Dr. Christopher Funk

My 1st appointment with Dr Funk. He established an excellent/patient rapport. He was very thorough in explaining my issue’s options and treatments. Problem resolved without pain!

Dr Funk performed surgery on my Taylor’s bunion my wound opened up and required wound care as well as a second surgery to repair the infection a complaint was filed with the Podiatry Board

I'm a similar story to Cindy F. He flippantly told me for my Morton's Neuroma that I should 'get those darn things out of there'. Being trusting, I did, and I'll never be the same. I'm so much worse off now than before. This is a guy who is supposed to know better, and get patients like me to someone who actually knows how to do peripheral nerve surgery ! Don't let this guy do peripheral nerve surgery on your feet - BAD NEWS !!!

I just love this doctor. He is very personable, empathetic, and knowledgeable. I was diagnosed with Halux Limitus recently and he explained everything, as well as gave me all options. I have seen him a few times, and plan on keeping him as my podiatrist

My experience was horrible. I had an appointment time and showed up 10 minutes before my time as I had already completed the paperwork online. I waited 25 minutes till after my appointment time and the office was empty as all other patients had come and gone. I asked the receptionist what was going on and she said she didn't know and couldn't check. So I told her my time is valuable to to me and I left. What a total waste of time, but I wouldn't want to get involved with receiving care from an office that totally disrespects their patients time.

I had a nerve removed from my foot about 10 months ago. Prior to surgery I had no pain, only numbness in the bottom of my foot, but never any pain. Dr. Funk never checked my foot to see if I there was a bad nerve with any kind of medical test. He only felt my foot. I think he just assumed that I had a bad nerve between my toes, but never verified it. Today I still have the same problem with sometimes losing circulation in my leg which causes my foot to go numb on the bottom, which was the whole reason for the surgery to begin with. I think the doctor took out the wrong nerve! He even told me nothing looked wrong with the nerve when he took it out. Why would he still take it out if it looked OK? But the worst thing of all is my foot is much worse now than it ever was before surgery. Now not only do I have the same numbness but I also have awful pain, swelling, and stinging sensations from the surgery. I still do today 10 months later. I never had any of that before the surgery. I don’t know if my foot will ever be the same again. I wished I had never had it done. I heard that a second surgery to correct neuroma surgery will make your foot even worse. I have read and heard from other doctors that it is so bad to cut a nerve out of your foot and to never do it. I wished I would’ve done more investigating before having surgery but I trusted the doctor. I’m now stuck with a bum foot the rest of my life unless it miraculously gets better over the years. A big difference from what the doctor told me that I would be OK in a few weeks! It took me eight months after surgery to actually be able to walk on it without it killing me. Some days are better than others but I always can feel it and know there’s something more wrong with it now than ever before. Always get a second opinion. I wished I had.???? First visit with Dr. Funk. Front office staff very efficient and friendly. Waited less than 3 minutes before called. PA took x-rays - very good. Waited less than 2 minutes before Dr. Funk arrived (might be a record for doctor visits). Learned more about my feet in 30 minutes than the last 60 years. Recomend highly!

Dr. Funk has taken excellent care of me for 25 years now. I have recommended him to my friends and they actually thank me after becoming his patient. He truly cares and listens to your concerns. I cannot say enough good things about him.

Went in to have a small cyst on my toe. He told me that the only way to get rid of it was to do surgery. My foot hurts me and I can hardly walk!! I ended up having 2 surgeries and my toe is a 1/2 inch shorter!!!

Dr. Funk has taken great care of me over the years. I have recommended him to my friends and they are very satisfied also.

He is very friendly and open making for a good environment for a meaningful patient-Doctor discussion. He has a reasonable approach and is not quick to suggest expensive or invasive procedures, unlike some other Podiatrists . He was even open to the concept that my foot pain may originate as a compensation mechanism for the 1/2 inch my other leg lost from a total knee replacement. I sense no ego, allowing him to offer the best suggestions whether he came up with them or not. He is very friendly and open making for a good environment for a meaningful patient-Doctor discussion. Dr. Funk sees my parents every 3 months for diabetic foot checks and clipping their toenails. He is super sweet and has a great bedside manner! Dr. Funk is very conscientious. He is a great listener and provided interesting, helpful feedback to address my concerns. His staff was congenial and informative. There was zero wait time and the office was decorated nicely and kept very clean and sanitary. I would recommended Dr. Funk to all of my friends and family.

Poor outcome from surgery for torn ligament. Had to have corrective surgery from another doctor to repair poor outcome and pain.

I was referred by Dr Rubens Office (Amy PA) for some minor stat Surgery. The receptionist said they had not received the referral but even had they received the referral non of their physicians could see me. Not once during our conversation did she say let me contact your physician regarding the referral and let’s see with it being a Stat referral be able to work you in. She said even with a referral she didn’t know if she could get me in next week or the following at all. Very non caring.

I had this provider repair a torn ligament through surgery at NW Medical Center. The result was so poor I needed an orthopedic physician to repair and to another surgery to fix the damage and pain.

Dr. FUNK has been my podiatrist for several years. I see him about 5 times a year for various podiatric issues. He has been outstanding.

Dr. Funk is one of the best doctors, he has helped me with operations on both ankles. I would recommend him to anyone that needs help with there feet. Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!!!!! The Best!!!!! Explains everything that needs to be done and helps you through the process, also has a patient portal that you can write to him and he is the person that responds in a timely matter.

Very good at removing ingrown toenails does not hurt and takes a week to heal completely. Going there to get another one taken out! Super nice he asks if you want to keep the piece of nail!

I've suffered from plantar factitis (sp?) for years and was in tucson on a business trip and he fixed me up. i know see him once a year when i am in Tucson. friendly and knowledgeble, no long wait.
