Dr. Dana Claudia Petrus

Dr. Petrus has been my doctor for several years. She is direct and to the point but she is a caring doctor and kind underneath her professional exterior. She takes time to answer all my questions and while I have the sense that she is busy she always takes time with me to answer all my questions and to address all my health concerns. She always asks me if there is anything else before she ends the appointment. She has even called me on the weekends with test results and I know she has my best interests at heart.

I have been seeing Dr Petrus for 6 years now. She is by far the BEST doctor I have been to. We have moved around a lot, 3 states. She has always been polite to me, keeps all my appts, does NOT overprescribe medications to me. She is to the point, which I like. She never rushes my appts. and answers all my questions, I never leave her office wondering about something. I have always known she cares about her patients, but the time she surprised me (but made me sad and mad about my Dad’s dr’s) was when I wanted to add to my Family History info that I filled out when I first started seeing her. I told her that my Dad developed a rare lung cancer and that his primary care dr said that that type of cancer was most likely hereditary. She noted it and I think she felt my distress. SHE ASKED ME if I wanted her to set up X-rays and bloodwork for me. I was happy that she cared that much. When I was at St Mary’s for pneumonia she came to see me and treated me. Her and her staff are amazing.

I had a bad experience with Dr. Petrus. I will never go back or recommend Dr. Petrus however her staff is amazing and very helpful, patient, friendly, caring! It’s hard to recommend a dr that didn’t bother or care to read my moms X-rays. Had I known dr was gonna ignore my calls and messages I would have took her to the E.R. sooner it turned out my mom had a fracture in her back. To make a long story short I changed Dr and now my mom is getting excellent care from a Dr who is concerned about the pain my mom is in.

I'd give her no stars if I could. Disgusting practice. I have a lot of needs that she's refused to address. She is constantly throwing medication at me that I don't need & can't take and have asked her to stop prescribing, getting birth control from her has been a nightmare and a half though. She has verbally berated me, yelled at me, cut me off mid-sentence (while answering a question SHE asked), and has just flat out forgotten our appointments. Every time. Her office staff are either incredibly rude or incredibly dense, and the communication both amongst each other in office and with patients is staggeringly poor. I have been seen by this doctor when I was much younger and was not impressed then either. I went back recently after she was recommended by a coworker, however that ended up being a huge mistake. She only cares about herself and lining her pockets, and leave her staff to do all of her dirty work. She is among the worst doctors I've seen, no exaggeration.

She doesn't do her job!

Dr Petrus is one of the best doctor I've had. She is caring and concerned for my health. When meds need changing, she is right on top of it. Who cares about the old? Dana Petrus does. I'm 66 and not going anywhere.

If i were dying, this is the last doctor i would ever want.

She’s not consistent with her care. The care you get can be a crapshoot: I never know what her mood is. I have chronic medical conditions. She tends to talk over me and doesn’t take the time to hear me out. She won’t get my records from the past. Her staff has been nice, but inefficient. When trying to get a prescription filled/refilled, it’s a complete nightmare. If I need 2, I only get one. If you have chronic serious disease, I’d say not a good choice. She wants to treat the healthy.

Very thorough doctor! Had double pneumonia and was hospitalized for eight days, the nurses told me she was the only doctor that came every day to check on me. Nurses also randomly mentioned to me that they could tell that she's an excellent doctor by the way she went above and beyond. She has taken care of the needs of all of our family and I appreciate her no nonsense approach.

Seemed too timid to handle basic blood pressure control.. She told me I was arguing with her when I tried to clarify and ask questions.

The poor quality of this office is apparent the second you walk in the door, and it only get worse with interaction with the rude staff and even more rude Doctor Petrus. Be careful when changing clothes, women...they have no privacy curtain and the staff does not knock before entering a room when you are changing. I was undressed from the waste up when a staff member, who didn't even need to be in the room, walked in on me and saw me exposed, and there was a MAN patient just outside the door!

Unfortunately I see a lot of bad reviews for this doctor. Honestly, I was scared to try her out. I've been looking for a good doctor in the high desert for years. No joke she is the sweetest and most caring doctor I have ever met. She is thorough and takes her job and patients very serious. Her and her staff are the most respectful people I have ever met in any medical office. Everyone is extremely professional and kind. Im pleasantly surprised with her. I'm glad to say I finally found a keeper

I have had her for 2 years now. I went in today for moles to be removed and she said I smelt like a achahol. I just got off work, sprayed body spray and went in. I felt I did something wrong when I have never. Asked her for my results on my ultrasound as well. She then said if I go over them with you I can't give you back your co pay. I'm lost on even what to do? I thought I already paid for my ultrasound then to pay for results. As she made me fell I did something wrong.

Dr Petrus is a caring Doctor . She is blunt and gets right to the matter. She has been my doctor for about four years and I love her.

She withheld specialist advise and information from my husband. He was also made to suffer for 5 days in the Hispital as she told him she would not release him to get the proper care from UCLA due to a TEST St. Marys doesnt even offer so i had to take my husband from her.she has been FIRED by our family..she is a joke to the High Desert.If you care for yourself and loved one.do not i repeat do not seek her out.

She is a caring no nonsense type of doctor. She called me one night after she had reviewed my blood work and insisted I go to the hospital. I had been sick but she wassi concerned and ultimately saved my life.
