Dr. Dan Muntean

I've been a patient for many years and Dr. Muntean has been great. His personality is nuanced and remarkable. His office set up and procedures attractive, convenient, efficient, and effective. I have lots of serious medical issues and he has been very helpful in all of his guidance and care and coordination with specialists. He may take some getting used to for some folks, but the getting used to is well worth it.

Dr. Muntean is true medical professional. He is very concerned about his patients health. He ask great questions and provides sound advise. Was wonderful until the last year or so when they merged with CMC. Hard to get through the phone system to leave a message. Then once your message is received no response (now going on 3 wks). Auths to see a specialty dr are never recieved by that dr. Supposed to manage my meds but the rx may or may not be received by pharmacy. Or i month will get there but the next 2 months get lost somehow. My family has used Dr Muntean for over 10 yrs and only recently, but before covid) has everything turned into a negative experience. Dc transplant who relocated here in 2017 and of course I required a new physician. My primary care physician of 15 years back home was amazing and I’m not going to except anything less. I did a lot of research online and made many calls to multiple doctors offices. As with anything new I kept an open mind and set an appointment to which the preliminary questions asked very politely and friendly. Needless to say I’m still with this office and it’s all because of Dr. Dan Muntean. I want a doctor who cares so much they give it to you straight clear and concise. A smile or chuckle from time to time is nice but I’m in his care to ensure he gives me diagnoses that will give me a long life span. I love this doctor and this office they get 10 stars ⭐️! Has no bedside manner. Very blunt and disrespectful when he talks to you. Was rude the way he spoke to me about some personal issues that I had to go see him to get a referral to see a REAL doctor. Plenty others to choose from to have the chance of being talked to like that.

Awful, awful Office!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Everyone in the Office is rude and zero compassion. From the Front Desk right down to The Doctor. Zero bedside manner. The worst doctor I’ve ever had. Both times I was in was beyond rude, he didn’t want my husband to come into the room with me. I was on Zoloft and he upped my dosage without even asking me... I was perfectly fine I just needed a refill but based off me just having my daughter I guess he felt he should just automatically make my dosage for the medication higher. Fast forward to my refill running out and not realizing it I’ve been calling for almost a week trying to get in contact with him and nothing. I’m stuck at home with a FEVER and chills with possible Covid due to being exposed by my mother visiting and now going thru Zoloft withdrawal. My husband goes in to office to try and get in contact with him to refill and refuses. He doesn’t have an appointment for a MONTH out and since I haven’t gotten tested for “Covid” then office ladies says it doesn’t mean anything. Regardless I’m sick with flu and most likely Covid on top of withdrawal from a prescription that could easily be refilled with a doctor who could careless and doesn’t even have an open appointment to help. Takes interest in all that is going on with me. I like the idea that he is direct in giving his diagnosis and treatment. Good at keeping me on right track.

Good Dr. no problems, his PA Ina(sp) is the best.

Lost a lot of respect for him when he calls my grandfather a dead man walking but won't write an order so he can get help from hospice. That is wrong!! It's sad I have to change my 80yr old grandfather's Dr over this, but he needs hospice! I know, I take care of him. I'm also in the medical field. So aggravated, angry and disappointed!! PS: my grandfather was not pleased with him calling him a dead man walking & he really won't be ok with being denied a service he needs! Dr Muntean is great. If you follow his advice, you will get better. Would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Muntean is the best. I’ve been under his care for 10+ years and he has proven himself competent, intuitive, compassionate and available. I have severe asthma with a 15-25% lung function. He manages to keep me out of the hospital in between Pulmo appts and procedures. Having a life-threatening chronic illness can be tough to read sometimes. I count on him to see the whole picture when sometimes I can’t. He likely saved my life two years ago when he fit me in on a Friday during what I thought was a typical flare. He knew it was worse as soon as he eye balled me and treated me according. I nearly died in the next 24 hours needing to be intubated and on a ventilator. I would have never made it to the ER had he not chosen the aggressive treatment protocol the day before. So yes, I appreciate Dr. Muntean and his nursing staff tremendously, am always treated kind and appreciate his sense of humor. FANTASTIC , Dr Muntean is brilliant , he is very professional and friendly and really really cares about you . He WILL NOT just write you a script and kick you out the door he is exceptionally careful and prescribes what you need to live a healthy life . He's also a real expert in virtually every field and knows EXACTLY what he's talking about . He has a great sense of humor as well and even shared with me a video of a woman doing experiments with those Mentos candies and a 2 liter Coke bottle which didn't turn out well . She got blasted in the face with the soda going up her nose LOL .

I would NOT recommend Dr. Muntean to a friend. He is very arrogant and condescending. I have no doubt be is an expert in his profession but his demeanor will raise your blood pressure 30 points. He would be more suitable practicing medicine in a totalitarian country.

