The staff and Doctors are wonderful . I am from California and all they want to do is keep giving you more and more pain meds. I have been on pain meds for over 15 years and if it wasn't for Dr.Leigh Boeckle I would still be on them. I was taking a lot of different pain meds that that kept having to raise the mgs.and now I don't need them. Thank you so much Dr. Leigh The staff and Doctors are wonderful . Dr. Stott has a set of procedures he performs. If a chronic pain patient does not respond to these he will not honestly admit he cannot help them and recommend they consider other therapies with other physicians. He will instead pressure them to repeat the same expensive, painful procedures. When treatments still fail, he will blame the patient, label them non-compliant and refuse to treat them. Working with him was one of the worst medical experiences of this 20+ year journey with chronic pain.
I seen this doctor two times we did not get along so he tells me not to ever come back I’m in so much pain and now I can’t find one doctor that will see me I have to move out of St. George because of this
Update: a doctor diagnosed me with Xiphoiditis. Thanks for nothing, Doctor Stott. ———— After receiving four recommendations from four different doctors to visit a pain management clinic to try and manage my pain, I was hesitant because I don’t want to be on medication but I started to feel like it was my only option because I have had severe chronic pain in my abdomen for over a year now. I had a colonoscopy, blood tests, every type of scan possible, stayed overnight in the hospital, and even surgery to try and fix the problem but with no success. I finally decided it was time to go to a clinic because it was starting to really effect my life and missing so much work due to pain definitely doesn’t help. My regular doctor (very respected by the community and other doctors, whom also delivered me and has known me my entire life - you’ll understand why I say this in just a moment) agreed that it was probably time and sent a referral to Zion Pain Management. Clearly he thought I needed to go. I get to the clinic and they have me fill out a huge packet with all sorts of questions and statements how they want to help me to get back and enjoy a normal pain-free life and of course they took my insurance money. I get called back to the room and Dr. Stott immediately proceeds to tell me without previously speaking to me at all, that he wasn’t going to give me a prescription for anything because he thinks I’m, quote: “a drug seeker” because nobody has been able to identify the exact source of my pain (which feels like I’m being stabbed repeatedly with a knife). So yes, he immediately jumped to that conclusion. Here I am feeling like he is the only person left to help me and he makes me feel worse than anyone else ever has. I have never felt more humiliated and accused of something so bad that I certainly am not. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not that type of person. Not that people who have an addiction problem are bad, it’s just not me. He then proceeds to tell me there is something he can prescribe me, an alternative to pain pills that is non-habit forming; a patch that gradually keeps the pain away. It sounded like a good idea to me but the only problem is I thought it was the same kind of patch that my regular doctor tried to prescribe to me but my insurance wasn’t going to cover it and it is very expensive but decided I would at least try again. Well it wasn’t the same patch. I found that out at the pharmacy when picking it up. The patch Dr. Stott gave me was something they give people who are coming off hard drugs! He was so convinced that I had a drug problem without ANY evidence to support his claim, and even after giving him a urine sample, he thought he would give me something that would make me MORE sick because the medication requires that you are going through withdrawals from heavy drugs to be of any use. If not, it makes you sick. I went back to the clinic and spoke to Dr. Stott about my concerns and asked him why he would prescribe me something like that and why he was discriminating against me thinking I was an addict with no evidence to support it. He said the patch wouldn’t make me sick because he felt like I was coming off some kind of hard drug. I asked him, If I was this “drug seeker” like he claimed, why would I wait more than four months to finally take the referral from both the hospital and my doctor? Why would I turn it down if all I was doing was looking for drugs? I wanted to see if I could get nerve blocking done or something, ANYTHING at all that could help me not live in agony on a daily basis. He even asked if I wanted him to write me a pain medication prescription and I said, “No.” This made Dr. Stott very agitated with me and he politely told me that I was not welcome at his clinic and I’d have to get help elsewhere. Well, I was in severe pain while I was at the clinic and I decided that I would at least try the patch so I could go to work and support my family. And what do you know, the patch DID make me very sick and I threw up five times that night. Update: a doctor diagnosed me with Xiphoiditis. Thanks for nothing, Doctor Stott. ———— … More
I wish I could multiply the stars by 100!! I went in because I've had chronic lower back pain for a couple of years...figured it was just aging and there wasn't much I could do about it! I teach piano lessons and it was getting harder and harder for me to simply stand up and go get a book... It was painful to get out of bed in the morning. Worse to try to put my pants on. Anyway, enough of the gory details! I went in and had a lumbar facet trial done. MAGIC!!! It took about an hour for the medication to get to full capacity, but when it did I was giddy with joy!!! (Insurance requires you have TWO lumbar facet trials before they will pay for it...) Anyway, I had the actual radio frequency procedure done yesterday. It didn't take long at all, I had a few hours after arriving home that I just want to doze here and there, but by 6:00 p.m. I went to a city council meeting, and another meeting after that. All I needed was a couple of aspirin for a little discomfort from the procedure, but the back pain I've had for 2 years is gone!!! Holy Smokes...my only regret is that I didn't do it a year ago!!!! Thank you to Dr. Stott and his wonderful staff. It was totally enjoyable from start to finish!!! I wish I could multiply the stars by 100!! After hearing they had opened an office in Henderson, I immediately made an appointment. I used to have to drive two hours to get fixed up. I was happy to make the drive because I always ended up having relief, but the convenience of having them right in the Vegas area makes the experience even better.
So pleased to find a knowing and caring doctor that is a board certified pain specialist, not just some chiropractor jumping on the pain band wagon. Dr. Stott completely understood my reluctance to be just another pain patient living on pills and having my back manipulated. He worked at finding the problem, and set his sites on fixing what was wrong even if it meant I would no longer need him. That is a truly caring doctor. Staff is wonderful and friendly, also.
