Dr. Daniel Joseph Callaghan JR.

Unimpressed by Dr. Callaghan. My husband went to see him 2 years ago for congested ears. After an audiology test and a scope down his nose/throat, he told him he needs hearing aids for his (not uncommon at his age) high-tone hearing loss. Fast forward 2 years, our Family Doc had my husband have an MRI only to find the issues that should've been addressed with Dr. Callaghan. So sad New Castle only has this guy. We're heading to Pittsburgh.

Very thorough old school knowledgeable doctor, actually went to him about 20 years ago, and recently, I feel he provided a thorough exam, scope, asked detailed various questions, explanations and prescribed the correct tests and medications. I was also impressed on how they were able to get me in relatively quickly the same week.

Dr Kelly is a top non-stractor and his November 2008 I was in a serious car accident and it left me with a lot of issues Jameson emergency room failed to see a lot of the issues and for the review of Dr Callahan of everything he realized I had a baseline skull fracture orbital blowout fractures I've had issues with swelling around my face and brain and he had me immediately taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital where I went under immense surgery for 17 hours by Dr caru and his colleague Dr Anderson if it wasn't for Dr Callahan if it wasn't for his needing to review every little detail I probably wouldn't be here today so anybody that has comments about him rushing through things sometimes he's rushing through his pace so he can understand what's going on so doctor Callahan I'm going to say this one time you are the best of the best and thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my life so I can be with my children thank you so very much Dr Kelly is a top non-stractor and his November 2008 I was in a serious car accident and it left me with a lot of issues Jameson emergency room failed to see a lot of the issues and for the review of Dr Callahan of everything he realized I … More

Dr Callaghan did my surgery a year ago, i had a deviated septum, very small sinuses and a 100% blockage from a mass. The surgery was by far the best thing i ever did. Only thing i regret is waiting so long! Dr Callaghan was great with me. (I Was a big baby every single time, but he was always patient and caring. He knows what he is doing! And is good at it!! The wait can sometimes be a little while BUT it’s because he makes sure his patients are fully taken care of!

My review isnt towards doctor callaghan at all but the allergy department has been lazy lately with letting people know if they are not able to get their shots for the past 2-3 weeks I can only go on mondays and this lady knows it I knew about the 5th of july not being able to but last monday I went up and wasnt able to and now today I wasnt able to get my shots and I'm not able to on the 26th which they said when I first started getting the shots which has been a little over a year going more then 14 days itll mess up stuff but when I go in and ask what's going on and why havent anyone contacted me for letting me know I couldnt get my shot today that I'll have to just wait till the doctor is in and she was rude about it and I'm like well how am I supost to know if no one calls and let's me know if they are in today or not?? never had issues like this with them before till recently it's not far to me having my time wasted when I have other things I could be getting done and it's very unprofessional and theres no excuse I'll be looking somewhere else to go also I'm going to add that they kept claiming since the 12th they have been posting signs up and I'm like no one informed me and I haven't seen anything posted because I haven't been able to get my shot!! The dr. Is great but they make you wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait. And then when you are done waiting you wait some more. Other than the massive amount of waiting the care is great.

I was very pleased with the attention and the care I received at the Drs. office.

Highly recommend. Dr. Callaghan is great! He fixed my deviated septum and some other sinus problems last week. Im already seeing a big difference. I seen 3 other ENTs and he was the only one i trusted enough to do surgery. I was a pain in the butt bothering him after surgery but he was patient, helpful, and understanding. Not a very good experience. Front desk staff was very unfriendly and rude.

Dr Callahan stitched my face, a considerable size slash cut, two weeks before my son’s wedding. Hardly noticeable in the wedding photos. Superbly done!

I did have to wait awhile but the doctor was quick and friendly

Great Doctor

I'm writing this review while I'm still waiting in the exam room. I had an 11am appointment went and asked where I was at on the list and was told she had no idea that wasn't her expertise.

Dr. Callaghan is very knowledgeable within his field and wants to help his patients feel (and look) their very best. He helped me with my sinus issues that I had been suffering with for years. I am thankful to have gone to him!

The staff was kind and pleasant as well as dr Callahan . I expressed my concerns and he answered . However he was rushing through everything very fast and coming in with a broken nose I was obviously concerned and worried about suggested procedure . After being dismissed to setup A date I realized I had more questions because I had initially felt rushed through my appointment n went back into a conference room where I asked further questions n once again was rushed . I understand the business of having multiple patients . But I do not agree with the manner he was rushing around acting as if my questions were not important . I expressed to staff I felt rushed . And received a phone call within 30 minutes of leaving he was so offended that I told the staff I felt rushed .. he said said since I felt rushed I will not being doing your surgery and tried to refer me to elsewhere . I’m not one to write these types of reviews however I think others should consider that type of ignorance when having your face messed with . If he’s not patient in person with simple realistic questions it also makes me concerned with how fast he may rush through surgery with delicate things . One of the best Surgeons in town does excellent work and cares deeply about the people he treats. New Castle is lucky to have him practicing here.

Dingbat girl answered phone. Unwilling to help me determine if my insurance would cover hospital fee. Seems like the staff should have some sort of remedial training and possibly attitude adjustment.

I had to wait exceptionally long and felt the Doctor was very flustered.

The stuff vary friendly.

Dr. Callaghan, in the past,provided excellent diagnostic information and direction for prevention of additional ear, nose, and throat problems. His professional, pleasant, knowledgeble demeanor assurred me my medical/dental needs would be addressed and if my symptoms could not be expertly addressed...he and his excellant staff would direct me accordingly.

I had a TERRIBLE!!! experience and now have to go to another doctor to fix what happened to me there. He seems to lie to his patients and he gets people in to discuss sinus issues and then talks them into getting plastic surgery. It worked on me, and now I regret it, because it went terribly wrong. If you are getting plastic surgery I would recommend you go elsewhere.