He used to be my pcp for many yrs. He was a terrible dr I have no idea how I managed to stay with him so long...from what the nurses there used to tell me he used to be so mean some patients left there in tears. Muntean. Been my Doctor for years he got my Blood pressure under control and really has helped me with my back problems he tells you like it is no BS with this Doc. I highly recommend

Dr. Muntean is always very concerned with his patients. My whole family goes to this practice. He is very straight forward in telling you about your situation and what you need to do. My husband and I both go to him. He or his nurse make sure follow ups are taken care of . If either of us are ill, we are always able to get in, even though he's extremely busy. If a specialist is needed, he's on it. We've been going to him since 2008 . He does have a dry sense of humor but we get it. The staff has improved greatly over the last few years. In 2013, after suffering through the "services" of another local "doctor", I found Dr. Muntean and I will stay with him 'til I die. As an older female (over 70) he gives me the attention and care that I need for routine exams & whatever ails me. He ALWAYS listens and treats me with respect laced w/humor. I have recommended him to family & friends who are also very pleased with him and his staff. I would and have highly recommended him in a heartbeat!

Great experience with Doctor Muntean

I've been with Dr. Muntean for a few years now and I love how straight forward he is. The negative comments here are from people who don't like hearing the truth. If you have horrible eating habits and are overweight and now have health issues, he'll tell you and suggest how to fix it . Or if you are looking for a drug fix he will know and tell you to get your life straight and offer help. Dr. Muntean is a no BS doctor and wants the best for you. He won't feed you a bunch of unnecessary pain pills so he can make money like other doctors I have seen in the past. He is kind and I love his dry humor. After being a patient for 20+ years at Primary Medical I will never step foot in PM again after my most recent experience with Dr. Muntean. He has been rude in the past and made comments that I was overweight and assumed that I was being socially ostracized by my peers because of it. Excuse me? But when he became upset with me this last time I was there and refused to answer my medical questions and then literally threw my prescription at me and walked out. Never again. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!

Very professional.

Extremely competent and very thorough. Glad to have him as my doctor!

Dr. Muntean, has been taking care of me and my son for quite a few years. I find him to be caring and very concerned about my overall health on every visit. I never have any trouble getting in to see him. I am in my 60's and have seen a lot of doctors over the years and Dr. Muntean is by far, my most favorite Doctor, I have ever had.

I find Dr. Muntean to be great! He is informative; doesn't waste time; humorous; and he's solved my problems quickly.

He has a sense of humor that is sometimes hard to interpret, but when push comes to shove, a great doctor. I trust him and he is smart and solves issues. I am not hung up on bedside manner. I want a good doctor and he is a good doctor. I see a good side to him and I would not hesitate to trust him implicitly. He has taken care of us for years. If he's a little gruff, I blow it off. It is well worth being cured of what ails me.

Very abrupt and will not take his time to listen to your questions. He seems to have a very bad attitude towards older women. I can not be sure how he treats other patients? He is the absolutely the worse doctor I have ever seen. Example: You may have your appointment at 10am and every time you will sit, waiting for atleast 45 mins, to an hour. Abrupt, rude, and in my opinion, not a good doctor. Ask for normal blood tests and breast exams for cancer, all normal yearly exams, forget it.

This dr. Kicked me out because im addict although i never asked for any medicine in reference to that. Answering him honestly didnt helpe any. I only needed him for basic health concerns.

Very condescending, does not listen to you. Avoid this physician. Horrible to get in touch with. Definitely will be in search of another dr. With a better bedside manner. Very dismissive

Dr Muntean has been my wife's doctor for years. I have VA 100% but I decided to use private insurances as well to limit trips to Charleston. I brought all my labs to him for the record. Dr. Muntean was quick, knowledgeable and set me up for a Colonoscopy for the following week. Nice to have doctors that care.

Dont believe any good reviews. Like most incompetent idiots his family wrote those. This is the worst "MD" Ive seen n 39 years. Dont get 2 close bc he smells like garbage. Expect 2 b interrupted constantly & condescended. Clearly he has no clue, that's why he works at a shoddy practice. Apntmnt at 130 was seen at 415. Staff also rude. Why would u take advice from an unhealthy fat slob whole smells like dead things. Horrible bedside manner. SO MUCH MORE, but out of characters. Avoid at all cost!!

One star is being generous. ANYTIME i have ever called i was quickly told He was booked. He is condescending and hurtful when speaking to me and the whole time trying to shoo me out of the room. This is after waiting 30+ minutes to be seen, front desk staff is very unprofessional and seemed as though i was bothering their snack and gossip time. Dr. Muntean does not care about you or your family just money.

Dr Muntean is a good Doctor. I have been going to him, now, for 9 years. He is professional and considerate. He will answer all your questions and you wont feel rushed out the door. Whenever I am sick and call for an appointment I usually get in that day or the next day for sure. As for the front desk girls and whoever answers the phones the messages seem to get lost.
