This was the WORST medical experience I've encountered and suffered through over the past 6 months. My recommendation would be to find another Dr for the following reasons... The office admins were extremely disorganized and on 4 occasions the wrong lab work was sent/not sent at all only for me to show up at the testing site without labs and then I couldn't get a hold of anyone in the office to resend the correct labs. Good luck trying to get through their phone line. It was quite apparent that Dr Kulig hadn't reviewed my lab work prior to my appointments (once I eventually got the correct labs submitted) as he'd ask when I last got work done and didn't know the results of the very work I was there to discuss. I was constantly answering questions that we'd already been over. If these details were recorded in my file, we wouldn't have had to constantly circle back. I didn't feel like my input into what may have caused my issues was carefully considered or looked into, despite this herb being the culprit. I created my own excel chart with the labs I'd received to make their job easier but to no avail. I eventually asked to work with another Dr because I didn't feel I was getting proper communication/attention from Dr Kulig, only to have the next Dr cancel appointments and then be passed off to a RA. I went for a 2nd opinion through my employer who spoke to me, took all my previous lab work, carefully reviewed my results, and wrote up a thorough report and came to a conclusion and detailed my next steps, something Dr Kulig and team were never able to do. Again I would not recommend this office and would seek care elsewhere.

Dr. Clark Kulig (in the Hepatology clinic) might have done alright with other patients here, but for me he dropped the ball and locked it in a ball-sized iron maiden. I'm resaonably certain the office was given a highly biased reference and they didn't even try to double check to make sure the other doctor didn't miss anything (medicine is difficult but my issue turned out to be really minor and really common, it just felt scary because I didn't know what was going on) To the best of my understanding Dr. Kulig and the office lied (to me and my friend helping with medical communication), left inept phone messages (I let every medical message go to voice so I could listen multiple times), gave me misinformation about the condition I was referred to them for, didn't let me know what they were doing with my care or why (unless I called them). And even if I make excuses for all of it and say "oh they were just busy" they still were perfectly ok with the neglectful treatment when I brought it up to them, and acted affronted that I would want reliable, informative care. There was even a point where the front desk coordinators and other that worked there were complaining about patients who yell. Not once did anyone mention that digestive issues affect nutrients, and nutrients affect behavior, not once did they consider how terrifying it is to not know what's going on with your health, but be able to clearly see doctors *not* doing their jobs. I've been trying to offer patients useful advice for dealing with the doctors I've had bad experiences with, but in this case I have nothing especially insightful. Maybe take the advice some patients with chronic illnesses offer and tell the doctor you're going to use a voice recorder the for appointment (and use one obviously). Dealing with this office left me seriously suicidal for the first time in my life for about a month. (I know too much to delude myself into thinking I can diagnose myself for the rest of my life, or find/make a cult that wouldn't be harmful). I'm also now extra terrified of psychologists now that I have personally experienced how bad a "professional" can be. These guys took an oath to do no harm, but to me they said "do no harm, except to Kat lol, she can die later when she gets a disease and doesn't trust doctors, whatever. Nbd." So, they set me back on my goal to see a psychologist indefinitely. In the future, if he want to fire patients, they need to work out a policy with the hospital network to determine patient waste guidelines. And instead of being neglectful or looking bad, just say "we can't help, it's a hospital policy to reduce unneeded tests and appointments" I'll know it's bs, they'll know it's bs, but at least I wont fundamentally lose faith in doctors on the whole. I hope they see this and at least consider that maybe, they could double check *some* of their assumptions (you know, because science is about research, studies, and challenging assumptions). Hopefully the deaths from covid deniers are enough to convince them that we can't afford to lose trust in our medical system, and doctors need to make sure they're not contributing to the loss of trust. The only resource I found that might help Doctors is a free online course called "unconsious bias in medicine" a few nonprofits and Stanford offer a course like it, and it should at least help a little. Dr. Kulig very good Dr, takes the time to listen and help your Loved one. He shows that he cares and explains everything thoroughly.

Dr. Kulig was more interested in getting me on a transplant list than he was figuring out what was wrong with my health and subsequently delayed an effective treatment.

Only advice was a Hospice that was 5+ years ago.

Dr. Kulig is very knowledgeable and was very thorough in his diagnosis. He was very good at explaining everything that was happening and always answered my questions.

I had trouble with another Dr. No follow up or he never gave me the results of my blood work. So I change to Dr. Kulig and have been very satisfied with my progress. He has followed up with what he would tell me. He reassured me he would continue follow up for my medical hep -c and liver transplant potential. He wrote a recommendation for my Liver transplant and I have been accepted. Helped me to get my insurance to cover the Hep- c medication. Very Professional ..
