Dr. Sales is an Incredible person in general! By far the most thorough eye doctor we have ever seen. Dr. Sales is an outstanding doctor, who would be great for any eye care, especially the difficult ones like my fiance has. He explains things very well and always allows time for questions or concerns.

I would not recommend this doctor as being very sensitive to payments out of pocket, he charged $800 for a short eye visit, although this was self pay cost. I can't speak much to his technical abilities - I don't recommend this doctor. I recommend Dr. Ciralsky in the same practice, her team outlined the cost at the outset and it was $300 or less, for the same visit. Patient rights and ethics are important when charging such high amounts. People can go bankrupt paying doctor's visit costs and we must find a solution where patients are treated fairly when they have no choice but to self pay. My appointment with Dr. Sales was very frustrating he has the knowledge but he is very arrogant, he does not allow me ask questions , he told me that he would write a mail to my glaucoma specialist whom referred him. I saw him twice the last visit was on February 6 2020 with the same results.

Dr. Sales is a remarkable person who possesses and demonstrates in his practice, a combination of knowledge, professionalism and caring that is unmatched. I deem it a privilege and am grateful to have had him as my ophthalmologist and cornea specialist over the years.

Dr Sales takes a very serious interest in your health issues as well as you as a person... He’s willing to step out the box if necessary... A rare quality in today’s medical profession... He is relocating out of New York a loss for Cornell and for me. I wish him all the best on his new Journey...

I did not have a great experience. When I made the appointment to see an ophthalmologist I fully informed the office that I had a very painful chalaizon and that I wanted it removed. When I got to the office it was a very brief maybe less than 5 mins with the doctor who said he couldnt do it in office but referred me to his colleague Dr. Segal. This is where things just got even more disappointing. I was told my Dr. Sales receptionist that the outpatient surgery scheduler for Dr. Segal would contact me to schedule the appointment. I received no call that day and then received a call the next day asking if I could come in days later! I asked if there was no other appointment time sooner given the pain, and I couldn’t keep taking off from work as I am an attorney with a high in court practice. I was told there were no sooner times. I ended up going to Mount Sinai Eye and Ear Clinic where they were extremely professional and absolutely diligent! The experience I had with the ophthalmologist there was like night and day compared to Dr. Sales. You would think that at a practice like Dr. Sales office you would receive similar treatment but not at all! Dr. Sales gave me a prescription which he said would do nothing because I needed it surgically removed but I could still try. He was cold and very abrupt. I even observed him call patients up by not coming out to the waiting area but simply yelling their names. One elderly woman who had crutches walked back alone with no assistance or concern from anyone there in the office. At Mount Sinai everyone from the security who checked me in to the admissions person to the nurses and doctors made me feel so special and like my problem mattered. I had a very thorough eye exam there and was even asked questions regarding my eyes that no other eye doctor had asked me. I am very disappointed with my experience at Weil Cornell and with Dr. Sales and Dr. Segal and would never recommend or go back to them. The small things matter and as an attorney with clients, I know well that client interaction is critical and should always be of the utmost importance. I wish I could get my co-pay back! This was my first visit with Dr. Sales. Could not have been more impressed. His listening skills were 105 based on a 100 scale. Grateful is the best way I can describe how our family feels about Dr Sales. We trusted him my 89 year old grandmother for DMEK surgery. Not only did he turn out to be a brilliant surgeon but also a very kind and soulful person. Grandma is recovering well, we would highly recommend Dr Sales to anyone!

I had a video visit with Dr. Sales last week. I had my dmek in Feb. 2020. He is such a knowledgeable cornea specialist. He is a very caring doctor who has his patients best interest always. I am so grateful to have had him as my surgeon.

My visit was a final check on how partial transplants in the corneas of both of my eyes were doing approximately 18 months after the last partial transplant. Both transplants were doing well, so well that Dr. Sales told me that I will probably not have to consult a corneal specialist again. This is due to Dr. Sales’ skill in performing the transplant operations and his fine post-operative care. He is an exceptionally capable and caring doctor and I consider myself very fortunate to have been one of his patients.

Dr. Sales is apparently well-trained and prepared, but he is not very communicative or interested. I would have received more attention and information if I had remained in the waiting room. The wait was extremely long (40 minutes).

I was told by Dr. Sales "that medicine is not a science but an art". He actually told me to see another doctor in the practice who he guaranteed would perform the cataract surgery that I was told by 2 doctors that I need. He may be a great doctor, but I didn't see that side of him.

My appointment with Dr. Sales was an excellent experience. My appointment was scheduled for 2:15 pm, I was called for my initial check up at 2:17 pm. Dr. Sales staff was very pleasant and patient, my eyes were quickly dilated. I saw Dr. Sales and was quickly out of there by 3:00 pm. I would highly recommend Dr. Sales.
