You are in good hands with Dr. Furst. He understands the disease process and how to treat it-- and when there are several options, he will research the best one(s) for your case. He's not there to just write prescriptions, like most MDs. He is open-minded and does not believe in a one-size-fits-all care plan. I have seen 5 doctors who specialize in my autoimmune disease, and he is hands-down the best rheumatologist. He takes his time with you, asks all the right questions, thoroughly explains your condition and care plan, which are backed by vast experience and knowledge. When you have a chronic, progressive disease, having Dr. Furst as your practitioner gives you peace of mind and positivity.

I'd highly recommend Dr. Furst to anyone seeking a highly skilled scleroderma / rheumatology specialist. The decades of experience was obvious from the 1st visit, which led to a diagnosis within months. After multiple misdiagnosis (from multiple specialists) and a decade of declining health, Dr Furst correctly diagnosed my case / treatment which has improved my health ever since.

Dr. Furst treats the whole patient. He checks, test, reviews every part of my body, every symptom and even asks about my social and mental health. He is kind and caring and makes me feel like I am the only patient he is seeing today. Because of his reputation as an expert I always win the appeals with my insurance company on the treatments he prescribes. I am alive today because of his wonderful care.

Dr. Furst changed my life & in many ways saved it. On the brink of a physical and mental breakdown walking into his office the first time, I went from hopeless to optimistic in just one appointment. I trust him more than any dr. I have ever met. He's caring, brilliant, unconcerned with time and does whatever it takes without giving up. He's a perfect example of what a great dr. should be. Living with chronic illness is truly terrible, but having him to turn to, makes me feel beyond cared for.

I am a 79 year old woman diagnosed with bilateral temporal arteritis, 2 brain aneurysms, atrial fibrillation, 4 thyroid nodules, osteoporosis and balance impairment. Dr. Furst, my physician since January 2014, is an exceptionally astute professional whom I consider to have saved my life on numerous occasions. He treats me with warmth, friendliness, tenacity, and compassionate care. He is the best physician with whom I have ever entrusted my care and I strongly recommend him.

I have been his patient since 2003 at UCLA and in Seattle. Both offices are immaculate with professional 7 caring staff members He is very busy -- to work with him successfully, it is best to be well-organized when it is your appointment. He is not cold as one reviewer described him --- quite the contrary. He is both a wealth of knowledge medically and very practical in his approach. If one had many complicated medical issues, he will identify, clarify and prioritize treatment. KK
