Dr. Mahr was a great listener and extremely helpful in diagnosing my pain issue. Really nice to talk to a doctor that doesn’t have his head in the computer!!!

I had a surgery on my right hip and have to say that the entire staff has been so thoughtful, respectful and supportive of my recovery process. Highly recommend anyone to go to Illinois Bone and Joint Institute for their surgical needs.

Dr. Mahr replaced my left hip and I am so very happy with the results. He did such an excellent job and explained the whole procedure to me and explained everything in detail. I also had back pain for many years and all my back pain went away after my hip was replaced because as I understand it the hip replacement somehow aligned my back better. He is such a great doctor and takes a genuine interest in his patient's recovery. He even had me come back a couple of times after the surgery and took xrays to monitor the results.. I started with Dr Mahr about 15 years ago.i fractured my wrist, needed pains, screws and Plate to hold it together. I have a 3 or 4 inch scar on the inside} of my wrist. But, it works as good as it ever did, maybe better I fractured my pelvic. Bone which now works as good as ever. He's done my frozen shoulder, my knees. It was very easy to make an appointment and I was seen on time. The doctor was helpful and answered all of my questions. The staff was very friendly as well.

He did my rotator cuff surgery. It was done excellently. He plans the physical therapy times and you are good as new after that

Dr. Mahr wasn't nice or professional with me, I was misdiagnosed by him, I kept telling him that I have a muscle tear and need an MRI but he insisted that the problem is in my hip joints and forced me to do an x-ray, after I had the unnecessary x-ray and he saw that my hip is fine (i told him that before) he suggested that I don't need any treatment! I had to go to another doctor to get what I needed and indeed I had a significant tear in my thigh. Dr Christopher Mahr is a wonderful doctor he did my hip surgery back in 6-5-2019 he did such a wonderful job.

They are so professionals and helpful, They respect the time of the appointment and take care good of the clients .The Doctor take his time to check and let you know what you need.I feel much better!Sorry for my English my primary language is French

Dr. Mahr has been my doctor since 2015 and I've had 2 surgical procedures with him and I have say he's done a wonderful job of taking care of me. My surgeries went well and my after care has been first rate also. He's caring and understanding of what I've had to go through and of what I'm trying to achieve to be healthy again. I had snapped my ACL and tore my miniskis in 2 places. Dr Mahr did the surgery and I am about 1 month out and doing great. He explained all the test results and how to read things like the MRI. I barley have any scar and am walking again. I was skeptical with a couple bad reviews on here, but the doctor is a nice guy. The surgery center was state of the art. And im almost all fixed. Also note, positive reviews written here look to be by employees, one also reviewed multiple doctors there. PLEASE READ IN FULL- 3 surgeries, Billing issues and then re-tear. As a person, Dr. Mahr was a very nice guy, but I couldn't recommend him to anyone I know and care about. I had ACL repair surgery on 6/27/16, on 7/17/16 it swelled up and it turned out I had an infection. I had another surgery & spent a week in a hospital. On 7/25 I felt calf pain, and called his office and they said I was fine & not to come in. Thankfully a nurse friend said to check it out, turned out I had a blood clot. (Obviously this could have been very bad if I had kept his advice). A 3rd surgery took place 8/15 from another mistake, made during the infection surgery. There are too many doctors to choose from to use him. Why risk something similar happening to you when you can find a different doctor? Additionally I received my first bill via email on 12/21. I called his office that day, left a voicemail and it was never returned. Two weeks later I received a call from collections. When I called his office back, they said they had been sending it via mail, to an address I moved out of on 6/30 and updated with them then, but they say I told the wrong person (why didn't that person mention that then). They billed the wrong insurance as well, so at this point getting the right one to cover might be tough, and I have a HUGE bill. They were very little help trying to figure this out, Dr. Mahr became unresponsive as well. This was all a nightmare, so unless you have some strong reason to use him, why even consider when there are other options? Update: On June 2nd 2017 I received a refund check for them for overpaying, funny because I had not paid anything, simply had my insurance reach out and correct the issue (since they would not). I then received a bill with the date of 6-13-2017 for $15,249.35, funny because this is way over my out of pocket first of all, but importantly because they sent a refund check two weeks earlier. I called the office and left a voicemail, saying this was obviously a mistake since I was told my account was good and received a refund check and that I would like to stop being harassed by their office and thus not to hear from them again. She called back to confirm they were wrong. Update: I re-tore my ACL less than 1 year after surgery. I do not know exactly when it happened, but I went to a new doctor who had me do a MRI and said it was torn again. The doctor did also mention it looked like last time it was a little higher than he would have placed it himself (doctor is from Rush, #4 rated Orthopedic hospital in the country). Referred by a co-worker of mine to see Dr. Mahr for my back. It's been hurting for years and finally caved in and made an appointment. I usually don't write reviews, but I was seen the same week. UNHEARD OF. Dr. Mahr is a great man, listened to my complaining and gave me multiple options for my pain. I'm back to work and feel good again. Highly recommended!

