Reviews for Mr. Christopher John Sullivan
Incompetent and Rude sums Sullivan. He was probably average at best years ago but, now he belittles and chastises. I am dying and he won't treat me and help me anymore. He jas been showing signs of senility and has a poor staff to make it worse. Doctor/patient relationship should always be positive. Attitude is the most important part for healing. Non- compassionate Doctors should lose their license or at a minimum have to go through a review board yearly to determine their effectiveness and whether they are doing more harm than good! I have seen Dr Sullivan for over a year and was very satisfied with his care. His assistant Theresa was extremely nice. I had never rescheduled or missed an appointment. In December and January I did rescheduled routine appts with ample notice. One was for a death in the family which was explained when rescheduling. Theresa unfortunately had a death in her family and was out of the office for an extended period of time. I received a Voicemail from Dr Sullivan Directly. “If I was unable to keep my scheduled appointment, he would no longer see me. Please come and pick up my records” When going in to pick up my records he was at the desk. He was extremely cold and acted like he did not even know me..nothing like the Doctor that treated me. Stated his office policy was three missed appointments and he would no longer treat you. I rescheduled only two appointments. I am baffled to say the least. My Primary care Dr is appalled and will No longer be referring patients to him. I have seen Dr Sullivan for over a year and was very satisfied with his care. His assistant Theresa was extremely nice. I was extremely pleased with Dr Sullivan. Under his care past Two years. I needed to reschedule my last two appointments. I called beforehand, not last minute. I heard back from Dr Sullivan left me a message on my Voicemail the morning of the appointment. I was not able to listen to it as I was working all day. At 5:00 what I received was a message from him⦠I could either honor my now missed appointment or he will no longer treat me since I now rescheduled three times. I am shocked to say the least. I left a message to advise this was not a third time, but if chooses not to see me please advise and let me know how to obtain my records. I did not receive a response and left another very polite message today. So be aware there is no room here for any unforeseen circumstances. I do not recall being notified of this policy, but I could have been and forgotten. Certainly this is not something that happened before in the past two years. So I am actively looking for another Pulmonary Dr, Since I am compromised with a left lung only and take daily Meds.
Just moved to The Villages and couldn't find a doctor close that I was comfortable with so someone suggested Dr. Sullivan and I am pleased with my visit
I have no doubt this Doctor saved my life.
My husband and I are new patients and we couldn't be happier with our choice.
What a great office!
First visit this week and I can't put into words what a great simple office this is. Teresa greeted me as soon as I walked into the office and after I returned the paperwork I was in a room. Dr. Sullivan came in to see me, we discussed my problems and discussed a start up plan until I see him next. No drama, no pouty faces running around the office, just two nice people that seem to enjoy what they do. Highly recommend this office.
I have been seeing Dr Sullivan for 10+ years. He has saved me numerous times with his knowledge of my conditions.
All I can say is THANK YOU Dr Sullivan. You saved my life, in August I went through a botched Angio heart procedure and I saw my cardiologist twice after the procedure telling her I still couldn’t breathe. All she would say to me is that it must be my lungs because they just fixed my heart (at a training hospital). I met Dr. Sullivan who told me that he believed it was a heart issue. He said that if he couldn’t fix it he would send me to someone who could. He ran all his tests and had X-ray ordered showing it was NOT my lungs he then referred me to Shans cardiologist. They took one look at me and scheduled a double heart cath procedure to fix the problem and they did. Every day it got harder and harder to breathe if it wasn’t for you I truly believe I wouldn’t be here today. Thank you so much for my life back.
Sullivan (I won't refer to him as a doctor) is either the most incompetent or the laziest practitioner in Marion county. After misdiagnosing me causing me to endure several rounds of antibiotics that did not solve my problem (said I had Covid when it was emphysema), being unavailable and telling me to "go to the emergency room if you have a problem" and being treated by critical care centers only to be told I was fine when I finally did get an appointment, enough was enough. His assistant, is moody, temperamental (stress mental) tunelessly singing while taking vitals and making any excuse to not be helpful. This place is not where you want to go. They refuse to forward your records when you do finally change Doctors, and when asked to provide the records personally protest that they don't have time. If I ever manage to get a hold of my records I'll be sending a copy to my attorney with notes of my visits.
