I love this Dr, he cares! I had a torn retina that he fixed! I'm actually starting to see better out of my left eye cuz of him! I had a 50/50 chance to get my sight back and it worked!! Tysvm I'd recommend him to all!! Everyone in his office are so nice, polite and friendly! Now I can't see him anymore since my eye is almost healed.. That kind of sucks! He will take care of u!! I recently moved to Trinity Fl. and I was in need of a retinal doctor as I have macular degeneration. I was very pleased with Dr. Montzka and his knowledge of my condition. He is most professional and caring, as is his staff. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Montzka has been my eye surgeon for years. I have had 4 detached retinas over these many years, and he has successfully operated each time. I would recommend him to anyone needing eye surgery.

I was a patient of Dr. Montzka's. After he gave me a shot in the eye for wet macular I began to lose sight in that eye. I was very alarmed at that obviously. I called the office so I could be seen and find out what's going on. The office staff told me he wasn't in that week. No one was covering for him either. My regular Opthamologist called the office to get me in but there was no one there to see me. I have been a patient of Dr. Montzka for 20 years. I am blessed to have such a knowledgeable doctor who I trust to take care of my eye problems. I am diabetic, making it imperative that I have a trusted doctor taking care of me. I highly recommend Dr. Montzka to anyone looking for the best retinopathy doctor in the area.

The initial phone intake didn’t give me a sense of what to expect — or at least I wasn’t expecting a great visit. I’ve been getting care for my condition for 10 years now, including at the Cleveland Clinic. I was really pleased with my visit to the practice today for my regular follow up (but first appointment here). I interacted with a number of staff, all of whom were friendly and considerate. I appreciated their care, both as a patient and as someone who worked in medical settings for more than 4 years. Treated my dad for years for macular degeneration, went to him for a vitrectomy due to the vitreous interfering with my vision - excellent results, no complications, great improvement. He is very good at retinal surgical, and will spend time to discuss your issues with you and answer your questions. My only complaint was the surgical center nurse's IV placement bruised my entire wrist and up my arm and took literally 3 weeks to heal, so I wish he could have used a different surgery center. But I know that with the pandemic and all, a lot of juggling of surgical locations has been necessary.

Excellent doctor and staff! I couldn't ask for a better experience. I was referred to Dr Montzka for a torn retina which was considered an emergency situation. He got me in and performed lazar surgery immediately. He explained everything to me in detail. He has such a kind, caring manner & truly cares about his patients. He took time to answer my questions and made me feel comfortable and confident in his abilities. The staff is wonderful as well from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave! And as far as a little wait time in the waiting room ... it is worth it. That just shows the doctor takes whatever time is needed with each patient. To me that is a must! I wish there were more doctors as COMPETENT and CARING as Dr. Montzka.

Dr. Montzka is the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. He spent a lot of time helping me, and I knew I could always trust his judgment.

My story. My retina detached while sitting on the couch watching TV one evening. I didn't feel it and I didn't notice it until I got up to make some food in the kitchen, then realized my eye could only see part of what was in front of me...I became horrified and scared I was going blind! We rushed to the ER for help only to find the detachment had gone past the macula and was roughly 80% detached...my heart dropped. We made an appointment with Dr. Dan Montzka the next day and he scheduled us for surgery. I was nervous because I'm only 53 years old, play sports and have an active lifestyle, I wasn't ready to be visually crippled. After the surgery, I followed his directive for best recovery with the help of my fiance. The recovery and healing was precisely on course with how Dr. Montzka described it. I'm now a year and a half post surgery and can gladly say I'm doing very well. I feel blessed to have had such a skilled surgeon handle my procedure. If you are reading this, you've probably experienced the horror of vision loss. I'm living proof you can get your vision back and continue you life as you desire, and maybe even more gratefully than before...I know I'm grateful for my vision and Dr. Montkza. My story. Dr Montzka at the Florida eye specialist institute repaired my retinal detachment and saved my vision! He and the staff there did a wonderful job and he was very professional, efficient and caring! I’m so thankful to him and his nurse Amy!

Dr.Montzka is a very good caring opthalogist who perform my right eye Vitrectomy I'm glad he's my Dr.for over a year

Front desk says this doctor deals only with the retina but they cannot tell if your condition is related to the retina. So they pass you round the office without telling the next person why you clled. You probably should not call this doctor unless you hve a diagnosis of retina issue from another doctor first. I did not see the doctor and have no idea if he is good or not but his front desk leaves a lot to be desired.
