Dr. Conrad O Yu

Doctor Conrad Yu fixed my trigger fingers all five in my right hand about three years ago and my hand is great other than old arthritis sneaking in. Now I have a trigger finger on my left hand and I’m trying to find him. Awesome Doctor and Staff

This review is specific to Dr Conrad Yu. I was sent to see him as an "independent medical evaluation". Or IME. you may be familiar with this if you're a part of the workers Comp system. Which I was for over 3 years. After years of fighting the system and being in chronic pain, I have finally received a much needed surgery through my private insurance. Backing up, I was sent to Dr. Yu to be evaluated. After he yanked my injured arm around a few times basically told me there was nothing wrong with me except some inflammation. I was met with confusion and disbelief as to why I would need an arm sling (which provided me some relief) and that I shouldn't be in that much pain. I realized that he was simply regurgitating what the paperwork from the surgical Dr said (that guy is a whole other story!) and that he was not going to evaluate me as he should, as the oath he swore when becoming a Dr obligated him to do. I then asked him to speak to his colleague across the hall. Another Dr. who saw me as a second opinion and diagnosed me with a small tear in my labrum many months prior. After my evaluation Dr Yu told me that I was 100% and recommended me for a full duty release. But on paper recommend that I be put through a functionality test to find my new work restrictions. Well that sure sounds screwy doesn't it? So here I am.. After 4 years of fighting the WC system, Dr's who diagnose patients based on what they know the insurance company wants to hear (whatever is cheapest and whatever discredits your case and pain) I am finally in recovery. I feel quite validated and vindicated. Sad to have lost my 20 year career, my home and 4 years of my life.. but happy to be on the mend. I hope that this review helps someone, even 1 person in the future, to not waste their precious time and energy with this Dr. if you see his name, immediately contact your adjuster and request Dr. Edward Ashman. Dr Ashman is truthful despite the WC system. The surgery I ultimately had was a small Labrum tear repair with a rotator clean up. This review is specific to Dr Conrad Yu. He has been my hand ortho Dr. since last year. Very kind, compassionate and sits and listens to you. Sorry that he is leaving Nevada Ortho and Spine.

I am a local surgeon and I trust my hand and wrist to Dr Yu.

Dr. Yu was very great and let me express my concerns. He acted fast and ran me through my options even though he said he would recommend surgery regardless of what anything else would have showed. I changed doctors after an unpleasant experience with another doctor in the same facility. After being evaluated and medically cleared to go back to work I was still in pain that got worse due to a laceration. After my first visit with Dr. Yu he recommended surgery immediately. (Last doctor said I was ok) Dr. Yu found a my thumb had a severed tendon and was irreparable and medically necessary to remove due to the time frame because of Dr. Taylor's negligence and unwillingness to provide medical care. Regardless of the outcome I am greatful of Dr. Yu for trying to do everything he could to help me recover. Thank you Dr. Yu. Dr. Yu was very great and let me express my concerns. Dr. Conrad Yu and his staff are extremely professional and informative. After surgeries on both hands and elbows I was very happy with the results. Dr. Yu takes the time to explain the proceedures as well as the possible outcomes to you and follows up thoroughly afterward. I would highly recommend him for any ortho needs surrounding the hands/elbows (my experience).

As an active senior citizen I occasionally injure myself. Dr. Yu and his staff have twice put me on the road to a speedy recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Yu for any sports injury or orthopedic problems you may develop.