Came here to get my foot looked at by Dr. Mahr. Staff was nice and listened to my concerns since I needed to go back to work. The space was clean and Dr. Mahr really helped me get back on my feet to go back to work.

Dr. Mahr saved me from ruining a vacation. I was having shoulder pain and was leaving the following week for vacation. His staff was very friendly and gave me an appointment right away! I was so glad. The office was clean and everyone was warm and very thorough with the paperwork. Dr. Mahr is an absolute angel. He gave me my diagnosis, a course of treatment as well as exercises to do in order for me to have an enjoyable vacation. Highly recommend!!! This is practice is great!

First off the doctor himself is really nice and very professional. He did my knee surgery and everything was great, I had a incident with my other knee where my knee swole up and I actually could not walk. I went to the ER they took and X-ray and I'm probably gonna need surgery again. His rude and unsympathetic staff refused to take me on an emergency and told me a balance of $41 is stopping me from getting a visit. Some $41 insurance did not cover over a year ago and they were sending invoices to a wrong address. Anyways the rude lady never called me back totally did not care the ER said to see my doctor right away Monday morning and had no compassion what so ever that I am not able to walk. Good doctor horrible employees I found a different doctor and got a doctor visit,X-rays and a MRI the same day and it turns out I'm gonna need surgery. So not only did that ignorant lady not help me she lost $$$ for her office cause now in gonna have the surgery at their competitions. Two months ago I sustained an injury that I feared would end my favorite activity - running. Thanks to Dr. Mahr for his accurate diagnosis and successful surgery on me. I am now pain-free, gaining strength in physical therapy that he ordered for me and looking forward to start training for another marathon I once thought would never be possible. Thanks, Dr. Mahr!

I HAVE SEEN DR. MAHR AS WELL AS MY FAMILY IN THE PAST AS WELL AS IN THE LAST MONTH. ALWAYS FITS US IN WITHIN A DAY OR 2. MAKES MY CHILDREN FEEL AT EASE. VERY PROFESSIONAL WITH EXAM AND EXPLANATIONS. WOULD RECOMMEND DR MAHR TO ANYONE THAT NEEDS AN ORTHOPEDIC CHECK UP.

I was having a foot issue. Dr. Mahr was great. He took x-rays andexplained what plantar ficsciitis is and gave me a few different options for treatment. He alsoexplained what exercises i can do to help. I have seen him before for other issues and have always been happy with his treatment and explainations of my diagnosis. I would recommend Dr. Mahr to everyone.

Saw Dr. Mahr for neck strain. Office personal was very friendly and accomodating at my appointment. Dr.Mahr was very professional and eased my nerves. Ordered Xrays right in office. Explained my diagnosis and treatment so I could understand. Ordered steroid for pain. Felt better within a week. Will definitely refer family and friends to this practice.

Couldn't recommend to anyone I care about ACL surgery on 6/30/16, on 7/18 it swelled up, turned out I had an infection & spent a week in a hospital. 7/25 I felt calf pain, and he said I was fine & not to come in. Great doctor!

I had an appointment with Dr Mahr in early September for an injury I received from playing football with my son. My experience was a very positive one, as he fitted me with a boot rather than a hard, and uncomfortable cast. I was thrilled with this approach. He was extremely personable.

I went to see Dr. Mahr for a slipped disc in my lower back. He did nothing in the office to treat me. Instead, he sent me to a physical therapist and did not work with her to come up with an appropriate routine to help my back, I ended up feeling worse. I then was directed by his assistant to see a pain specialist. Instead of helping me, he sent me to other doctors.
