Certainly capable of doing surgery but the after op care was minimal. Extremely painful for over a week and wouldn’t prescribe effective medicine because “potential of creating societal problems with left over pills” and “potential addiction”. Seemed like “potential” is valued more than actual immediate discomfort that Advil and tramadol didn’t relieve. Not sure how addiction could start so quickly and with medicine that strictly requires a prescription. Made me feel like I wasn’t trustworthy or would become a drug dealer. Again, was successful at performing surgery but was a rather awkward gentleman to converse with. Didn’t think to discuss post op care prior to scheduling surgery as I assumed I would be taken care of. Literally have been prescribed more effective pain medicine from dentists. I would like to warn patients that Gall bladder surgery is extremely painful for over a week to those who are scheduled to get this procedure done. Heavy abdomen bruising and sneezing will feel like you’re stabbed. Glad to only have to suffer once! No more gall stones at least.
