up, but this whole situation is insane, very unfair to the patient, and made me really uncomfortable. I would definitely not suggest going to this practice. I liked my nurse practitioner while I was there for my appointment. She seemed very caring and attentive. However, I got prescribed quite a few medications and one of them gave me a very bad reaction. If my neighbor wasn’t a nurse and hadn’t come over I would have been hauled off in an ambulance. I was drenched in my own sweat, my heart rate was slowed way down, I was blind for at least 10 minutes in between passing out and bouncing my head off the floors and walls. It was awful. It was terrifying. I call this drs office to inquire about the medication and what I need to do and they would not call me back. 5 TIMES I called today and nobody cared, notes were left for the drs and not one person took the time to call me. That is absolutely ridiculous. They are inconsiderate. They do not care about their patients. They are just completely unprofessional. I also called multiple times in the past 2 weeks for my blood test results. Nobody will contact me about those. I have left many messages. This drs office is TERRIBLE. Everybody is rude. My family and I have been coming to this office for 11 years. We have seen a lot of changes, some good and some not so good. For the past couple of years the wait time is becoming worse and worse. They over book the doctors and patients have been known to wait for up to 3 hours. Today I was in for an X-ray and waited an hour and 1/2 to just be seen. I changed doctors a while ago away from Dr Kellum, exclusively because he has taken to hugely overbooking, presumably for income purposes. The last 4 times I went to see him I was never seen less than 2 hours late, and on one occasion I waited 4 hours. Had to wait on referral which should've been ready, Alma the referral coordinator is incompetent. I love Dr K, if he wasn't such a brilliant doctor, I would have to leave, I never get my referrals when I need them nor do they have the correct diagnosis, I should just do my own

So hard to make an appoinment. When they finally answer the phone they tell you the Doc can't see you for 2 weeks. Find a new doctor.

The PA’s are very good. The wait time - even with an appointment can exceed 2 hours easy - horrible if you work for a living.

I went in for a full check up. It took awhile to be seen, even longer getting X-rays, blood drawn..which was to be expected. I went back a couple weeks later for results, someone at the front desk had made an error about my insurance at my first appointment and said that I couldn’t be seen until I got that cleared up. I told her I just needed my results and she said to call my insurance company. After leaving, furious... I had to find another doctor and go through everything again, which took about a month. I have gone for two appointments now and have had to wait for over an hour both times. I waited over two hours my first visit, and I just went today for my second visit. I waited over 45 minutes in the waiting room, and when they finally put me in a room, I ended up leaving after 20 minutes. Absolutely the worst physician scheduling I've ever encountered. Office manager obviously has NO business sense! 3 hours in the lobby so far today. During an earlier visit this year I waited 5 hours then just rescheduled & left! It's time to find another GP in San Antonio!

The wait was 2 and half hours last time and 3 and half hours this time to be seen. The front desk is courteous but seems very busy, maybe rushed or overwhelmed. They were nice however, and offered to have me see the nurse practitioner, Ashley, to shorten my wait. Ashley saw me right away and I loved her. I may just go to her from now on, was told shorter waits. Ashley was extremely thorough, I was impressed with her. Dr. Kellum is very nice, I felt like he was thorough and knowledgeable. The nurses were also very nice. Scheduling here is not difficult. The only issue is very very long wait times for the doctors, u need to take half a day off of work for this. Yes the wait was long but that comes with the territory with a good practice that takes time with it's patients. I read many of the reviews before coming to this medical practice and skeptical at first but after my first visit my perspective was changed. I truly appreciate the staff in being personable, allowing for questions to be asked and not being rushed out, making your health a top priority. Only giving a 3 star because I did wait about 55 minutes to be seen but the world is not perfect and I was satisfied with the service received. I have been going to Doctor Gonzales for many years. They have a walk in option for those of us who have to see them which is great. It's when this happens that I've had to wait. I'm a long-time patient (8+ years) of Dr. Daniel Kellum. I am very pleased with the care Dr Kellum continues to provide me and my family with. He listens to me, seems to genuinely care about how I am really feeling, and always treats me with care. He takes his time during every appointment, and makes sure I have all of my questions answered before the appointment is over. He is also very reliable when it comes to handling any conditions, blood tests, or prescription refills. With that being said, a common complaint I hear from others and read online is "but he has a long wait time for his appointments!". Yes. That's true. Unless you're the first appointment of the day for him, don't expect to be seen EXACTLY on time. The wait time is less than ideal, I admit, but I'll gladly wait patiently to see him than get the sub-par or dismissive treatment from other doctors that I've tried. So why the wait time? He's busy. He takes his time with every patient. He is in very high demand. He is well known. And not to mention, the way our health care system has panned out, many doctors are having to take on as many patients as they possibly can just to stay afloat (not saying that is the case with Dr Kellum, but rather a broad assumption for many family practitioners) Dr Kellum and his staff have provided me fantastic care through many of my medical issues over the years. He cares for and is knowledgeable about a broad spectrum of conditions, and his office is equipped to do most tests in-house, including an x ray technician and phlebotomist. Most incompetent and all around stupid office staff I've ever encountered, and I've worked in the medical field.

Poorly Run Place. Had my appointment canceled with no notice and no backup plan. Will not go here again!

They take way too long to see patients. Every time I go it takes well over an hour to be seen.

Have been waiting an hour and a half just to see a PA for a referral to a specialist. Needless to say, will not be returning to this office again.

SOME of the office staff is great; SOME of the staff is HORRIBLE, just cross your fingers you get a good one. Doctor is good so that helps!!