I wish there were more stars to give him. Dr Sullivan is the most caring Dr I’ve ever had. His office staff never overbooks so wait times are minimal and Dr Sullivan never rushes through your visit. Teresa his nurse couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating. She’s always on top of things and when you leave a message gets back to you right away. In an emergency she always makes time to get you in to see the Dr. I have been going here for years and have never hesitated to recommend him.
Speaking for my 79 year old father who was denied an inhaler refill unless he came for an in-office visit. He has a lung disease and didn’t want to expose himself to any possible pathogens in their office. When I called, I was told how safe they were, and that “it” wasn’t in the air. Beyond that ignorance, the office manager was so upset I advocated for my father, she canceled him as a patient. Super professional. I’m wondering if the doctor even knows? I understand that doctors have been financially hurt by the pandemic, but that doesn’t give you the right to not offer a safer alternative for refills. It’s all about the money. Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves.
Doctor explanation of problem and solution was treated. His office employee is always thorough especially since she is by herself.
Saw Dr. Chris today and glad I did. Don't understand the negative reviews so check this office out for yourself.
I have been a patient of Dr. Sullivan's for a long time and his staff and himself have always taken good care of me in the office and when I'm in the Hospital. I would highly recommend this office!
I will NEVER forget Dr. Sullivan. I was new to the area(2010) and was a self referral. The office staff was friendly and the environment comfortable. However, I was confused by Dr. Sullivan's comments to me, i.e. "there are other doctors to choose from, why me?" He further added, "your case is too complicated. There are other doctors in the community to choose from." He closed my file, stood up and walked to the door. He did not refer me to another doctor but he at leased didn't charge me for the office visit. I have COPD with frequent infections/flare up's. If my case is difficult then what type of cases does he take? P.S. I'm a retired medical social worker who has worked with all types of medical doctors
Good day Everyone. My name is Teresa and I am the office manager for Dr. Sullivan. I understand we can't always please everyone in this day and age but our office tries to be as proficient as we can from first phone call to your check out visit. First Consultation Dr. Sullivan spends about an hour with you to evaluate and come up with a plan directly from the information you provided. If he has to order test, we will have you do these prior to your next appointment with Dr. Sullivan to get all the results at one visit. We do not have you come in several times per test. We do not have a answering service and all calls are handled by myself and documented when needed. Please don't just take my word how this office is run, call for yourself and come in for a Consultation & make the easy judgement to become a life long patient. We are now taking some Medicare Advantage plans (no HMO) so feel free to give me a call and see if we accept yours. Hope to see you!
From the very first visit I was made to feel cared for by the Doctor and the rest of the Staff. There was maybe a one of two minute wait if that. The Doctor explains everything and makes sure you understand before you leave. The best experience I have ever had at a Physicians office. Dr. Sullivan even walked out in the waiting room and meet my husband and gave him a card and said if I ever had a problem with my breathing to call him immediately, that he would get me in and check me out.
Just moved from Michigan and needing a new Pulmonary. I was referred by my primary phyician and was no happy with the office. I decided to find someone on my own and I am completely satisfied with not only Dr. Sullivan but his staff is just as amazing. I found me a new doctor!

He expects to see you often and if you don’t he will not help you. He doesn’t listen and has a total lack of compassion.
If you want a Doctor who talks to you then this is the office for you. I was extremely pleased with this office.

Dr. Sullivan is a very caring, courteous, respectful and very knowledgeable. I have gone many times and Dr. Sullivan is prompt on appointments and very informative with regard to his treatment. I don't ever have to guess what he is doing etc. I would recommend him to everyone I know.

I was in ICU critical and family didn't expect me to come out...thankfully Dr. Sullivan was on my case and I was discharged 2 days later. I absolutely love his office and staff
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a pulmonary doctor- or ANY specialist. I am sure he spent time going over my records- but he did not LISTEN- or mildly focus on my anxiety . Breathing was awful for me- He is probably a genius and highly respected by some but it is impossible to get past his lack of focus on the patient's needs- I asked for a report of the visit-not a diagnosis- He said'In 2 weeks" I asked for a simple paragraph about the visit as ALL doctors do- He refused
